Thank you so much, that is a great idea. I will give it a shot.

I am so sleep deprived....my adrenaline kept me up longer than i had to last night, and now I am trying to deliriously sort things through.

Does anyone know if there are any zipline adventures through Vallarta adventures that is later than 3:00 in the afternoon?

So basically, because I have dinner booked, I can see dinners. No brunch or tea booked, therefore can't see them?

Is anyone in that can give a list of available brunch times?

Tom the only one showing available is day 8 at 10:30am
This is by looking at a clients reservation that has brunch already booked and is allowing me to click on brunch to see other available times

Tom -
Brunch for me is showing for tables of 3-4 only. 1-2 is not available...

The only time I get is Sat Aug 30 at 10:30 which happens to be the day and time of our own ressie. Everything else is full. This makes me think that the brunches are, indeed gone, and the only reason I can see anything is to allow me to manage my own ressie.

This would make sense, and explain why folks with ressies can see "availability" what they are seeing is their own ressie - in case they want to cancel.

In other news.... I noted to DH last night that the west coasters seemed to be having good luck and the east coast was toast. He commented that most people don't know there are really two internets. AT&T has a network, and Sprint has a network. The number of pipes between the two is limited. And, guess what, AT&T is primiarily in the west, and Sprint is primarily in the east. So, if the DCL servers are in LA (which would make sense) then the west coasters would be on the same internet backbone, while the east coasters wouldn't. This may explain some (though not all) of the problem last night.

There is something definitely wrong with the system

If you have brunch, tea or dinner already booked it shows them available when you go into your reservation to view that area. If you don't have one of these booked it shows no reservations available for them

:confused3

I am logged in right now. I couldn't get brunch last night so I didn't reserve anything at Palo. The only thing showing available for me is Dinner for parties of 1-2. Brunch and Tea are greyed out. Same thing showing on DH's reservation. :confused3

That is way too strange
I have gone through everyone that I have booked on this cruise and anyone that was able to get a brunch, dinner or tea it still shows available to click on. Anyone that doesn't have a day reserved for these it is grayed out.

I just went through half of the reservations that I booked and this is what it is showing me.

We knew DCL's system was wacky but this definitely confirms it
Ok, good to know that whatever is going on is still their fault, kinda;)
Thanks:goodvibes

So in all honesty, do you think things will open up in the future? I made a mistake on one of my excursions and now it is booked up. What are the chances of someone cancelling and being able to still grab it in the future?

I think I am just wishful thinking at this point.....
I wouldn't give up hope. I have best of Cartagena booked and I'll cancel if the Mr. Emerald tour comes through. Not sure what you are hoping for though.
Have you tried booking the excursion privately yet -directly to a private company ?

Is the client's brunch booked for day 8 at 10:30am? See Esteri's note below...

Morning all....

After finding out we weren't "paid in full" and being completely locked out of the system for an hour and a half, :scared1: It was getting very frustrating especially watching the chatroom and seeing others getting in succesfully and booking the cliff divers tour.

All of sudden, DCL's website popped up and worked "normally" with very little of Mickey swimming.

We ended up getting all of the excursions we wanted::cool1:

Cabo -- Boat ride to Land's End
Aculpulco -- City Tour with Cliff Divers
Cartagena -- Best of Cartagena
Aruba -- DePalm Island Water Park

We were previously confirmed on the noon zipline at PV.

We also booked a night at Palo for my DW's birthday. Fortunately, we didn't really want to do the Palo brunch as we've done it on the last two cruises and thought we'd take a break this year. As it appears brunches were booked, will there be a mad dash on August 17th to signup on board?

I tried to get my DW to book a parasailing at Castaway Cay, but she wouldn't do it as she's terrified of heights like that. Oh well.

Hope everyone else got what they wanted or ends up getting it later!

That depends on your definition of success. The kids are both registered in the clubs. At the 84 minute mark or so I got into our resie for Palo and got dinner on 8/24 but not when we wanted. I would prefer brunch. At least we didn't have any excursions to book. It was quite frustrating to say the least to be locked out of the resie for so long. I called DCL this morning and talked to sup Alan. He said that they review the DIS boards and I told him that they should start listening to them more. The new system.....stinks badly (replace "stinks" with whatever appropriate term you feel should be there). :headache:

Well I am glad you are 'content' with your allocation, and well done for the prompt to DCL, they are tarnishin theirbrand name on this.

As a moderator I accept the word *stinks* we would use other words and you would delete it.

Hey KSdisneydad- our family will see you at DePalm Island.
hehe

Man i'm so tired now. I think i'm gonna take a nap or something. :confused3

Have those people who have gotten room assignments been assigned cabins in their category or are upgrades being doled out?

We're still GTY - which I'm assuming is a good thing at this point....

My understanding is that upgrades are doled out based on:
1. Date of reservation.
2. # of cruises taken
3. Amount actually paid.

(I think I read this last year on the Med cruise threads).

Unfortunately, things are not as good this year as then. Last summer I had booked on day 1, had paid the same as all the other cat 12's, and was on my 5th cruise or so.

This year I'm booked on day 1 - but so is most everyone else (do they take time into account? I was booked in the first hour).
Amount paid will almost certainly be less than people booking after.
# of cruises is about 6, which is ok.

So I'm hoping, but am not particularly optomistic about my chances....

Not true about the upgrades. The Med cruise was my first ever. I booked on the first day, got first tier pricing. Then jumped on the Cat 12 deal, so I didn't pay that much. Still got upgraded to a 9 from a 12.

I am SOOOO looking forward to this port and excursion. Stace's review of it has me very excited about it.

I was thinking we will just come back to the ship and head up to Topsiders for dinner that night.

K....did you see the video I posted on the other thread? I just fond anouther one on You Tube that has some great footage of people swimming with the sea lion. I'm not going to tell my kids about that, and keep it a surprise. They will be thrilled!

Here is the link to the video I just mentioned...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_esQMBcGmI

If someone spins me on the zip like they show at the end of the video, there's going to be some heck to pay

For those that wanted brunch and wasn't able to get it. If their are gonna be group brunches in teh private room, adn there are lots of days for it, then when those are booked, there will be openings from the people that got brunch, but want group brunch! Just be around when they do the group ressie.

I was able to grab brunch that way on our December cruise. The disers were in the private room, and we were in the main.

Don't give up, you still have 75 day out and on the ship.

Yes, there are a lot of sea days, but I already know of 7 group brunches being requested. Then Crash mentioned that his TA is trying for some for his group and Jo has said something about her group. So many of the folks hoping for a group brunch are not going to get it.

Good luck everyone.

That is way too strange

I have Tea and Dinner booked. It's letting me see more times for 3-4 tables at Tea, and 1-2 and 3-4 tables at Dinner. But at some points last night, Tea was greyed out for me even though I had it booked. So not sure about that theory.

Very interesting...and surprising that AT&T's trunks would be better. Didn't realize we had anything that was 'better'.

It was much easier for me last night than anyone else. I just thought my Tia mojo had something to do with it.

Seriously, it was pretty painless for me. I'm thinking maybe I might be turning the corner and starting to have good things happen instead of all the bad.

We're doing the DePalm Island excursion also. I was debating between this one and the See and Sea tour. I actually changed my mind (to DePalm) about 10 minutes before booking began! I was still second-guessing my decision this morning until I showed the kids pics of the waterpark, and they said they'd much rather do that than ride in the semi-submarine! That's all I needed to hear! :thumbsup2

We also booked:
Cabo - Harbor Cruise and Scenic Drive
PV - Paradise Beach Adventure (may wind up canceling this one and going to Krystal on our own)
Acapulco - Highlights, Shopping and Cliff Divers
Cartagena - Deluxe Cartagena & Fortress with Folklore Show

Didn't book anything for CC and wasn't able to get brunch. :sad2:

Oh, and I reserved time in Flounders for my 22-month old on Canal day from 9-12 so that DH and I could enjoy it without having to worry about him getting tired and hot. :thumbsup2

I'm glad it went smoothly for you Monica -- you needed it! Since we weren't trying for Palo, I was somewhat okay with not getting in right away, but it was still frustrating nonetheless.

We decided against doing the Sea and See as well especially after Laura's post of how boring the tour of Aruba was. We did a semi-submarine at Grand Cayman and although fun, it wasn't something we wanted to do again. The waterpark sounded like a blast after being on the boat for 5 of the previous 6 days! And Cartagena will probably be hot and not as enjoyable for the kids.

We're thinking of switching to the Harbor Cruise and Drive tour. Our neighbors just returned from Cabo and talked about how scenic it was, so we thought we might add that on.
