OK, now this is just too funny and I had to share it with y'all.

Today was the first "FULL" day of Spring, and guess what happened, not once, not twice, but three times....................I slipped and fell on the ice attemping to read meters that are attached to the back of some of the residents homes.

Luckily, no injuries, unless you count my pride and ego..............:lmao:

Survivor fans, remember that Survivor is on tonight, due to March Madness being on Thursday.

Sorry to laugh at you Andy, but that is funny. And I really needed a laugh right now. I just found out that a friend had a heart attack today. She's doing ok, but will stay in the hospital at least over night.

Well, Andy, I am not sure you falling is funny. I am glad you weren't hurt.
It will be nice when the real spring decides to show up.

So sorry to hear about your friend, sending :wizard: for a speedy recovery!!!

Oh, if you had seen me, believe you me, you would have been laughing as well. Picture me doing a split, I'm lucky my pants didn't split right down the middle. The third time I went down, I was laughing so hard I had trouble getting up, and this was at the very last meter I read this afternoon.........

...............this was me.......:rotfl2:...............on the ground

Heart attack !!!! Sending prayers and Pixie dust.

I wanted to tell everyone Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for our "stinky" DD. She did sleep better last night due to the extra pain killers I gave her. She said she didn't even wake up which is very unusual for her right now. She even over slept this morning. Too bad she can't have that every night.

I really do appreciate everyone here and I want you all do know that it is so nice to be able to mention some concern and know that there are friends here who will support you. I thank God every day for my new friends on DIS. It is truly amazing to me that even though we have never met in person we all have bonded with each other in an awesome way. It is truly a God thing!! You are all so wonderful, and we do covet your prayers and thoughts. Pardon my mushiness.  :grouphug: :grouphug:

I'm so glad she was able to get some much needed rest!

No pardon necessary for the mushiness:grouphug:

Yes, he has been in the AIG program at his school since Kindergarten. I just found out that they have IEPs for AG students. They are called DEPs.

IEP's? AIG? DEP's? Can you translate please. Our DS was in the gifted program starting in 4th grade until he left elementary. now in Junior High they don't have anything for that except advanced math and history. Next year he can also add Advanced English. I fought for 3 years for him to be recognized as needing more of a challenge. Finally, at the end of the 3rd grade when the MEAP scores came in they were willing to believe what we knew all along.

Ok, so why did I get some weird message telling me "postthanks" could not be found? Didn't type anything about "postthanks"???????

Boy the boards are wacky now.

And to top it off, since I couldn't DIS all day, what did I do?? Checked into some plans for my birthday next month. Either a weekend in Vegas (yoo hoo Todd :wave2: ) or a weekend Mexico cruise (but only if I can find room on RCCL, other option is Carnival YUCK!)

I got that messsage too.

Not only that, but are you also receiving strange e-mails from the DIS with no message in them??? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 I know I am.....

I got the weird message too but no emails.

You are lucky, I've had about 15 of these e-mails since the boards came back up.

I just went back and selected No e-mail Notifications, let's see if that stops them from coming.

Glad to hear that nothing was broken!

We don't have any kind of gifted program until they kids are in the 7th grade - then it's more like accelerated classes, doing 3 years of math in 2, AP becomes available in 9th. This is a big part of my problem with DS - he isn't challenged enough in school and he is BORED out of his mind, so he doesn't apply himself - thus starts a vicious circle.

I'm really hoping that we can just get through the next few years.

OK, don't have time to ketchup. I have been SO busy I don't even know if I'm coming or going! Just wanted to let you all know I'm alive...

My kitty seems to be fine. They said she's either had an alergic reaction (and they gave her a low-dose cortisone injection to see if that helps), or it could be a metabolic condition (they took some blood and are testing it), OR...She could just be Obsessive-Compulsive...Yes, OCD...exactly what I figured it might be in the first place...:lmao: (I'll just poop a brick if I spent all this money at the vet and I had the diagnosis the whole time...:lmao: )
So that's that...

Here at work it's been a MADHOUSE...We're preparing for inventory on Friday, and we're doing mad preparations this time because last inventory, we came up over $10,000 short!! :scared1: So we're trying to figure out what we did wrong last time, and NOT repeat it!! :thumbsup2

The adoption process is moving right along, and I will tell you all about our goings on over the last weeks later when I have a chance to breathe!!

Anyway, like I said, no time to ketchup, I have more work to do before I go home. But I hope everyone is well! :flower3:

See you all later!!

I still haven't figured out how to get paid for being at any of these meetings. ;)

If you did, you would probably have to go to a whole lot more.

The mascot of the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team, the "Phillie Phanatic"
ph_com_phanatic200.jpg
will be at Angelina's Build-a-Bear store this coming Saturday from 3pm-4pm, and Angelina will be working while he is there!!!

Will they have Build-A-Phanatic? That's so cool for her, of course the place will probably be nuts.

Now if you could have caught it on video, you could give us all a visual laugh....:rotfl:

I keep seeing that "rumor" of spring being posted on the board.... but all this ice has me wondering....

Of course today is bizarre, when I left work the whole town was covered in smoke, now its by my house. From what I hear on the scanner, its a fire about 50 miles away.... weather is making smoke hang by ground...

That's where the message "your message has been posted ...." should appear. Apparently when the boards went down the proper message got lost (maybe a pirate: made off with it)

It will probably stay that way until someone lets the moderators know.

(Monday's joke) This one is in honor of the fact that the boards were DOWN when I came to post the joke of the day!

pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:
What do you call a pirate that skips class?

Captain Hooky!

Angelina said, "Yes they do have a Phillie Phanatic that can be made, and they even have a few sound effects that can be added, such as "Take me out to the ballgame and ............Charge" and yes, I'm sure the place will be crazy once the Phanatic arrives.
