Spoke with my mom. My dad will be having surgery on June 19th. The doctor didn't have any misgivings about the surgery. Said my dad would handle it just fine. It will be an outpatient procedure. And, my dad has had an outie belly button his whole life, a big one too. Well, since they'll be in there already, they are going to fix that too.

Sounds good
remain vigilant and upbeat.

DH still thinks he's a future astronaut!
From my KSC trip report:

DS11 would so covet the real space shuttle tile. He was car sick when we tried to visit KSC. I had to drive him back to the hotel.

Thank you for the good luck wish !! So, I guess my speed reading is a weakness too :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

The funny thing is, I've interviewed 100's of people over the last 20 years of my career. No one has ever given me a real weakness. Depending on the vibe he throws off, I'm thinking of telling him I curse like a sailor. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

A high risk strategy -- could either clinch the deal and guarantee you the job, or guarantee that you get to try the strategy on an interview at a different place . . . probably worth it!

Is he gonna get it pierced too?
I know it is scary, but he'll be fine Monica.

Loved the trip report. Sounds much like our experience. It was super cool, we saw all the things you did. Although our real astronaut did have a line. We were able to get a picture with him anyway.

I had planned the trip already, but then DS's school announced a science fair. They hadn't done them for a few years. I urged DS to do something about space shuttles knowing he would have a great way to do some research. He loved the trip.

Then fast forward a few years and I surprised him with a week at Space Camp in Huntsville. He's gone twice now. He has wanted to be an astronaut since the Columbia disaster. Odd that such a disaster would make him want to do that job? I've done whatever I could to encourage this dream. He's held on to it for 5 years now. For a kid his age to have a consistent dream like that, I figure he's pretty into it.

I just got this off of the main board from a returning passenger on the 5/25 Mexican cruise. This is what I have been waiting for to make my transportation plans. I think it will help a lot of us as far as time tables for 8/17 AM.

Good thing our cabin is reserved. I have no information yet as to when the DCL transportaion wiil take us to the port.:headache:

yes, we have a few who are booking tonight, so I decided to hang out with them in chat. Anyone else who is available, come on and join us.
Maybe!!::yes::

Won this for DH on Ebay...figured it will change up his tux a little for the 2nd formal night.

Oh I love it!!!:worship:

Yes, please wear something more than just the tiara (and no, gloves and sparkly jewelry don't count)

but during the Speedo parade, maybe tiaras would be acceptable???

I would let someone even borrow my tiara! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Bay Village, just north of Westlake.

Were you watching earlier when they scored on themselves??
Not good.

I asked for one during my c-section. No one thought I was serious.
I was.

My sister asked for one when the surgeon was repairing a botched hysterectomy (sp?). The surgeon actually told her he would do approve all the paperwork if she seriously wanted one. He was the head of the surgery dept I think. They did a bad job on her. She had to have 2 follow up suregeries and wear a colostopy (sp?) bag for 3 months!

were these photos posted here in the thread? or is this on the main board?

it sure is crazy...but i know now for sure that she did in fact peek at my emails! i'm still not going to say anything...but i hope i can get passed this...we've been good friends for quite a while!

i used to love vc andrews books. i think i've read almost all of them.

To forgive is divine(sometimes I would rather get even but..........:goodvibes

WOW - I'm a DE teacher and was talking to someone at school about the cruise and she said that her DBIL and family were going on a 15 day cruise through the PC in Aug. I said,"I'm on that cruise, too." Wow...maybe it is me...pirate: I do read more than I post (only been part of the pirates for 5 weeks) - it is the end of the school year and things are crazy:dance3: Hopefully we can meet on the boards and on board.

So you are the lurker.::yes:: I did not know you were lurking!!!;) BTW did Stephanie ever contact you???:confused3 I told her too!!

Fortunately (or not) he does have another hernia that is medically covered. The belly button is not but since they will be in there already, they are going to fix it for him.

I like inny (SP)much better than outies!!!:rolleyes1

How big would my coj***s have to be to pull that stunt off ?:rotfl2:

Cheryl, if your staying at DL prior to, they don't begin to leave until 12 noon. Which is making me rethink my DCL transport - I really didn't want to get there that late.

How far is Salem, Mass from Tysons Corner nearby Vienna, VA? Also, Colonial Williamsburg from Tysons Corner?

Diane is right... Traffic down the 95 corridor can be hellacious on any given day... Tysons to Philly is about 3 hrs'ish Philly to Mass would have to be at least another 6 or so...

Easy driving but 95 out of DC can get congested.
Yeah congested...that's putting it mildly... (kinda like when they say a little pregnant)

Hey i was going to bid on that one.... But that was when i thought i was ordering a red dress..(which would have looked great) I ended up getting a blueish one though so now have to get something matching for DH. Turns out harder than i expected.

anyone want to trade me for a usually nice 15 yo with an attitude?????????

I'll trade you for my mostly surly 15yo.... Occasional attitude i can handle....

So, friends, what are my weaknesses?

Hmm could be CAKE?

:scared1: OMG, that's horrible

But think of how much fun she will have doing it! :thumbsup2

Yeah...

I know... and she always has my complete approval to engage in any shopping and make any purchases she desires. In turn she's agreeable to pretty much anything I want - except that White Ferrari Mondial I was hinting at - and that Cirrus Aircraft I wanted - and oh yeah - she said "no" to any car (or vehicle) with less than 4 seats or no top (any convertible). AND, she thought it was very noble of me to give up attending the 30th anniversery Star Wars convention so I could help her with the kids while she went shopping (wink) .... and it was nice of me to give up attending that nite with the "guys" a couple of weeks ago so I could give her "some time" by watching the kids for her.

So yeah... the Tiara thing sounds great - she'll be combing through dozens of stores now in pursuit of something she likes at the right price. Sometimes I have to scratch my head and assume I should be lucky that as careful and demanding a shopper as Alicia is - she MUST have been shopping carefully for a "good" spouse.... and on the flip side of it - I think she was looking for a good spouse on the cheap too. :faint:

I missed a lot of the last thread.

based on the WB cruise, is everyone cancelling the DCL cliff divers excursion?

Mr. Emerald ?? Did I miss anything?

OMG, I thought you were talking about voices in your head !!

Yeah - those too! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

tiara.jpg

I was mentioning the Ladies Tiara event - and as I understand it - I think she'd like to join the ladies for this if you'll let her join the Tiara gang! Of course, now this means she'll have to go shopping for a Tiara - and that means she'll have to comb through dozens of stores in pursuit of the best deal right? ( sigh ) :duck:

OH Oh OH! I want that tiara - where you find it? All dd has is those tiny ones - doesn't fit this one - I need the big one.

Cheryl, if your staying at DL prior to, they don't begin to leave until 12 noon. Which is making me rethink my DCL transport - I really didn't want to get there that late.

I am at the Marriott....the one DCL is booking people at that are not doing DL. As long as I get there befroe lunch is done serving and I get to meet you all at 2:00 deck 10 above scoops.

How big would my coj***s have to be to pull that stunt off ?:rotfl2:

Huge!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

You do know that tiaras can be made with real diamonds and gem stones too!! I think I need to tell Alicia she wants real jewels!!!;) :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

OK, Cheryl & Steph: ...

Thank you for your kind thoughts. Here are a few of my images from yesterdays' mini-DIS Sunset BBQ at the Beach with Roger and Travelnfam. The water is usually quite cool - but not freezing. We lost a couple families due to it being a sunday evening and the air being very cool just before dusk. Some of the kids commented ... "this was so much fun!!!" ..."When can we do it again?!!!" ... And, of course... ..."where's the hot chocolate?"

Fantastic, Tom!!!

One of my favorite movies is "Fried Green Tomatoes". Love that movie!!

Have you read the book?? It is even better!
My favorite FF book is *Daisy Fay and the Miracle Man* It's been a while since I read it but... I couldn't put it down and stayed up until early morning... I was laughing so much in some places Ihad to bury my face in a pillow so, that I wouldn't wake dh up! LOL!

Good to know...no MK for us! I am thinking the Studios...we love  Rock N Roller coaster and Tower of Terror...

So, that may be the way we need to go...

Or Epcot, we ALWAYS love EPCOT...

We love those two rides -- they are probably our favorite WDW rides. ANd there is a new (to us) Playhouse Disney show for Clarie......

Have been having a look, and Lauren would like to share with her guiding family. This is what she has in mind as it seems to fit the bill, but would need to know how many GSs we have taking part

Celestine

That is really special! I was a Daisy & then Brownie leader for both of my older 2 girls. Claire (our youngest dd) hasn't been in GS.....

I just remembered this weekend that we are having 2 kids from Germany stay with us for 3 weeks starting end of September. So we basically need to have the rooms ready before we leave as when we return we will be put immediately into the craziness of starting school etc. So in addition to getting ready for the trip, we need to basically clear out 7 years of stuff from my boys rooms and make it all nice for someone to live in for 3 weeks and gut my DD14's room too. UGH, fun stuff!

I am really excited to have the kids live with us for a few weeks, then in June '09, my DS16 will be going over there for several weeks. Exciting!!!!

We are having some people from Germany stay a week or two with us in October!!! LOL!!!
That will be a fun thing for your 16ds. All 3 of our older children have spent time in Germany (Black Forrest area). In fact 17dd & her 18 yr cousin (when they were 14/15) spent 2 wks over Christmas there. They spent a day or two at the local school answering questions about... TEXAS! Germans love TEXAS!!! :rotfl2:

If There Be Thorns, My Sweet Audrina :thumbsup2

I read the entire series... I have no idea why I did that..... I must have been desperate for reading material! LOL! I did have a newborn when I read Flowers in the Attic (28ds).

I always loved the to read the weird stuff. That and true crime novels.

I love true crime! My DH always teases me that I am trying to come up with ideas to do him in :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

This would be 24dd & my youngest DB. The only thing the two of them read are true crime novels and forensic books. We (the family) figure if Katherine & Brett ever start hanging out alone together...someone is getting ready to die....and not be found!. ;)

Its a small world afterall..............I got a phone call from DSIL this evening from Delaware. In the school she teaches in another teacher was talking about a big cruise trip she was taking this summer. DSIL perks up and says, hey I think my SIL and BIL is going on that same cruise. DSIL got all the info from her and will send it to me. The funniest thing though, she has written down the piratezone website, the disboards web address and a number of other things including her ID. DSIL did not have the paper with her when she called so I am not sure who it is yet......... This person apparently is a lurker so if YOU is reading right now she should come out of hiding and say HI!

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

You're not the only one. I'm an only child and my folks really couldn't afford all the frilly-froo-froo stuff when I was kid. And Kevin and I were never blessed with kids of our own,so I never had a little girl to dress up (guess that's why I collect porcelain dolls now!).

I collect dolls, also. And I forced my dd's to collect them. :rotfl: My parents would never have spent money on a procelain doll when I was a child...but, my dad has bought me and my girls plenty of them since! LOL!

I really like the Marie Osmond Dolls.

Speaking of jewels - does anyone want to see my candy I got in PV and Cabo? Just to give anyone ideas out there that is! ;)
