Is that the excursion in the video? Or just some free sea lion coming to shore to swim with tourists? LOL
(and look at that little girl boogie down, earlier in the video LOL)

I bought the video from them of the day we were there. They taped us diving and they had a separate tape of different people throughout the day. I LOVE watching that video!! It was SOOO worth the money. I don't know how they did it, but we paid them for it there, and the videos were available for us to pick up at Shutters later that night. I wish I knew how to copy it and post it.

Las Caletas has a separate Sea Lion Swim, but they also have their own "resident" sea lion (Sammy) that they bring out to play for free.

Gotta love DCL.

Do you think its a party of 4 vs party of 2 issue? I can't see any either.

Also, I'm now locked out (hope that means my TA is in there).

DCL refused to talk to me, told me I must go through TA. Then a quite rude supervisor got somewhat nasty with me (guess I shouldn't have told him to stop with the corporate lies when he tried to tell me they didn't expect this).

OMG!!! How can they say that after all the emails & phone calls??? They are really something!

So sorry Tom! With all the work you do for us...you of all people should've got Palo brunch. I hope your TA can do something for you!

Not true about the upgrades. The Med cruise was my first ever. I booked on the first day, got first tier pricing. Then jumped on the Cat 12 deal, so I didn't pay that much. Still got upgraded to a 9 from a 12.

If someone spins me on the zip like they show at the end of the video, there's going to be some heck to pay

Yes, there are a lot of sea days, but I already know of 7 group brunches being requested. Then Crash mentioned that his TA is trying for some for his group and Jo has said something about her group. So many of the folks hoping for a group brunch are not going to get it.

Good luck everyone.

I have Tea and Dinner booked. It's letting me see more times for 3-4 tables at Tea, and 1-2 and 3-4 tables at Dinner. But at some points last night, Tea was greyed out for me even though I had it booked. So not sure about that theory.

Very interesting...and surprising that AT&T's trunks would be better. Didn't realize we had anything that was 'better'.

It was much easier for me last night than anyone else. I just thought my Tia mojo had something to do with it.

Seriously, it was pretty painless for me. I'm thinking maybe I might be turning the corner and starting to have good things happen instead of all the bad.

Well you certainly deserve it!

On another - happier note. Today is a momentous day for the sk8ingfam.

As of today, DH is

FIVE AND DIVE!

OK, not really by the standard definition of 5 and dive:

DH graduated from CGA May 19, 1993 - so he can retire with full benefits at exactly 5 years from today! Technically he'll have 24 years in, but only 20 will count towards retirement.

Of course he's going to have to go out and get another real job in order to keep me in the manner in which I am accustomed.

Woohoo! Congrats! That is how it works for the state police here, but not the individual cities. DH keeps hoping they are going to change that! I wish! :wizard:

I feel like I just gave birth. Exhausted!!!:lmao:

Monica grea idea:idea: This way we can always find a friendly face on our excursions!!:woohoo:

That would not be a bad idea today but have to go to my Candcer Survior Celebrations Planning Committee.:headache::headache: :headache: :headache: So far I set up all the lunch and who is catering it, I set up getting all the trinkets from Oriental Trading Company, I set up Free drinks from Pesi to be donated and I also got all the Table cloths and cups etc.donated. I also got Ty to donate bears foreveryone. So why is there 12 people on my committee if I have done all the work. This is for 200 people.

Sorry for ranting!!! I just get braced for annoyance everytime we have a meeting.:sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

It was starting out to be pleasant but I hate hearing all the trouble when I almost had a hassle free booking.

So sorry you had to do all the work! Not the same, but I am the head room parent for DS's class & I end up buying most of the snacks, always chaperoning, spending more of my money for the teacher's gift, etc. It does get old after awhile! :sad2:

My story:

I logged in & booked the cliff divers first because I was afraid that would be VERY popular, but sounds like it was still available this morning. Figures!

After that I kept getting the error message that someone else was accessing my reservation. After about 30 minutes, I got back in & got brunch. I clicked on 10:30 right away, but then saw 11:30 was available which I would've preferred, but when I went back in I couldn't change it. Oh well shouldn't complain since I got brunch & many didn't.

Got Palo dinner, but not really when I wanted (last sea day) & De Palm Island. Not spa people so I doubt I'll book any treatments.

Hope everyone gets what they want eventually! :wizard:

I can't book anything because I am on an existing Palo reservation and I'm not sure this will help anyone, but here is what I am getting for dinner (1-2 people).

Some times note: This date/time conflicts with other reservations that you cannot modify. Please contact someone from the stateroom that made the conflicting reservation.

Other times note:
No reservations available.

Tea is booked.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Yeah for him! Could you please congratulate him in five years for me? ;)

My dh retired after 20 years as an Army Reservist. Unfortunately, we have to wait a while for the benefits.

I'm excited for your dh and my dh to meet. They have the whole "Catholic, military dad from Ohio" thing in common. And bacon.

AND - he's a Buckeye fan! BIL went there.

Mike,

Since Deanna was citing Tom31s potential inclusion on this fabled "list" ... I can only take it to mean you see Andrew and I as already occupying this "mysterious" list. Gee... and I thought I was still on the INNOCENT bystanders list?! :confused3

iECABF4BF-CC7E-411E-885E-CE4A8213731A.jpg

And by the way... the use of my likeness and screen identity in the image here was taken without my spouses' permission. Of course, Andrews' inclusion may fit right in... < wink > So I'll be looking for whom to engage in lawful redress. Will the guilty party step forward and cough up 2 Mickey Bars please.

At last count due to the 'dud' fortune cookies you ordered for me, you owed me £8 million for missed lottery funding, but the independent arbitrator appointed by *you* awarded myself damages of 25 Mickey bars, and a Palo brunch:cool1:

I don't think we'll get this lucky this time around. But last year in the Med, I was one of the first 20 or so people on board. Had boarding group 4 or 5 or something, but tagged along with friends who were in group 2. Was a little disappointing because when they announced our name, there was no one around, we got on that early.

Anyway, go my mom some food and headed up to Palo (that's where they were lining up). Met Chris up there and there were maybe 3 people in already. We walked right up, ended up with PJ the manager. We were just trying to set up tea and switch my dinner to an earlier time. He put us down for the time we wanted for dinner. They don't usually go groups for tea, but he took down all of our information and said he'd get back to us. In a few days, he had it all worked out.

Like I said, I don't think we'll get that lucky this time. Don't think we'll get on board so fast so there will probably be a big line to deal with.
I'm hoping to get to the port early enough to be in the first one or two groups (after suites). If not I'm hoping the waitlist will pan out. I've heard a lot of people having luck with the waitlist:confused3

Congrats :cheer2: Maybe DCL will hire him;)

Got my confirmation from Jolly Pirates......we're in......
Congrats:cheer2: Glad things are looking up for you:hug:

Great info, Stace! My kids will love this! Please let me know if this excursion was just as good as the first time when you return from your June cruise.

Oh, and.......all ready for the wedding?

I can't believe that we leave NEXT WEEK!! :scared1:
Actually, I AM very calm (so far) and have a lot of things ready to pack. I've also gotten Jared's and my things ready to pack for the cruise the next weekend. I don't want to wait til the last minute.

Have an awesome time and can't wait to hear about it when you return

I wonder if Chicago is on the AT&T or Sprint branch of the internet...

My condolences to those who had so much trouble booking last night, but there really are not two sets of tubes splitting the country. There are many internet backbone providers, including AT&T, Sprint and Verizon. Here are maps of the AT&T and Sprint internet backbone networks.

Hey folks - I set up this thread on the pirate zone. I'm going to keep a list of who is doing what in each port. That way if you want to see who will be joining you, it will be readily available.

I know everyone is posting here, but it will get lost. So please head over there and post so it will be in one thread. And I'll create a master list from that.

Great idea Monica. Thanks! We'll have to check it out.

Isn't that always the way......Well good luck with your planning.

Oh, and POSSUM!

Tom -

In other news.... I noted to DH last night that the west coasters seemed to be having good luck and the east coast was toast. He commented that most people don't know there are really two internets. AT&T has a network, and Sprint has a network. The number of pipes between the two is limited. And, guess what, AT&T is primiarily in the west, and Sprint is primarily in the east. So, if the DCL servers are in LA (which would make sense) then the west coasters would be on the same internet backbone, while the east coasters wouldn't. This may explain some (though not all) of the problem last night.
.

Except.... that I was completely locked out of DCL (couldn't even see the home page) from here (West Coast), but was able to book succesfully once I logged onto one of our corporate servers (VPN) which is located in Florida!

IP Lookup suggests that the server is located in Washington, which would support this theory.

Good morning everyone!

Wow, am I tired today - between plant sale, a bad cold and staying up WAY past my bedtime, this is a tough morning.

I was fairly lucky. I got booted out once, but managed to get everything I was after:

Excursions: Cartegena: Old CIty Walking Tour
Castaway: Stingrays 10AM
Palo: Dinner - Acapulco night at 7:30 (22nd)
Brunch - 24th at 10:30AM
Tea - 21st at 3PM

I did the Cartegena walking tour first, then Brunch and Dinner. Then I got booted out. Fortunately, I got back in fairly quickly (less than 10 minutes) and got Tea and Stringrays. I wonder if Chicago is on the AT&T or Sprint branch of the internet...

Hey! I thought you were going to go to Tea with me if the group doesn't work out ;) I already told Dan that even though his name is on their right now, he didn't have to go :rotfl2:

Pamela

We could always do three too!!:cool1:

OMG!!! How can they say that after all the emails & phone calls??? They are really something!

So sorry Tom! With all the work you do for us...you of all people should've got Palo brunch. I hope your TA can do something for you!

I agree that Tom desevred a hassle free more than anyone because of all the work he has contributed to this thread. He is linked with me for private so we might have a chance!!

So sorry you had to do all the work! Not the same, but I am the head room parent for DS's class & I end up buying most of the snacks, always chaperoning, spending more of my money for the teacher's gift, etc. It does get old after awhile! :sad2:
SO you know exactly what I mean. You don't mind helping but what is everyone else doing??? I guess they just want a title.:lmao: :lmao:

You are great guru of the internet!!!! Thankgoodness for my new high speed and that I was in ATT netwrk!!

So when are we going to meet for dinner at say Sweet Tomatoes???:confused3

Who would look after incoming internet form the UK? Anyone know?

Not true about the upgrades. The Med cruise was my first ever. I booked on the first day, got first tier pricing. Then jumped on the Cat 12 deal, so I didn't pay that much. Still got upgraded to a 9 from a 12.

Actually, that was my point. The same thing happened to me. But I'd argue that a whole bunch of us paid the category 12 rate - there were so many that pricing became moot and they used other criteria (date of booking for example) - which is presumably why we got upgraded.

This time those who paid tier 1 pricing really are a relative minority. So pricing might play a greater role.

Of course, this could all just be speculation - it might be that upgrades really are handed out by the fairy godmother department on a random or whimsical basis :-)

I don't know how to quote from an old thread, so I had to manipulate it!
Anyways, any new info on the scrapping?

I used to be a Creative Memories Consultant, so I would be willing to help out with this. Send me a PM if anyone is interested.

--or send me a PM and point me to the leaders because I don't see the info posted anywhere ---but it could be buried somewhere in the old thread and I missed it!

Again thoose on GTY may have a slightly better chance of an upgrade but apart form that is DCL operational reasons.

IE If you were assigned a 'connecting room' and someone came along wanting one, then DCL would move you to help other bookings. Or if your outside room, was opposite a vacant inside room and someone requested that, you could be moved to assist.

Thats just one of many examples, where like a game of chess the 'bookings' themselves dictate the upgrades.

Going to head over to the Pirate Zone and input the Moms excursions. It looks like we'll have some company on at least a couple of them. :yay:

Then I really have to get some things done or I won't be so prepared for next week. Gotta stay on schedule!!
