Hmmmm . . . all this talk about traveling on Papa One has me thinking. What do you think? Is it me?

It's SO you!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2

It's going to be time for an American pope . . .

I just wanted to share with everyone how completely cool, and astonishing, and gratifying this community is. There's no one "in charge",
yet everyone contributes what they can and no one feels compelled to do more than they are able. (At least I hope not.) We are each doing what we do best, and relying on others, with different strengths, to cover the rest.

Step back and look at what we've accomplished... website, topical forums, group clothing, group cruise navigators, activity books for the kids, special little surprises for each other, shared artwork, large and small group dining, loads of information on each port, shared excursions and experiences, more onboard activities than any one person could attend, and the list goes on, and on.

This is a huge undertaking and accomplishement for a group this size, and yet it has come together naturally. Growing and changing depending on the people involved.

We are such a testament to what a group of people can accomplish when they come together in a spirit of mutual understanding, support, tolerance, and yes humor plays a role. Yes, we've had our squabbles, but we've worked through them - gaining understanding and enriching ourselves through the experience.

I am so completely grateful to be a part of this community. And to have this experience with all of you.

Many thanks. :grouphug:

You are so right! I've never been a part of something like this before and it is so neat. I don't know what I'm looking forward to more, a great vacation or meeting all of you! :grouphug:

You're still not thinking big enough. If I'm Pope, I'll be flying on Papa One, so I can take whatever bags I want.

As a matter of fact, I can take whatever passengers I want -- you want a ride? :rotfl2:

Yes, your Holiness.

Can you imagine the media uproar if the Pope decded to take 2 weeks off for a Dsiney cruise??

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. - Margaret Mead

Although I doubt Madge was talking t-****s and shots around the ship.

Nope. The staff is the real deal breaker.

Just hack it off and pretend, like Todd does with his sword.

The story of my life!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

OK, I'm just glad that someone is doing a roster. . . I just know that at least half, or more, won't put up an FE but that doesn't mean they don't exist, or don't deserve the dry erase board!

Julie, I think Crash in his bargin hunting madness, had that in mind!:thumbsup2

I think it looks like you have a Fabergé egg on your head.

Hey Jo (ga9497) - and anyone else interested

I saw your post on the Who's Doing thread. Here's some notes I've found about Puerto Vallarta. I've spent some time there, so I've already done the city highlights so this is what I'm thinking for us. Just thought I'd share in case anyone else is interested.

There are quotes I took from cruise critic

Thanks Monica - we have been to PV too but it was on our honeymoon 16 years ago. We really enjoyed the place that we figured we would just go and either hire a taxi to drive us around to what we want to see or head over to the Westin Marina and use their facilities for the day. They are charging $15 per person. We definitely want to go into town and just walk around for a while

So well said Esteri. I'm not as good with putting it in words, but that was exactly what I was thinking when I typed my last email. Thanks for putting in words for me.:goodvibes

As I mentioned a few months ago, we had issues with one of our son's teachers and after trying to resolve the issue several different ways, we ultimately made the drastic decision to switch schools. We're so glad we did.

Yesterday was "field" day at school. The kids had a great time as the school (on a very limited budget) did a great job with it. They had a police escort and a torch relay to start it off. They had each class design a "flag" and carry it in just like the Olympics. After singing the Star Spangled Banner, they even had military flyover (The PE teacher had worked since September to get permission for a helicopter from a local base to fly over the school!).

The number of parents and volunteers was great. It was just such a welcome change from my DS's previous school which is only about 3 miles away, but had very little parent involvement and a school administration that put little "extra" effort in.

Esteri.. you said it ... you and the whole board are awesome.. Thank you all for letting my family be part of this excursion... :goodvibes

I know he did -- but he was posting that there were so few people listed on the FE list, and how else would they get their dry erase board, etc. I tried to say a few times that the dry erase board should be based on a cabin roster, not on the FE list because I know a lot of people don't do an FE. Then I wasn't sure if anyone was doing a cabin roster, and got nervous -- but Lisa rode up on her shining charger and rescued us all, as she so loves to do . . .:lmao:

Which crash site is on your ranch? We know of Jim Ragsdale, and Corona... ? Do you dress up your stumps too? Ours are more casual where we live :lmao:

We were saying how surprised we were that Roswell doesn't capitalize on it more, in fact! It's really just the area around the museum.

OMG! Looks like McDonalds has been remodeled since I was there 2 years ago. :rotfl2: It cracks me up that you only noticed a few things. Did you notive every single street sign has aliens on it? :rotfl2:
I am not sure what the site at our ranch was called? Jim Ragsdale was the one about 10 miles from us. Basically our contribution to the museum was a lovely letter stating we know nothing, we know nothing (In my best Sgt. Schultz voice). ;)
My Dad just got back a week ago from visiting family in Roswell and he was stating Roswell was even more bulit up than 2 years ago.
I always think it is more than a coincedence that every UFO "sighting" is remarkably close to an a Military base. Hmmmm...:rolleyes1
I remember that McD was open when I was in High School. We thought we were so cool to finally have a McD. :thumbsup2

I would like to echo this.... I am often credited with things like the website, etc., but I am just the "face" there are many others behind the scenes, who do the technical stuff. And the boards are great because all of you are cutting/pasting/posting on them.

Look at all the task forces and the number of people doing things, what a great wonderful group we have!

Thanks to everyone! :grouphug: :grouphug:
