The only Tea avail was on the 29th so I booked it.

Reminds me of our first cruise in 2002. I sent Darren to wait on the Palo line while I waited on the Spa line. We used walkie talkies to keep in touch. I'm sure we'll see you on the Palo line this time:hug:
Maybe won't be so bad if we grab a drink first;)

I don't think we'll get this lucky this time around. But last year in the Med, I was one of the first 20 or so people on board. Had boarding group 4 or 5 or something, but tagged along with friends who were in group 2. Was a little disappointing because when they announced our name, there was no one around, we got on that early.

Anyway, go my mom some food and headed up to Palo (that's where they were lining up). Met Chris up there and there were maybe 3 people in already. We walked right up, ended up with PJ the manager. We were just trying to set up tea and switch my dinner to an earlier time. He put us down for the time we wanted for dinner. They don't usually go groups for tea, but he took down all of our information and said he'd get back to us. In a few days, he had it all worked out.

Like I said, I don't think we'll get that lucky this time. Don't think we'll get on board so fast so there will probably be a big line to deal with.

On another - happier note. Today is a momentous day for the sk8ingfam.

As of today, DH is

FIVE AND DIVE!

OK, not really by the standard definition of 5 and dive:

Five and Dive OR Five and Fly
(US) To graduate from a U.S. service academy, serve only the required five years on active duty, and then resign at the first opportunity.

DH graduated from CGA May 19, 1993 - so he can retire with full benefits at exactly 5 years from today! Technically he'll have 24 years in, but only 20 will count towards retirement.

Of course he's going to have to go out and get another real job in order to keep me in the manner in which I am accustomed.

Glad things are going your way Monica.

Finally got everything (except brunch) booked by 2 AM. Got the someone else in your reservation after 15 minutes. So got out and then I couldn't get back in. It said I was logged out and wouldn't let me log in or get to the DCL site. But when I finally got in it said I was already logged in even after I cleared my cookies and closed IE. So frustrating.

We have an excursion at each port and dinner at Palo on Panama Canal night.

Cheryl,
Did you get my PM?

Yes Teri, I will be calling you maybe tonight. The phone number shows unlisted and private but that will be me!! We testified in court against a Street Gang...so I never wanted them to find me!!:scared1: :scared1:

I have to go to meetings this afternoon and I am trying to get Garage Sale ready too!!:headache:

That would not be a bad idea today but have to go to my Candcer Survior Celebrations Planning Committee.:headache::headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: So far I set up all the lunch and who is catering it, I set up getting all the trinkets from Oriental Trading Company, I set up Free drinks from Pesi to be donated and I also got all the Table cloths and cups etc.donated. I also got Ty to donate bears foreveryone. So why is there 12 people on my committee if I have done all the work. This is for 200 people.

Isn't that always the way......Well good luck with your planning.

Oh, and POSSUM!

Congrats to both of you!!! :dance3:  :dance3: When he retires you do too?? Right???;) ;)

Time to get to work on my end - it was great having the chat and this board last night just to know that we weren't alone in the craziness that is DCL website :lmao:

We are booked on the following excursions
PV - Dolphin swim
Cartagena - Best of Cartagena

Cabo - on our own
Acapulco - Not sure what we are doing maybe just walking around on our own
Aruba - renting a jeep or car and going off on our own

Booked Palo dinner for our anniversary
Hoping for brunch and a tea

Gotta love DCL.

Do you think its a party of 4 vs party of 2 issue? I can't see any either.

Also, I'm now locked out (hope that means my TA is in there).

DCL refused to talk to me, told me I must go through TA. Then a quite rude supervisor got somewhat nasty with me (guess I shouldn't have told him to stop with the corporate lies when he tried to tell me they didn't expect this).

Uh-oh....

Counselor Tom, thank you for volunteering your cabin reservation to be redirected to the exclusive use of the cast members in the Corporate Lies Department here at DCL. Please accept this check as the balance of your deposit less penalty.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Yeah for him! Could you please congratulate him in five years for me? ;)

My dh retired after 20 years as an Army Reservist. Unfortunately, we have to wait a while for the benefits.

I'm excited for your dh and my dh to meet. They have the whole "Catholic, military dad from Ohio" thing in common. And bacon.

dude ... am i the only pirate here?

ok lost all my quotes...

M- Which catagena did you get? Los Americas for us...

Stace- thanks for sea lion info. That's going to be so cool. It'll make it worth missing dinner that night. (Maybe i should switch my Palo night to there instead)

On Aculpulco Dolphins- we took 8:15 time for two people because observer wasn't listed. (my dh does want to go as observer though. My TA is seeing what we have to do to switch him over.)

On the boat ride over to Las Caletas, you'll also be offered the opportunity to do a "resort dive".....at very little extra cost. Jay, Jared and I did it the last time. We thought we needed to at least try, since we're the last of the snorkelers in our group of diving friends. I enjoyed it, but don't need to do it again....I like the ease of snorkeling. Jay didn't do well because of his ears, but Jared LOVED it.
We're going to Las Caletas in June, and Jared wants to do the dive again. I'm going to just go swim with Sammy.

Another note.....Las Caletas also offers a Sea Lion Swim....not the "free" one where you can swim with Sammy in the snorkel area, but a "pay extra". You can read about it at www.vallartaadventures.com

If you want to swim with Sammy for free, be sure to be out in the water in the snorkel area, by the big floating dock, EARLY.

Well, you're in good company. Didn't Andrew and Tom already make their "list"?! :lmao:

Mike,

Since Deanna was citing Tom31s potential inclusion on this fabled "list" ... I can only take it to mean you see Andrew and I as already occupying this "mysterious" list. Gee... and I thought I was still on the INNOCENT bystanders list?! :confused3

And by the way... the use of my likeness and screen identity in the image here was taken without my spouses' permission. Of course, Andrews' inclusion may fit right in... < wink > So I'll be looking for whom to engage in lawful redress. Will the guilty party step forward and cough up 2 Mickey Bars please.

Okay, here is something interesting.....

I had asked earlier about Cabo del Sol, as I was trying to book it for my dad. It was not showing on the DCL website as an excursion you could book all morning.

So, I called DCL, and actually spoke with someone very helpful. She told me she would check into it and have someone call me back. So a little while ago, I did get a call back and was informed by yet another helpful CM, that he went ahead and booked my dad for this excursion. I wasn't able to get back into my parent's reservation until just a moment ago, and I noticed the time for the golf outing is 10:15am-5:15pm. Yet, we are only scheduled to be in port until 4:30pm. Is this typical? Does anyone else have excursion times that go beyond our scheduled port time?

Good morning everyone!

Wow, am I tired today - between plant sale, a bad cold and staying up WAY past my bedtime, this is a tough morning.

I was fairly lucky. I got booted out once, but managed to get everything I was after:

Excursions: Cartegena: Old CIty Walking Tour
Castaway: Stingrays 10AM
Palo: Dinner - Acapulco night at 7:30 (22nd)
Brunch - 24th at 10:30AM
Tea - 21st at 3PM

I did the Cartegena walking tour first, then Brunch and Dinner. Then I got booted out. Fortunately, I got back in fairly quickly (less than 10 minutes) and got Tea and Stringrays. I wonder if Chicago is on the AT&T or Sprint branch of the internet...

And she is taking her new best friend ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:woohoo:

Hey! I thought you were going to go to Tea with me if the group doesn't work out ;) I already told Dan that even though his name is on their right now, he didn't have to go :rotfl2:

Pamela

I am SOOOO looking forward to this port and excursion. Stace's review of it has me very excited about it.

I was thinking we will just come back to the ship and head up to Topsiders for dinner that night.

K....did you see the video I posted on the other thread? I just fond anouther one on You Tube that has some great footage of people swimming with the sea lion. I'm not going to tell my kids about that, and keep it a surprise. They will be thrilled!

Here is the link to the video I just mentioned...

Like I'd said.....just be sure that you are near the middle of the beach area....with a good view of the floating dock.....so that you'll see when they bring Sammy out. They don't keep him out there all day, and you don't want to miss it.

If you want to swim with Sammy for free, be sure to be out in the water in the snorkel area, by the big floating dock, EARLY.

Great info, Stace! My kids will love this! Please let me know if this excursion was just as good as the first time when you return from your June cruise.

Oh, and.......all ready for the wedding?
