I missed a lot of the last thread.

based on the WB cruise, is everyone cancelling the DCL cliff divers excursion?

Mr. Emerald ?? Did I miss anything?

We're sticking with it. DCL has 2 months to fix it (and I really want to see the divers).

Andy

Speaking of jewels - does anyone want to see my candy I got in PV and Cabo? Just to give anyone ideas out there that is! ;)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I would love to see them (and any of your other WB cruise pics)!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Is this four or five figure candy? Yeah, you'd better show or Susan will kill me if there's candy to be had and I don't tell her about it :rotfl2:

I'm hoping we can get off the boat easier than the WB group. I'm hoping to be off by at least 9am. :worried:

We are planning on a water park day on the 1st. Crowds weren't too bad when we did that for memorial day two years ago.

K remember you are getting off at PC not LA so hopefully it will be easier.

Need your thoughts and prayers for my father today. He's got an appt with a surgeon to determine whether or not he needs surgery for a hernia. My concern is that my dad is 84 years old. I don't know how he'd pull through surgery. He was just put on blood pressure medication last month. He's fairly healthy other than memory loss, but he's getting pretty old now.

I see he is getting the surgery. I will keep him in my thoughts. Rich has the biggest golf ball size hernia. But until he loses the weight, they won't operate.

Guys, loved the pictures. I'm jealous.

How big would my coj***s have to be to pull that stunt off ?:rotfl2:

Lisa, I think over the course of this thread (threads?) you have proved that they are of sufficient size to pull it off!!!!!!!!! The question is -- do you want to have to live up to the expectations you would create by getting the job in such a spectacular manner?:rotfl:

EMS is a store and yes a brand name.. They have a website as well. I just got a brand from KOHLS. (EVEREST) in red.. They are cute and comfy. My feet too say HEELS?? the torture....:furious: Kohls ahs buy one get one for free too.. so if you can get the family there this week.. it will pay off in the long run...good luck with that!!:drive:

Hi Doreen,
I actually got the family to Kohls today to try and get those sandals, but no luck:worried:
The Everest sandals were very nice but didn't fit our feet well enough. Since getting my family to shop is a rare occasion, we went next door to the sporting goods store and found sandals that fit our feet. Keens for everyone but DS. His feet were wide and short and were hard to fit:confused3
Wound up getting him some crocs instead (don't tell Todd:rolleyes1 ).
I'm glad I got them now, cause usually I'm searching for things like this after the stores have been picked over so much we can't find our size.

Thanks for the info- it helped get the shopping for sandals out of the way:woohoo:

All right guys - cleared up space in my PM - you all can slam me now! :rotfl:

...[ed]...!

Ummm,....

So Laura .... we're meeting at Dennys when???

I already had a tiara...... But after I bought a new gown, I had to get new shoes, then I had to get a new necklace & earrings, then had to get a new tiara to match and finally stopped with new gloves. My AmEx is smokin' this month! :faint:

Cheers!
Just think of it as an investment on cruise wear:idea: ::yes::

We are planning on wearing our Hawaiian print shirts for this. Not really tropical but no one will look too closely I'm sure ;)
Wait, if Hawaiian isn't tropical, then what is:confused3 I assumed I would just be digging up the Hawaiian shirts:confused3

So far I've found two dresses that I really like.

Prom season is just getting started here so I'm not expecting find any good prices on dresses until next month.

I love the top of the second dress, but think the skirt might be a bit much. I like the top of the first one, but the skirt is boring.:confused3

What do you think?

The first one is cute and safe. The second one is WOW. Depends on how comfortable you will be with the attention you'll get with the second one. It is gorgeous:thumbsup2 Not for the timid though;) If you are confident about yourself in general, then I say go for the 2nd one:woohoo:

We are planning our own princess night. There will probably be a dinner menu that is Prince and Princess, but that will most likely be on semi formal night. Our poll has the 2nd formal night leading. I've got almost 30 ladies signed up so far.

I may just wear mine on embarkation day. But then he'll just think I'm some wacky woman in a tiara.

Darren thinks we all are a little "obsessed", but remember this is the guy that is still hanging on to his Star Wars toys:chewy: :ewok: He actually saw Episode One 8 times in the theater:rolleyes1

...[ed]...OH Oh OH! I want that tiara - where you find it? All dd has is those tiny ones - doesn't fit this one - I need the big one.

OK, Laura....

Your request is my command....

If you have misplaced your tiara, Italy’s Princess Maria Gabriella of Savoy might have one available for you to consider as a replacement. Financial concerns have forced her to put the $1.2 million Empress Josephine Tiara at a June 13th Christie’s jewelry auction. The Faberge creation, made in 1890,is mounted in silver and gold and will be auctioned off along with 41 lots of rare jewels.

Ok... I think you're gonna LOVE THIS....
you can actually RENT precise COPIES of the real thing here!

OK, back to my homework.
So, friends, what are my weaknesses? And, would it be wrong to tell the vice president that at this stage in my life they're really choices, not weaknesses?

Oh, I bet that would be a unique response and get you noticed...not sure if it would be in a good or bad way though...

Just wanted to post a picture a picture we took today. We were enjoying some Dole Pinapple Whip. :yay:

L to R: Richard (my DH), me, Chris (Grandma x3), Tori (my DD), Matt (Chris' DGS), Lori (Chris' DD), and Mike (MagicalPins)
Love the pic:thumbsup2 Thanks for posting:goodvibes

Everyone here loves to read except DH. Right now DD is reading Twighlight by Stephenie Meyer. It's about vampires & is apparently very popular among the teen set right now. :confused3
I've read the series by Stephenie Meyer and found out recently that my brother and his wife have also. We were all a little embarrassed to find out they were considered teen books as our book store had them also displayed with the best sellers which is how we came across them. They are a very fun and easy read:thumbsup2

Looks like she is settling into the home very well. Its almost like she's always been here!
He really looks comfortable there. Must be a good match;)

What do the other California DISers do when we can't make to DL for the DIS meet? We have our own DIS meet on the beach :yay: After all the beach is probably the only thing that could come close to DL or WDW right. Tom (CaptainCrash) invited us and travelnfam (Janelle, DH Lindsey (sp?) and their two children to a beach gathering today. We had a great time with Tom BBQing and the kids playing in the surf. We lit a bonfire and roasted marshmallows and made smores. What a great day chatting and getting to know each other. Tom and Alicia were very gracious hosts. Thank you very much for a wonderful day. What would a day at the beach with Tom be without photos. So here is my offering before he gets home and post his.

Great pics Roger:thumbsup2
I love the beach early in the morning and at sunset:cloud9:

I don't know how he'd pull through surgery. He was just put on blood pressure medication last month. He's fairly healthy other than memory loss, but he's getting pretty old now.
Hope it all works out:hug: Sending our prayers too.

You got it Monica. :wizard: Let us know how your Dad makes out, ok? My Dad put off hernia surgery a few years back, because the recovery would interfere with golfing ;)

Sounds like my DH. He needs a hip replacement, but insists that it can't be during basebal season:rolleyes:

Actually they were also on an end cap at our local bookstore & not with the teen books & there was no description to indicate that it was geared towards teens. I think anybody would assume it was an adult book. My DD insisted all her friends were reading it, but I asked at the counter if it was appropriate for a 14 y/o & they assured me it was.

DH still thinks he's a future astronaut!
From my KSC trip report:

Is he gonna get it pierced too?
I know it is scary, but he'll be fine Monica.

Fun Trip report day! My DS and DH got to see a live shuttle launch in 2001, we were lucky to be on our first WDW trip and I found out there was a launch!!! Since our oldest was very interested in those types of things and was 9, DH took him to Cape Canaveral while my parents and I watched the launch from the Carribean Beach resort pool with the other kids! It was very very awesome for us as the staff let us know where to watch for the shuttle and a lifetime experience for them.

On a sad note, we were in Tampa at Busch Gardens in Spring 2004 on our way to a relaxing vacation on Sanibel Island and we were waiting to hear the shuttle go overhead on its way home and we never heard it, we then heard from a security guard that it never landed and was most likely destroyed. A very vivid life memory for me...we were so sad!

I would love to see them (and any of your other WB cruise pics)!

Cool - I'll post later this evening. Have to take the pictures when the girls are asleep as they don't know that I got candy! :lmao:

Is this four or five figure candy? Yeah, you'd better show or Susan will kill me if there's candy to be had and I don't tell her about it :rotfl2:

Andy

Andy - actually it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be - it actually only hit a low 4 figure on the 1st and 3rd one - actually DH got off supercheap on the 2nd one. I got him a good deal! :lmao: Compared to what he wanted to get me - he got off easy. And the only reason he wanted to get me that dreams pendant was because the girls weren't with us.

All in all, it was cheaper than a Ducky Williams original painting! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: So you see, I actually save him some $$$ (that way I can spend it on the EB) :thumbsup2

Oh yeah, here's a bit of good news for the guys, according to the guy at Milano Jewelry store in Cabo, which is where Pippa recommended I get my tanzanite of the color I really wanted, it is out of season there right now. They just got done sending their best tanzanite stones to Alaska for their season which has just started - May - Sept is their time. Which I can attest to that - I got my pride and joy Tanzanite - a 3.25 tanzanite back in 2000 for just under $2500 reduced from $4200. They were desparate to make a sale (Little Switzerland) - it had a deep purple red flashes that I wanted and we later saw the same ring but 1/2 the stone size for $8000 in the Caribbean later that summer so again, I saved DH tons of $$ on that ring. :rotfl2: :lmao:

K remember you are getting off at PC not LA so hopefully it will be easier.

Yup! That's what Brent kept saying - it will be long since we are not in PC, and as we all know, LA is just a bit more paranoid than some other ports - don't know if that is good or bad yet but that hour long wait was a bit long.

Cool the girls are gone - let me see if I can bring out the camera.

Crash - DH says he doesn't need any help from you encouraging me as I seem to do rather well myself! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We love those two rides -- they are probably our favorite WDW rides. ANd there is a new (to us) Playhouse Disney show for Clarie......

We are having some people from Germany stay a week or two with us in October!!! LOL!!!
That will be a fun thing for your 16ds. All 3 of our older children have spent time in Germany (Black Forrest area). In fact 17dd & her 18 yr cousin (when they were 14/15) spent 2 wks over Christmas there. They spent a day or two at the local school answering questions about... TEXAS! Germans love TEXAS!!! :rotfl2:

.

We saw the new playhouse Disney show in March and we loved it. It was similar in format to the old show but with charachters from the new shows. It was fun!

I went on a trip to Germany when I was a teen, so I am excited for him to do the same! He is really shy though, so it will be an awesome life experience for him.

We will have to discuss this further on the ship!

OK dinner is done and it was delicious!!!! I made stuffed NAPA CABBAGE ROLLS!!! OMG I impress myself with my culinary skills...MY son said it was better than his pulled pork from SMOKEY BONES last night.. I am so happy I can cook!!!

This just really cracked me up for some reason! :)

We are doing this one. It has ziplining but also has rappelling down waterfalls, a speedboat ride, a Unimog ride and a burrow ride :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

My hands are now sweating at the very idea of doing the ziplining or the rappelling down waterfalls!!!

I picked up a new sundress at Penneys today, $30.00.

Cute! I love sundresses!!!

Won this for DH on Ebay...figured it will change up his tux a little for the 2nd formal night.

Love it!

Spoke with my mom. My dad will be having surgery on June 19th. The doctor didn't have any misgivings about the surgery. Said my dad would handle it just fine. It will be an outpatient procedure. And, my dad has had an outie belly button his whole life, a big one too. Well, since they'll be in there already, they are going to fix that too.

Prayers said!!

OK, back to my homework.
So, friends, what are my weaknesses? And, would it be wrong to tell the vice president that at this stage in my life they're really choices, not weaknesses?

That would so make a good sig line....

Were you watching earlier when they scored on themselves??
Not good.

I saw that! :(

just googled myself. Nothin' incriminating there.

You are cracking me up tonight!!!

Then fast forward a few years and I surprised him with a week at Space Camp in Huntsville. He's gone twice now. He has wanted to be an astronaut since the Columbia disaster. Odd that such a disaster would make him want to do that job? I've done whatever I could to encourage this dream. He's held on to it for 5 years now. For a kid his age to have a consistent dream like that, I figure he's pretty into it.

I heard that when it happened. I was sitting at my computer when there was a *boom*. I thought someone had hit a transformer near our home. Oldest ds and some friends drove out to East TX the next day to look for debris.....

So you are the lurker.::yes:: I did not know you were lurking!!!;) BTW did Stephanie ever contact you???:confused3 I told her too!!

That's on my To-do list this week! LOL! I spent the day with Samantha & Claire at Hawaiina Falls (they opened one less then 4 min from my house!!!) Poor Elvis still had a sunburn on his shoulders from Friday.

I missed a lot of the last thread.

based on the WB cruise, is everyone cancelling the DCL cliff divers excursion?

Nope! We won't have the film crew and ours is early morning........ Totally different as far as I'm concerned! LOL!

Speaking of jewels - does anyone want to see my candy I got in PV and Cabo? Just to give anyone ideas out there that is! ;)

Of course we want to see it!! LOL! DH buys me way too much jewelry as it is! I am not a big jewelry person. He goes to Hong Kong once a year.....But, I do love to see what others buy! :thumbsup2
