Just realized that there is a 23 minute time difference between my computer clock and the Dis clock. Does anyone else have this problem?

Karen

It has varied over the years but that is about average :confused3

OK...

... this long lunch and pirate sprint was fun - but I have to get some stuff done now. Have a great afternoon and evening folks! See ya later or tomorrow...

Rolling Stone 10 Greatest Albums of all time:

1. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, The Beatles
2. Pet Sounds, The Beach Boys
3. Revolver, The Beatles
4. Highway 61 Revisited, Bob Dylan
5. Rubber Soul, The Beatles
6. What's Going On, Marvin Gaye
7. Exile on Main Street, The Rolling Stones
8. London Calling, The Clash
9. Blonde on Blonde, Bob Dylan
10. The Beatles ("The White Album"), The Beatles

Discuss . . .

I definitely have trouble with number 8 and a little with 9. There has to be an Eric Clapton band (any of them) in the list.

I agree with all of the Beatles albums and Pet Sounds. They were the key focal points in the change in music for our lifetime. We all know by heart the songs of the Beatles and they resonate in our souls.
:goodvibes

Here is an interesting situation...my sunscreen is frozen!
I went shopping yesterday during lunch, so it sat in my car all day.
I wonder if freezing alters the effectiveness of sunscreen.
I wonder if I am the first person in the history of the world to freeze a bottle of sunscreen.

:scared1:

My soul is younger...don't question The Clash! ;)

Good point...where is Clapton??? I'l be right back...

. . . obviously the editorial staff of Rolling Stone magazine averages age 60 or greater, I'd say! ..... Not to have something by U2 (I'd go with Achtung Baby or How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb) or Nirvana's Nevermind . . . even Green Day's American Idiot

I just turned 55yo and agree with most of the list :hippie: but I also agree that U2 should have an album in the list (or very close to it) but I totally disagree with either Nirvana or Green Day being in the Top 10 list. Yes on a list but further down the number scale. It can be debated how far down on that list.

BUT -- if the criterion for being a great album is that it changed music . . . the Beatles did it, but I would pick only Sgt. Pepper or Revolver -- probably it (the real change) started with Revolver and personally I'd go with that one-- and that would be it for them on the list. I mean, I love the Beatles, but I think 4 albums considered to have "changed" music is too much. On the other hand, I think that you could argue that Nevermind (Nirvana) and American Idiot (Green Day) did. . .

But these things are completely subjective, so this argument can only be for fun.

Wait, let me look...

Curiously after KidzBop 7 but before KidzBop 2.
It also beat Hanson, William Hung, and everything by Yoko Ono.

I absolutely, 100% agree with this ..... particularly Yoko! :lmao:

Nevermind is the Pet Sounds of Gen X.

....now where did I leave my flannel shirt.....

Well, all, i am off for a while. I have meeting with others in my area who are in the window treatment industry. Chance for a dinner out, and time to network. Maybe, I can pop in for awhile when I return.

Well... it's time again for another round of the ...

7 QUESTIONS GAME....

#1 What was / will be / for LUNCH today?

A WW 2 point Lemon Bar with a Diet Coke

#2 What would you like for LUNCH tomorrow?

Two dozen Hooters Hot Wings! (breaded & drums only)

#3 What is the BIGGEST chore on your "to do" list currently pending?

Clean and straighten the basement. It is my Disney room and I have not set it up since our move here. :sad2:

#4 If you could drop what you're currently doing tomorrow and take a day off for doing something else... totally free to do what-ever your heart desires.... what would you do for fun?

WDW Magic Kingdom Park! :cheer2:

#5 If you could have Palo's make you something off the menu... anything at all... what would it be?

Extra Prime Buffalo steak with brussel sprouts :goodvibes

#6 What ONE Disney character would you like to spend a day with (or be) in a REAL story sestting ... IE ... you could accompany or be Winnie the Pooh in a real 100 Acre Wood for a day... so what one character would you want to be for a day... and what setting for that characters' storyline?

Mickey Mouse just walking around the Magic Kingdom with me.

#7 For your cabin on this sailing... which of these "modifications" would you choose if you HAD to pick one? a) A 70" LCD 1080p HD TV with HD DVD + HD DVD selections. b) a triple sized bathtub with steam, jacuzzi jets, tanning lights and aroma theraphy devices. c) a giant MIRROR on the ceiling and the motorized rotating round bed with vibration baby! Oh yeah... also included are the fog generator, mystery ball with multicolored lights and mood music sound system... and a unified remote control for the whole array! d) A narrow private veranda that runs around the entire permimeter of the ship. All the other cabins on your level have one way mirrored glass... so you can't peer in though.

a triple sized bathtub with steam, jacuzzi jets and aroma therapy devices.
:thumbsup2

This would be a good question for Mark too. He is in Mexico and probably won't be on line so if I get a chance I will try to ask him for you. What kind of camera do you have?

Hi FGM - hope your feeling better - I have a Canon EOS 30D - I too love to take landscape pictures so I knew I should have gotten one earlier - but I was using my conventional lenses - I just get tired of carrying my camera bag (its a bacipack) around and thought of taking just a medium and a wide this trip - (which I just now I'll end up regretting :sad2: ) but oh well - regulations existed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks -

Hey Capt Crash you still on (and other photo compulsives) ? I have a serious question here - I am seriously considering adding on a wide angle lens on my camera - I have the ones from my conventional camera but I have this burning itch (and no - its not a disease! - wait maybe compulsive shopping is??? :confused3 ) Anyway, how much do you really use a wide angle on your camera?

I've been debating it and since we're leaving in a few months - got excited when I saw the Disney Channel ad on Barcelona. We'll be staying in the Gothic section for 2 days before we sail and the thought of missing some of the cathedreal down there saddens me.

So the questions is - wide angle or macro (macro as in I can take close up pictures for my "Yea Honey - I'm gonna starting posting on eBay as soon as I fork out all this $ for this expensive macro lens." :lmao: )

Oh well - just had to post - I keep getting signed off in addition to running late. Anyone else got any opinions?

I would rarely use a wide angle but would find lots of use for a macro lens!

My next one is going to be a long lens .... 200mm or more.

Monica,

that one way mirror only looking out really ruins it, doesn't it. :lmao:

I could see it now, I'd be sitting in my stateroom thinking I was in Palo with some guy with his hands up against the window trying to look in. :rotfl2:

If we could look in, I'm sure everyone would go for that one.

I don't know about that. Have you ever been on the outside decks next to another ship in port? Some of the sights will almost make you want to put your eyes out! :scared1: :scared:
