Desiree, there is a large group of people staying at the Double Tree and other hotels in San Pedro area on the 16th. We are trying to organize a get together and dinner locally in San Pedro the night before. There is a much larger group staying around DL.

Roger....and the Doubletree Gang....do you want me to check out restaurants when I'm there in just TWELVE DAYS?? :yay:

That is, of course, if I live through the next twelve days.

Send me an e-mail or PM....need to exchange cell phones anyway.

Good evening, I guess I should say good morning. Just three more days and I'll be home in sunny Florida. Almost four weeks of traveling has me exhausted. Can't sleep. I have about three weeks at home before I head back up North to help DD move. She found a great apartment in Middletown CT. I'll only be home for about three weeks before the trip. That should be interesting, packing for the TOAL with the help of my grandchildren. Who knows what will make it into our suitcases. Thought I'd check in and see how everyone is doing.

We are staying at the Doubletree and the three of us would love to join in the San Pedro dinner.

Barbara

  I have a feeling I understand your exhaustion. After the wedding and the cruise, I'll have to fly to Omaha to help DD and her new hubby move into their new home. Then a quick weekend in Vegas to recharge and then home for full-throttle TOAL planning!!

I should be in bed. I'm going to look like the Bride of Frankenstein in the pictures if I don't start getting some sleep. Or is that the Mother of the Bride of Frankenstein???
:rotfl2:

We arrive in Long Beach on Saturday the 7th for our June 8th cruise, and are staying at the Doubletree. It's my pre-TOAL warm up cruise!

I can't find any info on the Pirate Zone for the dinner at the port before our cruise. :confused3

Actually ran into DISer Seaulater on the dock yesterday and said because of cold weather it was transferred inside and no one went. :scared1:

Hey it was a balmy 60F yesterday and no fog.

So here are a few of your pictures from yesterdays sail away. There was no hoopla this year and we ran into only about 10 DISers watching her depart. All aboard was 4pm and the Magic pulled away promptly at 4:15. It was still fun to see her again.

We did these this morning!!! I think they turned out okay!!!:cool1:

SHOPPING ALERT!

I didn't check my e-mail until an hour ago - Disney Shopping stuff up to 60% off. Memorial Day sale (OK, huge issues with that, but I digress).

Boys polo shirts $12.99 - Men's for $15.99

I always get these for my boys to wear to dinner on our cruises.

SHIPFOR5 works if you spend $50 & there is a Disney Visa 15% code HOTSPOT15 if you use that card.

Happy shopping.
Thanks for the info- might have to check that out and see if they still have some!

Good evening!

I hope everyone had a great day...we didn't do much of anything.

I ordered the lanyards - they will be printed with:

Pirates Through The Panama Canal - DCL Magic - August 2008

In regards to dinner at Port's O'Call.. is this instead of dinner at HoJos? Something different? I am trying to start putting things together in regards to plans.

thanks!
lanyards- sounds great! :)
dinner- if we're doing one at hojo hope I see the info about it- is it posted on the pirate zone? We'll be at Hojo.

I have no idea why that posted twice. I only hit submit once! :rotfl2:

ok wenchies...

i need a 2nd formal...

With all the David's talk thought i'd peruse their site...

What say ye on the follwing dress?

Price is right... I was looking at purple or persimmon. It has matching gloves if i go with red or purple or peridot...

P_3434_1_21784.jpg

What does the front look like?? Or do you plan to walk around backwards all night? :rotfl:

Wow grats for riding that far... I was in great shape when I was working and riding to work and mountain biking almost every day! Hmmm miss those days... Now I deal with the post breastfeeding weight gain :sad2:

Really, I had no idea about the precruise support group. Maybe I should go join :confused3

All are welcome on the pirates gettin' healthy thread!

I wish I had the time to bike to work every day, but I'd either need to ride a lot faster or live closer to work!

How many votes do you need?:confused3 :confused3 We at least vote 5 to 6 times here!!!;) ;) We know people!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Yeah, but did all you deceased neighbors vote as well?

You mean you all won't stagger the times of them for me so I can be at both??? :lmao:

Sorry Desiree - it's not all about you.
It's all about me!
:tink:
DD14 has a question on the Princesses and Pirates Night. Is it just adults dressing up or can she dress up too?

Join in the fun. We called it Grown Up Princess night because you usually only see little-little girls in Disney princess dresses during dinner. I think anyone over Disney princess dress age is a "Grown Up Princess"

Is there a dinner planned on the 16th for those of us staying in the DL area?

I think most folks at HoJos will be in DL on the 16th - we're meeting for Fantasmic. Last I heard, Mark (disneypilots) was going to put something together for DL area (not in the parks) on Friday.

I should be in bed. I'm going to look like the Bride of Frankenstein in the pictures if I don't start getting some sleep. Or is that the Mother of the Bride of Frankenstein???

Happy Birthday and anniversary to all we have missed.

Have a great Tuesday

Good morning neighbors!

We're back from Vegas... well actually we were back approximately 24 hours ago - but I took a bit of today to take a nap in the afternoon - then promptly upon waking up my dear spouse hustled me out with the kids to hit Macy's before they closed! She found what I thought was a stunning polka dotted dress and a fun bright red dress with patent black belt and big shiney black buttons. What do you figure the odds are I'll find any images that resemble these two items? Let me see what a few minutes searching turn up....

DR-004.1E.jpg

OK.... I've scanned 2200 images using varied combinations of search words - and came up with these 3 images which are similar to it. It has a fitted look of the BLACK dresses here but the look of the shoulders below right and the overall appearance similar to the image with a black patent belt with black buttons of the red dress above:

400_F_6236349_3dtw9ECLj4HjN8eCXn4Ma73WCBsqQv6K.jpg

And the polka dotted dress is VERY fitted and resembles this image below. I found this image after scanning fewer then 500 images. It had a V shaped front and fit her like a glove. I liked it while the kids sort of giggled over it when asked what they thought.

...[ed]...[/CENTER]

OK,

I just found out Alicia pulled a switch-er-ooo on me. She did NOT get thast polka dot pattern dres which was soooo perfect. It turns out it was NOT on sale - so she put it back while she waits patiently for it to go on sale. And she substituted a black dress instead. The total value at original retail was something like $275 and she paid $38 + tax for about $40-41. Here are a couple images of her modeling the two dresses purchased:

I think the black dress is made by "Tahari" and is far more flattering in real life then it seems in the photo. The red dress is "smoking" in real life too - more so than this photo can possibly convey.

i bought some disney balanced nutrition bars today at bjs. yes i just bought them because it has disney on it. i see on the box they also have disney crispy treats bars and disney yougurt granola bars. i had one it was good.
Disney always seems to get my money one way or another.they are made by bartons confectioners i never heard of them. i wonder how much disney gets a box.
We used to get Bartons in NY.

Good morning neighbors!

Reminds me of DH lately........:rotfl: :rotfl:

Time to get ready for work. :surfweb: Hope everyone has a great day.

Morning! :surfweb:
:confused3 Is there somewhere that tells us ideas for where to stay the days before the cruise, transportation to/from airport/port, and stuff like that or do I need to ask individual questions about this stuff?
Thanks!
PS-We plan on going to DL (maybe Thurs) & Fri.

Hi Chrissy,

Have you checked out the planning boards?
http://www.thepiratezone.us/index.php

You have to register there, and someone should be along to approve your registration failrly quickly. The only reason they have to do that is someone registered a bunch of names from one IP address and were getting ready to fill the board with spam. Anyway, all of the relevant planning stuff is organized very nicely over there. You can find threads on transportation, pre-cruise plans, and plans split up for each day of the cruise. If you don't find what you need there, post any specific questions that you have and someone will answer them pretty quickly.

Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone had a great weekend. We are back from our wild weekend up north! Had a great time.

I found my FE goodies! A place we went into had them and they were 4 for a $1! I got 100 and I think the cashier thought I was crazy! Just need to make them look pretty! I was so excited!:yay:

I see ya'll were real chatty over the weekend, so time to attempt to ketchup.

Roger, love your pics!

they don't have one actually...

It says it is basically an a-line skirt not gathered inthe front. Looks like two pieces with a halter on top. (but is really only one piece dress)

I was going to call the David's in Hagerstown or Rockville and see if they had something like it so i could check sizing. (With on-line outlet stuff it is non-returnable)

I just wanted to share with everyone how completely cool, and astonishing, and gratifying this community is. There's no one "in charge",
yet everyone contributes what they can and no one feels compelled to do more than they are able. (At least I hope not.) We are each doing what we do best, and relying on others, with different strengths, to cover the rest.

Step back and look at what we've accomplished... website, topical forums, group clothing, group cruise navigators, activity books for the kids, special little surprises for each other, shared artwork, large and small group dining, loads of information on each port, shared excursions and experiences, more onboard activities than any one person could attend, and the list goes on, and on.

This is a huge undertaking and accomplishement for a group this size, and yet it has come together naturally. Growing and changing depending on the people involved.

We are such a testament to what a group of people can accomplish when they come together in a spirit of mutual understanding, support, tolerance, and yes humor plays a role. Yes, we've had our squabbles, but we've worked through them - gaining understanding and enriching ourselves through the experience.

I am so completely grateful to be a part of this community. And to have this experience with all of you.

Many thanks. :grouphug:

VERY VERY well said! :)

Too funny - I just got this e-mail from DH:

Which does your dis-friend play?
Kickball or Rugby?

Man with sword arrested in department store

The Associated Press

NEW YORK--A man who was carrying a rusted pirate-style sword through Macy's flagship store in Manhattan is facing charges of criminal possession of a weapon.

Police say 29-year-old Lawrence Jackson was brandishing the curved sword while visiting Macy's Herald Square store Sunday with his girlfriend.

He told police he was carrying the sword because he is a member of a kickball team whose players often wear pirate-themed costumes. He maintains he was on his way to a game when he was arrested.

Well, I recommend that you wear a dress with a front. :)
Seriously, guessing what the front looks like, I like it. Very princess-y with all the foof in the back.
