Woo hoo.....Friday

Tomorrow we zip down to LA; taking DD to see Wicked as part of her birthday prezzie.

Andy (Don't make me get my flying monkeys)

dropping in to say hello and :wizard: WELCOME:wizard: to all the new pirates!!!!!

for the FE gifts I was thinking of doing a couple things themed to ports, etc and handing them out at that time but now I am thinking of just combining everything and delivering it all at once. Maybe over the course of a couple nights!!!!

we are definitely getting the black t-******, but not sure about the white ones. Probably won't meet up for sail away, it is too embarrassing when I start tearing up!!!!!! I will leave that for DH and DD to deal with!:)

man, wish I could get Palo brunch without standing in line that first day, but I get the idea many of us are in the same situation!

have a great weekend everyone!!!!pirate:

A friend at work just went thru 3 weeks of Epidural shots for her disc problem and is pain free. Did DH get the shots as well???

Yes, and he highly reccomends them!!! It was a life saver for him. Now if they can figure out somehting better then surgery for the missing discs.....;)

I really feel for all of you that constant pain. I can not imagine what that must be like!

Now there's a great place we could meet. Or some place in Grapevine.

That sounds like a plan! :thumbsup2

And just an FYI after I mapqest your town & Bip's.... I am directly in the middle between y'all! LOL! It takes about the same amount of time to get to either place BUT, the drive to her area is soooo much easier traffic wise. :thumbsup2 That and I'm very familiar with her area! LOL!

The next time I cut mine, I'll send them to you! I have to use steroid eye drops for my glaucoma. The side effect is that it makes my lashes grow like mad.

To bad it wouldn't work for my bald spot on the top of my head! :)

LOL! I took a bunch of pics last night of the IL's house (they are building a beautiful limestone house next door to us) and in a couple of the pics DH is really close looking at fossils.....in a couple of pics you can see the top/back of his head.....WHen he was looking at he photos he says *Hey! I have a spot that is going bald!* He was not happy! LOL!

My parents have a "normal" but large suburban lot in Flower Mound and they are getting a tidy sum for Cherokee drilling in their subdivision common pool area.

That's great! I really don't know how I feel about all this drilling BUT, if they are going to do it I might as well get a check! LOL!

This just equals free fence. :)

I was going to say the same thing! LOL! :rotfl: :rotfl: I don't have a back fence on that house anyway...we lost it in a tornado a few years back (5?) and since behind us is 8acs of field.....we just left the fence down! LOL! The people that own the field have a wire fence up.

I just got my breakfest ready for me and the bird and the phone rings. I have a Drs appointment for a Pre-op surgery next week. at 9am.. its 9:15 when they called.. OOPS:confused3

Oh well. All is back to normal now. Glad I only live 5 min from the ofice and not like 45min..

Andy (Don't make me get my flying monkeys)

Have a great time! 17dd saw Wicked a few years ago fro a friends b-day.

And PLEASE don't threaten me with ::::::::flying monkeys:::::: to this day I get greeped out by them in the movie! :scared:

I don't think everyone on the list could possibly imagine giving stuff out to EVERYONE on the list- especially more than once. We're involved in the kids secret mickey and already with just 3 kids doing this (and this is every night, far as I know) we have so much stuff to take!
I do have a few things to put in the FE's and some special stuff too- but not one for everyone multiple times throughout the cruise. :( can you imagine how much stuff that would be to bring? especially if you have to bring it thru the airport and all this extra bags fees and stuff. :(
Might be able to buy some stuff cheap at some of the ports though. LOL

OK, now I'm confused :confused3 :confused3 ....

I thought when you signed up for the FE Exchange you *were* making a commitment to exchange with each cabin that is also participating, no? Or, is this just a pick and choice type thing - I thought that is what the SM was all about???

We had a pretty big group on the last cruise and it takes quite a bit time to make the rounds so I will only be delivering once during the cruise which will take me a few days (at least).

Hopefully this will work.

Info also posted on pirate zone, under On Board Plans - Day to be Determined in the Group Tastings Thread.

Attached is the current list of participants. Let us know if anything is not correct.

There are a few names that are bolded and have a not to the far right. If it says "no selection" then you didn't tell us what you requested. If it says "which one" then you indicated your choice with the word or so we don't know exactly what you are requesting. Please email your corrections to Laurie at mrsscoobie@yahoo.com.

It worked just fine! I could even access it at work which was a pleasant surprise. Thanks Monica and Laurie for organizing this and you have us down correctly for the entire "lush" series!

Reminds me of Alex, the parrot who could talk so well and taught us a lot about avian intelligence . . . sadly, he died recently . . .

What a beautiful friend you have there!

Its funny, I was reading about ALEX in the DR office this morning in a NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC mag.. He died in September. I would love LOLA to talk like that. I have some baby music toys hanging on her cage that goes over colors , Abcs and numbers as well as a list of songs on the PC that I put on when I leave home. She is my second parrot. I had a DOUBLE YELLOW HEADED AMAZON that died last January and I missed her so much that we bought LOLA as a chick and hand fed her, since last JUNE. Now she eats everything....

I think I will be doing this too....delivering a one time thing, takes alot of time.

If Laura is gone for the SM, can I still send my information to Pamela?

Speaking of reading, thanks to whoever posted about the Percy Jackson book series. We were able to check the first 3 books out for DS from the library and he finished them in a week! He just started on the 4th one today. :thumbsup2

Kim

You're welcome! I'm glad others are enjoying them as much as my kids. We found out about them at the book fair when my DW asked what was popular for pre-teen boys right now. I ended up reading them myself to find out why he was reading them so quickly. My oldest DS has read the 4th one, but I haven't. However, he wants to tell me all about it including the ending and I have to keep hushing him!!

We got the first one for our DD and she whipped right thru it..she bought the next two from money she had from her birthday. She has to wait on #4...hardback and to expensive..she wants them for her collection (the kid has like 200 books in her bedroom!) She is now on a series where the main character is Septimus Heap. The first book is called Magyk. It's has to do with wizards and magic and such...

She is enjoying those now.

Have you tried Amazon.com for the hardback?

Where did you get the fonts?? I have never done anything like this and will probably need DS to assist me.

I searched Walt Disney fonts and found it...I will see if I can find it again.

that is how I took it as well. I took it that it was an exchange.

Fish Extenders are getting confused with Secret Mickey. They are 2 separate actvities.

FE - when you sign up, you are commiting to at least 1 item per cabin/family. If you choose to do more, or add special items for kids, etc, that is up to you.

SM - you will be assigned 1 person, you will drop little gifts off for that person throughout the cruise. I believe there is a minimum of $25 spent (not exactly sure on the amount of this one).

Hey Christopher - I was just thinking about you. From what I can tell, you're not near the tornado area, but is everything ok? Family all ok?

Just a final reminder - today is the deadline for the lanyard order.

They are $1 each - you can pay me on the ship. Please PM me with your information (including cabin number if you have one)

Have a great day!

M-

You guys doing anything this weekend.... DH was thinking of going on a picnic on Sunday or Monday down to Gravelly.... We'll probably bring Abby too.

(of course i'm putting my vote in for Sunday because of the traffic on Monday)

Sounds good for Sunday. I'm working Monday - swapping my day off for June 6, so we can have a 3-day weekend without the traffic.

Its funny, I was reading about ALEX in the DR office this morning in a NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC mag.. He died in September. I would love LOLA to talk like that. Very cool DH has always wanted a parrot. I told him when we got married that if he ever screened for command of ship, I would buy him a parrot. The Captain needs a parrot. His command tour ended up being a shore-based unit with 8 small boats. I offered to buy him 8 parakeets, but he declined.

I think I will be doing this too....delivering a one time thing, takes alot of time.

If Laura is gone for the SM, can I still send my information to Pamela?

I think we hashed this out a long time ago & most people agreed to delivering one thing per cabin on the list for the entire cruise. Of course if some people have the financial means, the time, and the energy to be more generous, I don't think anyone would stop them! But the idea is that you at least bring something small for each FE.

I will be giving stuff to everyone on the FE list! At least once but, I believe I have enough for a couple of times. I am hoping to get a few things so that I can do the kids on the list more then a couple of times. :)

Everyone still thik we will end up around the 100 mark on FE?

Did you got to the musum in Roswell??? My family has a statement in the "International UFO Museum" stating we know absolutely nothing about a spaceship crash on our ranch. Our ranch was listed as one of 2 sites that they state the "UFO" landed.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Yes we spent some time at the "International UFO Museum and Research Center". Sydney had fun running round since it's big and open. They actually added a library since the last time we were there. DH actually wanted to tour the landing site but they were closed due to private property and such. It's impossible to read everything they have on the walls there but it's so funny that you guys are quoted as saying that :) We met a CRAZY lady running a store down the street. She was telling us how she doesn't believe in all the alien nonsense, but decorates her house with alien heads and such because she is scared of her neighbors. She also had some trees cut down but left the stumps tall so that she could put tuxedos on them and alien heads..... She must've been bored because she kept talking and talking to DH :rotfl2:
