My poor innocent Mom once asked the difference between regular vanilla ice cream and French vanilla ice cream. I guess I forgot who I was talking to when the answer popped out of my mouth......French vanilla has tongue in it. :lmao: :lmao:
She was not amused.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: That was toooooooooo funny!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Sounds good I would love to drive across USA on highway 66, been to Hawaii, must say I was dissapointed with Wakiki beach, do they still have thoose ABC stores everywhere, the locals call them All B****** Corners.

Found Pearl harbour very moving indeed, all thosse people lost, I have only felt moved, and spooked like that at Alcatraz.

We were disappointed with Waikiki too, but I think it was because it rained continuously for 4 of the 7 days we were on Oahu. The whole island was flooded. We were able to get away from Waikiki and enjoy some of the outlying beaches that were less crowded and less touristy. We really loved Hanauma Bay for snorkeling, watching the waves and surfers on the North shore at the Bonzai pipeline, Pearl Harbor Memorial, and the Pineapple Plantation.

And yes there is an ABC store on every corner in Honolulu and one or more in most towns on all the Islands.

I would recommend heading to one of the other islands if you ever get a chance. We've now spent time on the Big Island (three two week trips), Maui (one week trip with another 10 days shortly), Oahu (one week), and Kauai (one day). We hope to take the ferry to Lanai on our next trip to Maui. We spend most of our time at the beach (snorkeling and boogie boarding, no sunbathing for these pasty white skinned Northwesterners), hiking, tidepool exploring, and relaxing in our condo. If we really cared about nightlife we would stick to Maui (Lahaina area) and Honolulu (Waikiki area)....but we don't so we don't.

We have a really hard time choosing a Disney cruise over a vacation in Hawaii. It only took this 15-night opportunity to get us out of our Hawaii vacation rut. These are the reasons why we like Hawaii over the cruise:

:) No timetable.
:) Less food temptations.
:) More active choices (snorkeling, boogie boarding, hiking)
:) Cheaper for a 2-3 bedroom condo on the water, airfaire, and food
:) Less socializing for our shy family.
:) Internet connectivity in condo to keep up with work (a requirement if I want to take a vacation in the next year.....I think I need a new job  )

Forgive my blasphemy....

I'm dying laughing at this article about the town fixing its typo. Look at the typo that's IN the article! :rotfl:

Town Fixes Sign With 20-Year-Old Typo
AP
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (March 8) - The city of Hagerstown corrected a municipal spelling error Thursday, 20 years after committing it. A sign directing drivers to "Municpal Stadium" was replaced with one displaying the proper spelling, Erik Kline, city traffic control supervisor, said.

The sign was first placed at the corner of Frederick Street and East Memorial Boulevard in the mid- to late 1908s, but the error went uncorrected until Hagerstown's Herald-Mail brought it to City Hall's attention this week, prompted by a reader's complaint.

Kline said the longtime tolerance for the misspelled sign doesn't reflect poorly on the western Maryland city of 38,000.

"I think it was a mistake that was made. I don't know that it necessarily makes us look bad," Kline said.

I think either the sign was there for more than 20 years, or someone didn't proofread their work.

I'm part of the DCL Postcard Project, over the past 3+ years, I have mailed out over 700 postcards. Most of the postcards were donated by a DCL CM but I have also received postcards from other DIS'ers. Also, many of the stamps I use for the postcards have been donated by DIS'ers as well.

In fact, I have some postcards I need to get ready for mailing over the weekend. It's a fun project that I enjoy doing in my "spare" time!!! ;)

Here is the link for the postcard project http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=629204

That's a neat project! That's the first I have read about it . . .

No blasphemy . . . sounds heavenly!

On the holiday planning side I am juggling three holidays at the moment.

A villa holiday in May in Majorca, self drive, self cook, etc, organise flights, food, car etc. Book time off work,That’s nearly 95% complete.

Med in the summer, One week Barcelona, 11 nights Magic.
Book time of work.
Done Flights, Booked Barcelona transfer, hotel, have to plan trips there, and pay yet!
DCL booked, and paid for but shore trips with DCL etc to book around end of April.
Booked five private shore trips, have to pay.
Clothes Tux hire etc to arrange.

2008 DCL booked and paid for.
Flights September.
Disneyland to book later on.
Havent booked time off work, do not know school holidays return date!!!!!!!!

Good Luck! It is so fun to plan:cool1: I don't have near that much to do:confused: at least I don't think

That will teach you not to step away from the computer!

And as for that picture -- don't think I won't do it, 'cause I will! Let's hope I don't get into your wife's bad graces . . .

Andrew what is your DW going to think..........................

Oh, I'll find her a nice man pic too:thumbsup2

Thanks its a lot I have now to keep files for each holiday to ensure I have everything, it would be nice if it was a package holiday.

I'm with Paula on this one -- I love to plan -- it's truly almost as fun as actually being on the trip, and lasts much longer . . . I would hate a package holiday because it would rob me of all the fun of planning (not to mention I like to be in control and do things my way!).

Also planning vacations today .....

The summer holiday has been planned for months. Two weeks in the mountains of North Carolina with family the first week and friends the second. The DISDog gets to go with us this year.

In September we have nine days at WDW and will be our first use of DVC points. I plan for OKW but we'll see.

In December we have two days before the cruise and eight days afterwards. I am hoping to use DVC points for WL but will settle for SSR (our home resort)

How come you haven't booked OKW yet, you are in the 7 month window?

My favorite non-Disney Hidden Mickey is the one DS8 found in Yellowstone 3 years ago.

Agree but planning for seven Med ports and all the things I want to see is a juggling act.
