G'mornin' pirate:s.
My DS7 is now my DS8!! Sheesh where is time going? I am sooo not ready. At east he wants an easy dinner - chili. This is the first time in 3 years that he hasn't requested clam chowder and roasted acorn squash. He's an odd kid. I think we've hit toy saturation in our house. He could come up with anything to ask for for his birthday! We are giving him a family trip to Busch Gardens & 2 nights at Great Wolf Lodge in 2 weeks. We'll be on TOAL for DS9's birthday, so we needed to make a big deal of this birthday as well.

Well good. I'd rather exceed expectations than disappoint!

Good point.

I sent you a PM about Great Wolf Lodge :goodvibes

Or at least chocolate covered bacon...

Okay people.... I need help with these shirt sizes!
The chest width it says to times it by 2- but the biggest width is 34 and that's size 6xl! This can't be right.... is it? I know I can't wear no 6 xl- that's crazy! But 34 chest width isn't realy that big..... I'm confused. To get the 6xl to fit my chest I think this shirt would be longsleeved on me and down to my ankles! that's about how a 6xl would fit me. so I'm really confused on this...
I can't order any of our shirts until I figure this out. width of shirts usually means just across- not all the way around the body (ie: if your chest width all the way around was 34- the width would really be 17 on a shirt) is that not how it's done on these sizes?
HELP!

A 34 chest width (the number in the table on the shirt page in the shopping cart for the 6XL) translates into a 68 inch chest (34 x 2). That is 68 inches around the torso. 34 inches wide if you lay the shirt on a table and measure across it. That's a pretty big shirt.

So if you usually need, say, a 44 inch chest, you'd look for the shirt with around a 22 inch width in the sizing table.

Does that help?

So....what are you going to hang from your windows on Groundhog Day next year?

A possom??

Of course, my wife loves reading the rules and then dreaming up exceptions too....

"All mailboxes must be black" ... "hmmm this magnetic cover is not a part of mailbox, so hot pink....."

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Send pictures!

Now my children are linguistically challenged sometimes, sometimes to the point of wanting to strangle... such as "versus" - "Who are you versing today in your baseball game"......

Of course the latest is all the kids in the neighborhood asking "Can we play on the tramp?" Just thinking that when they are 14 or 16, this won't be as cute or have the same meaning.....

DS6 has some interesting turns of phrase.... "more better" instead of "better" and "next day" instead of "tomorrow". When we use tomorrow with him (like day after tomorrow) and he can't figure it out, but if you say next day-next day, he gets it right away. Sigh.

Versing? We aren't singing today....

OK, so every time they use it incorrectly they have to sing the team song?? :rotfl: :rotfl: That'll fix the problem in about a week and a half.

My poor DD (taken a few minutes ago)

Poor baby.

ouch that hurts :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I dunno. I think the lime green is quite nice against the black. ;)

There is a kid on my soccer team who says that every week "Coach, who are we versing today?". I cringe every time and say "We are PLAYING such-and-such". I am tempted to say "I don't know that word "versing", do you mean "who are we playing against?"

Is this the "new English" they are teaching in school, like the "new math"?

I remember when my ds first started to learn how to add double digits. I was helping him with his homework, and I said.....

"okay, that's right.....8 plus 4 is 12, so 2 comes down here and we carry the 1..."

And he said "No! That's not how we do it! We don't carry the 1!"

Me...."What do you mean, you don't carry the 1? How can you not carry the 1?!"

So, needless to say.....I have not been able to help him with his math homework since first grade.

There several on there I can use..i just need to find a sorcerer Mickey for my DH.

thanks again!

OMG....it drives me insane! As a college professor I feel like the idiot because this "new math" uses concepts that are completely above my ability evidently :)

Now I just need to figure out how to actually make magnets out of the ones I like :upsidedow
(non crafty person here)

If all else fails, go to any craft store (JoAnne etc) and you'll see sheets of magnetic paper. Print out a color pic of the one you like (or copy to disk and take to a place with better print quality where photos are done), and paste the image onto the magnetic paper and trim around it with sissors. You can do that....I would bet my.....hum....let's see....OH my DH on it ! :) :) :)

Lots on Google Images

Must be something with that word, Tom....lots of kids in our neighborhood misuse it as well. "Are we going to verse your soccer team?"

Do your kids say they did something "on accident?" My daughter says that and it drives me nuts. I always say it was an accident. Oh well, off to dd's softball game at 6pm.

Also big news. Katie is now a member of the Wyandotte Academy Youth Choir Ensemble! She got the letter yesterday and is in seventh heaven!:cloud9: Only thing is in looking at last years schedule, they start practicing the last week of August!:scared1: I guess I have to write another letter to the director.
