I really don't think my HOA would like my Corpus Christi Day (which is today) decorations. I tend to be a bit literal with my holiday decorations.

Now my co-workers are looking at me strange as I burst out laughing at this one.

Can you post a picture?:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Must be something with that word, Tom....lots of kids in our neighborhood misuse it as well. "Are we going to verse your soccer team?"

There is a kid on my soccer team who says that every week "Coach, who are we versing today?". I cringe every time and say "We are PLAYING such-and-such". I am tempted to say "I don't know that word "versing", do you mean "who are we playing against?"

:scared1:
I won't let DD6 get on her friend's trampoline despite her objections. And with good reason -- I had to pick her up from school this morning because she fell on the sidewalk going into school and has a bump on her head and will have a black eye. She has NO grace whatsoever. So much for her dreams of being a ballerina.

When my daughter was between the ages of 6 and 10, she would walk down the street and trip and fall over nothing. She took a huge chunk of skin out of her knee once, but there was nothing to stitch, the skin was gone, so she has a pretty big scar because of it. She did get glasses when she was 11 and between those and finally growing into her body, (she is tall), she doesn't really do that anymore. I know exactly how you feel though. She is on swim team, but other sports for her aren't so good. Her and I both frequently do smack ourselves on doors or doorways in our house. You think we would know our way around since we have lived in the same place for 11 years, but maybe the house is moving?

Versing? We aren't singing today....

Hey M - did you get the PM I sent?

Pamela

Thought I responded, sorry - I'll go do that now.

Actually I thought about that too around Halloween time , but since we found someone to actually do the printing of the shirts I kind of scraped that Idea ... Figured those that knew how to do it would just do it themselves and those that dont would order them .....And I cant now , no mustache ...LOL

pirate:

Bummer. I was looking forward to Captain Jack's Ironing Tutorial.

A little pricey for my blood, but otherwise I would love to try it. Confession Time - Sky-diving is on my Bucket List :cool2:

Sky diving is fun!

Compensating for the size of his sword?

:rotfl:

Now my children are linguistically challenged sometimes, sometimes to the point of wanting to strangle... such as "versus" - "Who are you versing today in your baseball game"......

Of course the latest is all the kids in the neighborhood asking "Can we play on the tramp?" Just thinking that when they are 14 or 16, this won't be as cute or have the same meaning.....

:rotfl2: Tramp. Nice.

My kids tried the versing thing briefly. I set them straight. Their favorite thing to say now is "What the. . ." I tell them they'd better duck the first time they finish that sentence.

My cousin, back in 1993 was about 3 years old and was with my uncle, a contractor, visiting a couple of the houses my uncle was spec building. My cousin wanders off and is watching the plumber working in the kitchen. The plumber had removed the 2x4 from the sliding glass doors to let some air in and my cousin looks out and falls 10 feet to the concrete patio below, landing on his head, cracking his skull from ear to ear around the back (which allowed him to live). My uncle scoops him up, dials hospital on his "bag phone" and proceeds to talk, shift, keep one hand on son lying on front seat and drive to hospital where they work on my cousin then airlift him to Children's Hosp in Philly 100+ miles away......

Once he was discharged I think it was 3 or 4 years before he was allowed to play outside without a football helmet on....:lmao: :lmao:

Of course prior to accident, he never spoke and was shy. He hasn't shut up since...

Wow! How scary was that? I'm glad he's OK.
I'm guessing they'd rather have a chatty kid than the alternative.

Of course changing stars on flags into Mickey heads is perfectly acceptable.

(If not, don't look at my avatar.)

Breaking news about DL today from Magical Mountain

That sounds cool. When I started reading I was so worried that it was going to say Indy at DL would be closed all summer to work the new movie into the ride. We're excited about riding it again since WDW doesn't have it.

My mom was like that her whole life. She was the least coordinated person I've ever known and she bruised easily, so she was a mess! We always joked that she could trip over the pattern in a rug. Then she basically did it. Broke her ankle by tripping over the seam between 2 perfectly level slabs of concrete in our garage.

Oddly enough, she could jump rope double Dutch, something I was never able to figure out. :confused3

I can't seem to figure out how to post the photos here since they are in "my pictures" folder on my pc (not computer savvy at all). I have uploaded them to kodakgallery and can be seen here

Some of them were pirate: off the main Dis boards

Those are GREAT! If you would be willing to share any, please post. If not I perfectly understand as I am sure a lot of work went into creating these.

Yeah, I managed to break my wrist in 4th grade while dancing at a friend's b-day party (I was taking dance lessons at the time), fell off my bike at a friends' party while riding it downhill, in a dress, with no shoes (they didn't have bike helmets then), got a hip pointer doing ballet (normally a football injury), a couple years ago, fell down the stairs while carrying a cup of coffee (it didn't break or spill too much) and sprained my foot, then two weeks ago screwed up a disk in my back and I don't even know what I did to hurt that. Coordination just isn't in my blood which is why I don't play sports (even with my kids) and I guess why my sister doesn't really want me to have a cabin with a verandah! I just have to force myself to slow down and be careful. I kind of panicked last fall when my daughter said she wanted to be a cheerleader. I had horrible visions of trips to the emergency room. Worst thing that happened was someone fell out of a stunt without saying "drop" and fell on her nose--not too good for someone with glasses. We did get her contacts though over the winter. She seems to be doing ok now.:thumbsup2

Anyone is welcome to them. I believe if you have a picture up from the link you can right click it and choose "save as" and save it to your own computer.

They aren't my designs I found them while searching through the internet and some I pirate:'d from posts on the main board
