OOOooohh Cool! Thanks for posting!

So I have a question. Does anyone worry about posting too much personal info online like some people do? Like real full names and real cities that you live in?

What about for the magnets? It just seems like a bad idea to have all the first/last names on the door for everyone to see...

Has anyone ever had a problem with doing either of these? Maybe I worry too much!:confused3

Hi Everyone!

I just joined. We're booked on the TOAL Eastbound Panama Canal Cruise. We booked the first day( way back when) but I just started looking for information about the cruise and you certainly looked like a fun bunch. I managed to get a Palo brunch, tea and dinner and most of the shore excursions I wanted. We have everything but a stateroom assignment. How many of you are still just on a guaranteed status. We're guaranteed category 5. There is way too much information to go through to see if a lot of you are still at this status. It seems that if they are now selling more cabins they could at least get the original reservations a stateroom assignment. We're also interested in the Mr. Emerald Cartgena tour. We like to take a tour and then have some time to look around on our own and find the Hard Rock Cafes for souvenirs. Our anniversary happens to fall on the Puerto Vallarta day and I booked the Rhythms of the Night Shore Excursion. It seemed like a romantic thing to do. Is anyone on that excursion? I now noticed the Sunset Cruise and that sounds romantic too but it is now filled. This is going to be one great cruise and as you say a TOAL.

ditto.. I'm not fond of black anytime really but definitely not in summer!

dh is saying if we can afford it we should go ahead and get the black and forget about the white for panama canal (we're not fond of white for any of us really and the kids most likely won't be standing out to be seen for any good portion of the day anyway!) He thinks we should get black and just wear them and then take them off at the earliest opportunity- and then wear them again on pirates night and such.
But I'm like hmmm... we'd have to wear it practically all day! From the time we get ready to leave on the bus to the port, while at the port, embarkation meet is what- 3pm? then the drill- we'd practically have to wear black shirts all day even if we had time to change out of them immediately after the meet on deck 10. and I don't like the idea of being on deck 10 in a black shirt...

well just be assured that there will be one more in white (then again....perhaps I'll still be the only in white :rolleyes1 )

IDK if you worry too much. PART of me worries a little about decorating our kids room with all the kids names, their fish extender, etc. If we put pictures of them then people would know that's the KIDS rooms? I suppose we could somehow make it look like it's not just kids. I dunno. :confused3
But I'm not worried about putting our last names on the rooms- I don't see how that would endanger us on the cruise and I really don't think it will endanger us at home either. yanno?
I don't know about posting last names AND city we live in on the door though. Just don't see the need to give out THAT info. why does anyone care what city we're from? Maybe put texas on there somehow.... but texas is a big place. (and plenty of people live here with our last name LOL)

HI, glad you're joining us!
there is a link (probably on the first page of this thread) where you can go see about joining the Mr. Emerald tour and also another link to see where everyone is going/doing on this cruise.

We're signed up, atleast for the moment, on the Rhythms of night excursion also! Sounded romantic to me too and something we could do in the EVENING since all the other excursions are all during the day at the same time. LOL

Same thing I had to do with ruby's band! Highschool band camp starts here August 4th! So she'll be able to go to the first week- but that's it. Hopefully it will work out okay for your daughter too!

I think the director and some of the moms will think I've got a "Disney Addiction!":lmao: In March of 2007 we missed the big fundraiser because of our DCL Western. I'm going to email her and follow up with her at the meeting. They are allowed 2 absences per semester, so dd will have her's in right away. I feel sorry for the kids in some of the sports, they start the end of July.

Okay thanks for the responses but I'm asking if anyone is wearing white on embarkation day- someone else said some people were- I'm asking if that is true.
I know most people are wearing black- so there is really on need to post if you're wearing black- I'm asking if anyone is wearing WHITE - I already know most people are wearing black. :lmao: Trying to make sure we wouldn't be the ONLY people in white.

I'm only getting the white. I have more t-****s than brains! LOL! So you won't be the only ones in white. :thumbsup2

well just be assured that there will be one more in white (then again....perhaps I'll still be the only in white :rolleyes1 )
LOL
Well maybe all us "not in black" can still feel a kindred spirit in others not in black. But DH is trying to talk me into black. He likes black though. ugh

Heyyyy how did you arrrange transportation to hotel/etc. already? i'd love to know..... I need to arrange transportation for us to hotel on Monday, DH on Friday, all of us are going to the port on the bus group with everyone else... but then need transportation from port to airport. Please le tme know how you arranged all those transportations already?

We are renting a car from Avis at the LAX airport and returning it to the Avis near Disneyland. We are also going to rent a car by the port in Florida and drop it off at the airport, as we fly out of the Sanford airport.

:welcome:

A lot of us are still GTY also. The WB did't get their room assignments until about 30 days out I think. I was a GTY 10, but we upgraded last week to a Cat 5, and that came with a room.

Enjoy it here..the thread goes really fast!!

We just got back from the new Indiana Jones movie. Gotta say- keep your expectations very low. I was not impressed. It is not like the other IJ movies. You would think graphics and movie techniques would have improved greatly but you would not know it by that movie. The only good part was when they opened the crate and it said Roswell, New Mexico on it. My home town.
I was not TERRIBLE, but disappointing.

Save your money.... just rent it.

Then rip it to DVDR... and you would have a fair deal...

Unless you have time to kill that is.

I am blonde so say it in a way that I can understand..lol:lmao:

If all else fails, go to any craft store (JoAnne etc) and you'll see sheets of magnetic paper. Print out a color pic of the one you like (or copy to disk and take to a place with better print quality where photos are done), and paste the image onto the magnetic paper and trim around it with sissors. You can do that....I would bet my.....hum....let's see....OH my DH on it ! :) :) :)

I haven't finished ketching up so I don't know if this has been posted yet, but I don't print my door signs on the magnetic paper. Last time, I printed them out on cardstock, laminated them and then just stuck magnets on the back. I used the magnets that come in a roll and put 2-4 strips on the back. They stayed on our door just fine.

You can use software such as Photoshop (and you can get a trial download of that so you don't have to purchase it :) )

I wanted to share what we do with our doors.
I buy the Magnetic Photo Holders that have the magnet on the back and the clear plastic sleeve on the front. They are thin not a picture frame. It is like a sheet of magnetic paper with a clear plastic sleeve/pocket on the front.
I get them at Michaels craft store. I have also found them sometimes at the Dollar Stores.
I make lots of different signs (sheets) to fit the many sizes these are available in. This only requires a basic printer to print on a piece of copy paper. Then we change our door each day. I do not have to keep buying magnetic paper for the copier.
People walking by always comment on the "changed" door.
I keep the extras in the pocket behind the one to display. We re-use them cruise after cruise. Just print new sheets to go wih that cruise.

Oh, that's a good idea too! Thanks! :)

Kim

Do you have a link to that?

<a>http://adobe-photoshop.en.softonic.com/download </a> <br>

and when you do, it typically is a matter of opening up the image you want, and starting to choose fonts and such to add to your image. I bet there are a lot of us out here who have used it and can give you some quick directions once you have it. PM anytime....someone else may also have another suggestion :)

I was diagnosed with scoliosis yesterday - mild. Good news is no degnerative disc disease, yet. But it explains why after being "fixed" (from a car accident in 2000) by my chiropractor and massage therapist - I have to continue to see them. Guess I'll be keeping them in business for some time. :rotfl2:

I'm glad that you don't have degnerative disc disease - dh has it and is missing discs in his back and neck. :sad2: He has always been very athletic and he can no longer play Hockey (on a team) or ride certain rides...... Luckily he can still skate with out pain! :thumbsup2
He also has a problem with migraines .....

IDK if you worry too much. PART of me worries a little about decorating our kids room with all the kids names, their fish extender, etc. If we put pictures of them then people would know that's the KIDS rooms? I suppose we could somehow make it look like it's not just kids. I dunno. :confused3

Our last name is REALLY common. I've always been upfront online about our names, etc... 15 yrs and no problems.

I remember about 5 yrs ago dh received a phone call one day and then the *kid* posted on one their boards *Ha, Ha I called Zirc's house!* Dh posted back *So, everyone here knows my name and where I work. They could do the same thing if they wanted.* ;)

I've also met quite a few people IRL that I had met online.... Including driving to Austin for the weekend to hang out with a group of women I met on an AOL board! LOL! And that was 12 yrs ago!

A few years ago our oldest DS & a friend of his drove to NC for a week to hang out with a couple of guys that they met online (they are friends of DH's, too. But, dh didn't think they wanted a *dad* to hang out with them all week!) -- it was a group they played Action Half Life with (dh & ds ran their own server and boards for the game).
