Is Austin Powers coming on this TOAL too?:rotfl2:

Well...

... that may depend on how many folks choose the "round bed" option from my 7 questions query....

finally had a chance to get back to these

Monica,

that one way mirror only looking out really ruins it, doesn't it. :lmao:

I could see it now, I'd be sitting in my stateroom thinking I was in Palo with some guy with his hands up against the window trying to look in. :rotfl2:

If we could look in, I'm sure everyone would go for that one.

oooooh I can't wait to hear Andy! I hope hope hope she got it!!! :wizard:

Hazel just called, still no word. Angelina was told the interview would take about an hour, Hazel said she went in at 2:45, it's now 4:00 and Angelina is still in the office with the manager. Looks like we'll be hitting Wendy's for dinner tonight..........................;) ;) ;)

Andy, what are you doing posting during a pirate: run. :rotfl:

Hope you hear good news from Hazel and Angelina. :thumbsup2

Sorry, I had just walked in the door, and had to wait a few minutes for the reply page to load up, I didn't know a pirate: run was being made.

Hey Capt Crash you still on (and other photo compulsives) ? I have a serious question here - I am seriously considering adding on a wide angle lens on my camera - I have the ones from my conventional camera but I have this burning itch (and no - its not a disease! - wait maybe compulsive shopping is??? :confused3 ) Anyway, how much do you really use a wide angle on your camera?

I've been debating it and since we're leaving in a few months - got excited when I saw the Disney Channel ad on Barcelona. We'll be staying in the Gothic section for 2 days before we sail and the thought of missing some of the cathedreal down there saddens me.

So the questions is - wide angle or macro (macro as in I can take close up pictures for my "Yea Honey - I'm gonna starting posting on eBay as soon as I fork out all this $ for this expensive macro lens." :lmao: )

Oh well - just had to post - I keep getting signed off in addition to running late. Anyone else got any opinions?

In my "kit" I have a 20-35 wide angle zoom, a 28-135 macro zoom with Image Stabilization (IS), and a 70-300 IS. All are Canon lenses, of course with top drawer UV filters. I find that what you use most will depend on what you shoot. You don't really need a MACRO lense unless you are really particular about close up shots of very small objects or details. And as for which lens I really use most - it has got to the the medium telephoto 28-135. It also is probably the lowest rated of my lenses - although all are well regarded and test well.

If I were you I would simply spend a little time in the camera store trying the lense and try to develope a sense of perspective gained (or lost) between lenses... that is... if you're using a DSLR. On our cruise... I would be willing to LOAN you the ocassional use of my 20-35. I can only use one lense at a time and I only lose 8mm of focal range from the 28-135.

The thing to remember though with DSLRs is the 1.6 conversion factor. So the 20-35 gives an effective 32mm perspective and the 28 only yields a 44.8mm perspective... which is barely wider than a "normal" 50mm perspective... so the 20 gives me a medium wide angle capability. Which is why that extra 8mm is so meaningful.

AND... why do I like the wide angle? Because I do like taking landscapes and shooting in tight spaces... and you NEED the wide angle to get everything in the frame in small spaces sometimes.

Edited in .... I just noticed you're in California. If you're anywhere near or in Ventura county - and if you use Canon DSLRs - I would be happy to loan you the use of a wide angle lens for a couple weeks so you could try it out. Or even the 28-135... which costs twice what the 20-35 is worth.

Yep, that's what I was thinking, if it was one way the other way....that would be a pretty entertaining verandah

That's o.k. It seems to be running nice and smooth now. Figures. It was really hard to time the posts at the time. I hung for about 2 minutes, thinking I'd come in after, and I was 5 before it.

Mmmmmmmm Wendy's!

Good sign that Angelina's still in there!

I totally forgot to give my "review" of Edward Scissorhands!!!

It was...INTERESTING...It wasn't bad...It was just one of those things where I went in expecting one thing and got another. But I did enjoy it, and the end was GREAT!!!

If you expect to see it and don't want it to be spoiled, then ignore the stuff below. Otherwise, you'll get the story below...

I went in expecting it to be like a musical, with acting and singing, etc. But it was more of a dance production. NO speaking parts, NO vocal music...Just an instrumental soundtrack type thing with a dance interpretation of the original story. It was enjoyable, just "different" from what I expected. And at the end (related to the scene in the movie where the daughter is out dacing in the "snow" from Edward's ice carving) they blow out REAL snow into the audience!!! It was pretty cool!!!

That is different...not sure if it's exactly my cup of tea but would probably be willing to see something like it to at least have the experience.

Good afternoon everyone!!!
I'm here, at work, against my will...I would SO much rather be outside at the zoo or at the park, or anywhere but INSIDE!!!! :sad2:

I went out for lunch, so I got a little fresh air. But I can see now why the thread is beginning to slow a bit...Only the SCHLUMPS like me who HAVE to be inside are actually here DISing instead of playing outside...:rotfl:

DW & DS went to the zoo today. He had a blast feeding the giraffes (his favorite animal since that was his first stuffed toy as an infant). I feel ya though about being stuck inside.

Hi Everyone,
Wow I've been preoccupied for the past couple of days and I've got over 40 pages to ketchup. The reason is - well, I wanted to get a buddy/playmate for Annie- the German Shepherd I rescued on Valentine's Day - and GSD rescue came through again. Sunday we brought home Max a 3 month old puppy. I probably need my head fixed to get a puppy with everything else going on. But - it was love at first sight.

I've got to run as DGS just got home from Kindergarten but I wanted to share. I hope I downloaded the pictures okay.
I'll check in later - hope all well with everyone & hugs, prayers and PD to those in need.

Chris :yay:

What a sweet Furr Baby! We had a shepherd/husky for 13 yrs. Isn't it funny how you never think they'll grow into their feet and ears :lmao:

I don't know, the Capt Jack I had my pic taken with was gorgeous! After that I walked around wondering which cast member was him?

Getting ready to go. DD has a 3/4 grade music concert tonight at school. It's 70* outside! Yeah! Break out the shorts. :beach:

Sorry, read #2 wrong. If I could have anything tomorrow, well I like most food and go with what I crave at the time. Right now, a good lobster or seafood bisque would be good. :thumbsup2

One lobster ... coming right up!

OK, the girls just called as they were getting in the car. I found out that Angelina had to take a test and it was 100 questions long, that's why she was in there for over an hour. Angelina said some of the questions were kind of funny, now she has to wait until the manager looks over her answers to see if she gets called back for another interview.

When she applied at Limitied Too back in November, she was hired in the spot, looks like B-a-B really goes the distance with their hiring practices.

OK, I've got to run and meet the girls for dinner at Wendy's.......

I took one of those tests about a million years ago when I interviewed for a reception position at an insurance company - must have answered the questions right because they offered me the job but I turned it down.

Sending more pixie dust that it works out.

Have fun at dinner!
