and when you do, it typically is a matter of opening up the image you want, and starting to choose fonts and such to add to your image. I bet there are a lot of us out here who have used it and can give you some quick directions once you have it. PM anytime....someone else may also have another suggestion :)

Thank you again. I will work on it this weekend and let you know.

Gee...

I see just under 80 cabins listed here (including my little sub-group of 8 cabins) ... and I KNOW we gotta have more DIS friends and neighbors on this voyage! You see... Downrivermama, MrsScooby, pdarrah, radioclash2, tiggrbaby and I have gone to great lengths < collective groaning may commence > to purchase 200 custom semi-hand made magnetic dry erase memo pads... so I'd like to ask EVERY lurking friend on our voyage to sign up - maybe hang a home made paper bag off their "fish" or whatever so we can shower you with surprise "treats"... and maybe a custom made magnetic dry erase memo pad ... that can double as a fridge magnet dry erase memo pad if no one steals it (or your pen) off the door!

< Collective groaning may now subside - now all at once ... everyone "Wink" and grin please >

Seriously, we were hoping to have a "gift" of a Magnetic memo pad for EVERY DIS neighbor who informs us of their cabin number. SO, no fish extender is needed! Since what we have to give requires NO fish extender. Plus, our DIS gift serves a practical purpose of providing a convenient spot for messages and taunts to be left for you from friends, neighbors and rascally Semi-Innocent folks.

I do mine in Word. I have never been able to figure out Photoshop and I consider myself pretty computer literate. It is easy in Word, just use text boxes or Word Art.

Terri, That is what my smart son just told me to do as well.

We just got back from the new Indiana Jones movie. Gotta say- keep your expectations very low. I was not impressed. It is not like the other IJ movies. You would think graphics and movie techniques would have improved greatly but you would not know it by that movie. The only good part was when they opened the crate and it said Roswell, New Mexico on it. My home town.
I was not TERRIBLE, but disappointing.

We visited the alien museum over the weekend :)

Welcome MusicalPooh . Any time is a great timeto join.

Ok I have a question about the magnets.. I know how to print them out.. but how do I personalize them for my family and me??

I am blonde so say it in a way that I can understand..lol:lmao:

Any help is appreciated..

You can use Microsoft Paint (which comes with Windows) or a website called picnik.com to do some basic editing - It's free.

You are absolutely right for like names under the image. I was SOOOOO thinking they were wanting stuff like logos and such where people might want words across/within/etc an image. ie: earlier they posted a "blank map" and mentioned we could edit that to our own calendar....in that case you'd need more than Word. SOOOO SORRY for jumping the gun on that one

What are some ideas for these fish extenders,...???What will be put inside them??

Are other people really wearing white shirts on embarkation day? someone posted that the other day.. just curious if others are really doing this?
I ask because I'd REALLY prefer not to sweat to death in a black shirt- but also it would surely help us financially if I didn't have to buy TWO shirts for each of us.... we could just buy white and wear it on embarkation day and panama canal day?
LMK!

well just be assured that there will be one more in white (then again....perhaps I'll still be the only in white :rolleyes1 )

I'm only getting the white. I have more t-****s than brains! LOL! So you won't be the only ones in white. :thumbsup2

Captain, Sounds Like We Have A Mutiny Forming...What next..DIS Green Bracelets?

OK Ladies, there's a husband in play here....

In our school they use "invented" spelling. They just let the kids spell the words however they want in 1st & 2nd grade. It was like nails on the chalkboard to me. I'm 12 years of catholic education. During the first parent teacher conference of 3rd grade, the teacher told me that my DS really ought to be better at spelling. I told her, if you're gonna' let the kids invent spelling for two years you really can't complain when they don't know how to spell.

 So...did 3rd grade teacher have a response? I could see her/him immediately changing the topic.

Happy Birthday Nate, Drew and any others who are celebrating.

At this point, it's kind of like jumping into a speeding car. Maybe you guys can practice in the parking lot first.
:lmao: :lmao:
I was thinking it was like trying to jump on a merry-go-round while still moving, but yours works better:thumbsup2

G'mornin' pirate:s.
My DS7 is now my DS8!! Sheesh where is time going? I am sooo not ready. At east he wants an easy dinner - chili. This is the first time in 3 years that he hasn't requested clam chowder and roasted acorn squash. He's an odd kid. I think we've hit toy saturation in our house. He could come up with anything to ask for for his birthday! We are giving him a family trip to Busch Gardens & 2 nights at Great Wolf Lodge in 2 weeks. We'll be on TOAL for DS9's birthday, so we needed to make a big deal of this birthday as well.

Hey M,
Chili is one of our favorites too:thumbsup2
I'm chaperoning DS's band field trip to Busch Gardens next week (30th). Too bad we'll miss you guys- gotta try for another DIS meet wth you and Kristina:goodvibes
We've wanted to try Great Wolf Lodge-let us know how you like it. (have you been there before ?)

We got the first one for our DD and she whipped right thru it..she bought the next two from money she had from her birthday. She has to wait on #4...hardback and to expensive..she wants them for her collection (the kid has like 200 books in her bedroom!) She is now on a series where the main character is Septimus Heap. The first book is called Magyk. It's has to do with wizards and magic and such...

She is enjoying those now.

I'll have to see if our library has that book. Sounds like something DS would like. He loved the Harry Potter series...read the first book in the 1st grade. We also have a lot of books in our house!

Where in Virginia are you ? My DSis is in Williamsburg and I try to go there once a yr and we do go to Busch Gardens..My DH and I got severly hurt on the WATER PARK ride MELT DOWN.. I basically got a new house out of it but lots of surgeries later for DH.. The price we pay for fun..

Have a great time there..

We had a similar conversation. Except it ended with: In this house the 1 gets carried. I don't care how you want to do it at school or with your friends. But when your here you'll carry the 1 and like it !! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We must have an old fashioned school. They carry... but I think it's part of how the concept was introduced in 2nd grade...

The King has many, many gems that he keeps in the King's Counting House. In the King's Counting House there are bags of many sizes in which to keep all the gems. When there are 10 gems in the small bag it's full and must be carried to the next room, where there are bigger bags. That middle bag holds ten of the small bags. When it is full it is carried to the next room...

I think the studetns may actually do this with small bags and little glass counters. Until, they finally move it to paper. I'll have to ask DS11.

I'm glad that you don't have degnerative disc disease - dh has it and is missing discs in his back and neck. :sad2: He has always been very athletic and he can no longer play Hockey (on a team) or ride certain rides...... Luckily he can still skate with out pain! :thumbsup2
He also has a problem with migraines .....

OMG, did I have problems with migraines. It was leftover from the car accident. I was getting about two each week when I started chiropractic care. All gone now, except the seasonal ones I've had for years and years. What a relief. I so feel for him!

You know, it really is amazing how it's all connected together. Have a problem with your neck, and you get migraines. A problem with your lower spine and your leg goes numb.

We (myself, 17dd & 10ds) were there this past August and had a wonderful time!!!!
They just built one near us and we are planning on going soon! We think Dh & 6dd will have a great time!

 So...did 3rd grade teacher have a response? I could see her/him immediately changing the topic.

Bright red face was her response. It was her first year as a teacher. At that point it was like playing hand grenades with a two year old. Some times ya just gotta let it go.

Go on the thread on the main cruise board and ask her to do it for you....

DH used to have a couple of torn/bulging discs (he did epidural therapy for them) and it would cause him not to be able to use one leg....he would literaly have to lean agaisnt a wall and use his hands to pull himself down the hall at work......

We are renting a car from Avis at the LAX airport and returning it to the Avis near Disneyland. We are also going to rent a car by the port in Florida and drop it off at the airport, as we fly out of the Sanford airport.
aha- do you mind sharing how much it cost you? and I wonder what size vehicle we might need to fit all our luggage. That's my main concern.. finding transportation for me and 3 kids (and then later DH by himself later in the week) AND OUR LUGGAGE. we can't just jump in a taxi with all our luggage, can we? I don't see how it would all fit. LOL we filled up the limo last time pretty good and that was only for a 7 day cruise (although I expect we'll pack about the same amount and just wash clothes during the cruise this time- but this time we also have all the fish extender gifts/etc.)

I'm wit'cha girl!

wow I didn't know y'all were doing that. you guys rock!

well whoever doesn't sign up now you might find later or at the meet when we get there or something? I think not everyone keeps up with this thread to see the posts about it to get added on and some don't read the other board either. :(
