I don't think we should totally write off Ports O'Call restaurant. I was thinking that we could make reservations in smaller groups of 10-12 about the same time and just swap tables every 30 mins. :rotfl2: Coral at this point I am not sure how many people we really have going to dinner. I guess we should start a sign-up over on the planning board. From there we can make a discussion.

K- will do. Thanks for checking it out for us.

I just got an email from my boss asking for the date I began telecommuting but they called it "Homeshoring". :confused3 Never heard that term before. We use "Offshoring" and "Smartshoring" a lot but never heard "Homeshoring".
Bill did build a fountain in our backyard over the weekend so I kinda have a shore close by. ;)

  I have a feeling I understand your exhaustion. After the wedding and the cruise, I'll have to fly to Omaha to help DD and her new hubby move into their new home. Then a quick weekend in Vegas to recharge and then home for full-throttle TOAL planning!!

You are going to be a busy person!!:worship: Just save some energy for the cruise!!:goodvibes

Roger....and the Doubletree Gang....do you want me to check out restaurants when I'm there in just TWELVE DAYS?? :yay:

That is, of course, if I live through the next twelve days.:goodvibes Never a dulll moment even when the children grow up.

Send me an e-mail or PM....need to exchange cell phones anyway.

That would be great Stace!!!::yes::

wow I love your shirt! I like that it's a polo shirt and I like the little flag on front and THAT design on the back instead of that on the front with the big take what you can design on the back. I guess you did that yourself, I wish I knew how!

Wow those turned out incredible! do you mind me asking how you did that?
Thanks for the info- might have to check that out and see if they still have some!

I just went to the main chat boards , got a designer to put my names in a design. I trnasformed them on to the transfer paper(I used white)and printed them (make shure you reverse the image before printing). I bought t** s**** at Jo Anns to for $5.00. I put a board under the shirt and ironed thr transfers on. Not too hard but I almost burnt one of the transfers. The iron has to be really hot but not too hot that it will burn the ttransfer paper. I know have two shirts for about $8.00. I did buy the black shirts for Sail-Away party!!:woohoo:

Has anyone hear of or own a "Tilley" hat?
I saw one yesterday at REI and really liked it- until I saw that it was $72.00! :faint: I have an abnormally large head (has to be big to hold all them there brains :lmao: ) and womens hats are rarely sized and the "One size fits all" does not fit me. This brand comes in many sizes and also has a 50 SPF rating. Before I drop that amount for a hat I want to know if others like it. I jsut bought a hat for $40 that I am not that crazy about so $72.00 is not that much more.

Too funny - I just got this e-mail from DH:

Kickball or Rugby?

Man with sword arrested in department store

It's got to be someone else.

If it were from the group, from I gather over the past few hundred posts regarding naked rugby, the headline would have read, "Naked man with sword arrested in department store." :lmao: :hyper: :rolleyes1

I've been thinking of all of these "task forces" that are in place for our Repo trip. And, don't get me wrong, I think they are all really great. I'm sure that we are going to have LOADS of fun.

I'm thinking, however, about another possibility. This comes from projects we do with our school children.

Wouldn't it be neat if we all got Disney cards, letters, et cetera ready and sent them to the men and women in our Armed Forces?

They enjoy the letters that they randomly receive from school students throughout our country. What if we Disney fanatics sent them our appreciation for giving us the freedom to go on these cruises as well?

One site that gives a lot of information about letter and supplies is www.lettersfromhomeprogram.org/

Another web site that one can go to for information about how/what to send military personnel is found at www.anysoldier.com

This is a great follow-up, I think, to our Memorial Day remembrances. Now that we have remembered the fallen, let's think about doing something for those presently serving.

Does anyone have an idea of how many kids will be on the cruise? My DS will be 6 on the cruise and I was wondering how many kids, especially boys there'll be in his age range.

Mmm, that sounds good! I think we'll have to check it out!

DD14 has a question on the Princesses and Pirates Night. Is it just adults dressing up or can she dress up too?

Sure she can dress up. It's not adults only. It's just that as adults we don't get to get all princessy like the little (under 10 or so) girls do. So we decided that we would pick a night and wear our tiaras and just have fun.

Is there a dinner planned on the 16th for those of us staying in the DL area?

Desiree, the lanyards look great! I can't wait for us to wear them! :thumbsup2

No dinner, but that's the night most of us are going to gather and see Fantasmic. I've got about 60 signed up so far. You can turn it into a dinner though - grab something at a counter service then come join us on the tarps while you eat. We're planning on the first show which is usually around 9pm. Guess that might be a little late dinner for some.

FYI - DL August park hours are up, but no entertainment schedule yet.

Someone on the WB posted that they were told that about 1500 kids were scheduled for the EB

I like this idea. Not sure logistics on how we would do this. Do you have any ideas?

I get my ugly hats that have SPF 50 rating at http://www.sundayafternoons.com/

I pay about $ 45 for the hat..

I didn't see the one you are talking about at REI this weekend. But i did get SPF 50 capris and shirts

We can talk about a reunion cruise!!!::yes:: ::yes::

I can give you lots of directions on how to!!!;)

Lots!

From the latest newsletter:

179 “Families” registered for website
586 total Pirates
360 Adults
63 13-17
104 8-12
50 3-7
4 under 3
5 age unknown

Figuring about 2500 people on board, extrapolating this out would be

1565 Adults
274 13-17
452 8-12
217 3-7
17 under 3

But then that's very unscientific

Morning! :surfweb:
:confused3 Is there somewhere that tells us ideas for where to stay the days before the cruise, transportation to/from airport/port, and stuff like that or do I need to ask individual questions about this stuff?
Thanks!
PS-We plan on going to DL (maybe Thurs) & Fri.

Many, many people are staying at Howard Johnson's. Way back last year some time we were about to get a group rate, then an Entertainment card rate came out that was even better. At this point I don't know what kind of availability they have. Some other choices that I have stayed at and would happily go back to are: Carousel Inn, BW Park Place Inn, Camelot Inn, Tropicana Inn, Desert Inn and Suites. These are all right across the street from the entrance gates. Often a shorter walk than the DL hotel itself.

Transportation from the airports, most people use Super Shuttle or Primetime Shuttle. There is also a Disneyland Express bus from LAX and Orange County.

We are putting together busses to pick us up at the DL area hotels and take us to the port on Sunday morning. PM smeecanada if you are interested.

Man with sword arrested in department store

The Associated Press

NEW YORK--A man who was carrying a rusted pirate-style sword through Macy's flagship store in Manhattan is facing charges of criminal possession of a weapon.

Police say 29-year-old Lawrence Jackson was brandishing the curved sword while visiting Macy's Herald Square store Sunday with his girlfriend.

He told police he was carrying the sword because he is a member of a kickball team whose players often wear pirate-themed costumes. He maintains he was on his way to a game when he was arrested.

Well, I recommend that you wear a dress with a front. :)
Seriously, guessing what the front looks like, I like it. Very princess-y with all the foof in the back.

Hmm....wonder where Peter is today?? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Fantastic idea.

Are you leading this task force???

I've always thought about doing something like this but have never followed through. I'll put this on my list for this coming weekend. My son will get a kick out of it.

Does anyone have an idea of how many kids will be on the cruise? My DS will be 6 on the cruise and I was wondering how many kids, especially boys there'll be in his age range.

From our May newsletter (can be found here) its showing 50 kids in the 3-7 range and 104 in the 8-12 range. This is just the number gathered from our group who is receiving the newsletter.

There should be plenty. I would guess approximately 20 six-year old boys alone on this sailing and 200 children ages 3-7. :)

According to the Piratezone Newsletter, there are 586 passengers registered from DIS, which represents approximately 25% of the ship. Of those, there are 50 children registered between ages 3-7. So, I would guess around 200 children in the 3-7 year-old age group (50 divided by 25%).

Assuming equal age distribution (20% are age 3, 20% are age 4, etc.), then I would expect 40 six-year old children (20% X 200). Assuming 50% are boys, then 20 six-year old boys.:duck:
