We will probably ship a box to the HoJo before the trip - we've done this before for other cruises. It is usually only DH's wine (just a couple bottles) but I am considering sending the Fish Extender gifts also. Since we are flying home immediately after the cruise, I can't see anyway to ship a box at that end. If I could, I'd be tempted to box up the pirate costumes - but if I need to get them in the luggage on the way home, they better be in the luggage on the way there!

On our last cruise, we didn't wear everything we had brought. As we were packing up the last night, we agreed that if we could just pack the same amount it would be just right for a 15 night cruise! I'm just not sure we can manage to do that!

Pamela

Check the prices. It cost me over $9 tosend a small package that didn't even weigh a pound. If needed , I will pay the $25 for the 5th bag.

:scared1: I am on hold with DCL..I am seriously locked out of my ressie...DCL has no idea..they cant pull it up either!

OY!!!!!!! Don't scare us.tell them you need a sup!!!

Ok I am really confused.

wenches brunch on the 23rd????
Pirate brunch on the 24th
Tea on the 21st
pj on the 23rd

Help. What should I try to reserve??????

Stacey are you going to be around to tonight to share in our misery?

We need to think positive Roger!!!;)

Would love to hear if this is a movie for smaller children. I re-watched the first three and wasn't sure about letting the kiddies see it. Lots of violence and then there is the "almost" sex scene in the first one . . . However we saw the new Narnia yesterday and absolutely loved it. A bit darker than the first Narnia, but full of great lessons.

I though it was a lot more dark than the first one...but I still loved it!!!:flower3:

Seriously.I cant get into my ressie..it says someone else was on it and no one is!

ugh!

It is starting already!!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1::sad2: :sad2:

Off to a 3 people birthday dinner at Le Jardin D'Olive....

Good luck tonight!

Chrissie

Ok...I am still a little scared but DCL was able to change my tea ressies to the 21st (which is how I found out I was locked out!)

They managed to get my reservation to come back up but I have no idea how..they didn't know exactly what "the back office" did but it worked..I asked if they would be around if everything went kaboom..and no..they leave at 8pm EST...so I am currently up but I won't be home until about 8pm PST so I am going to hope it stays..I logged out (although that scared me to do but I have a feeling I would need to relog in tonight at 9:00 PST anyways as I did at the 105 day mark.

I asked if they were having problems today and they said not really..so here's hoping!

Totally off topic (IF there is a "topic" here :rotfl2: )

Here are some photos from our Plant Sale. This has totally eaten my life for the last week. About 3/4 of all the plants are staged at my house before the sale. We had a "pre-sale" for the club members on Thursday night and moved ALL the plants on Friday night to the sale tent and then spent ALL day Saturday at the sale. DH & I (with some help from my parents and a coupel other club members) sort/organize/label/price all the plants. We put up a couple pop-up greenhouses in our backyard which have had small plants for the last month or so. The bigger stuff starts coming about 2 weeks before and we SAY it all has to be here 1 week before the sale (but people still drop off some mid-week!)

The first 3 photos are from around my yard - I really mean it when I say "we are drowning in plants"!

The next photo is the tent where we hold the sale. This was around 8AM as we finished setting up. You can see the "spill over" plants that don't fit in the main tent.

This one is inside the tent around the same time. Some of the people are club members helping to arrange stuff - the rest are shoppers who seem to arrive earlier every year! Technically, the sale doesn't start until 9AM - but we don't want to deal with trying to keep people out and the stampede that would happen so we let them shop whenever, but the checkout doesn't open until 8:45 or so (they just have to wait!)

The last two photos were taken around 9am - they give you an idea of how big the crowd is. Our sale has gained a reputation over the last 10 years and people are coming from quite a ways away.

Don't worry about the PJ on the 23rd,that's a "show up" at a designated time in Luminere.

Nope. I called DCL to make our final payments because my TA was on a cruise, and they wouldn't take my payments. They would have done it if the TA's "home office or associate" called it in....but otherwise, no.

Had the same thing happen when they announced the Florida Rates on our first cruise. Had an associate stay on the phone with DCL to fix everything. They wouldn't even talk to me.

I think you will have to choose between the brunches for now. I'm pretty sure they will only let you book 1 tonight. You could then try on board for the other if you would like to do both... (But 2 Palo brunches on back-to-back days sounds like a LOT of food to me!)

Book Tea on the 21st

I don't think you need to book anything for the PJ Breakfast - I think that will be at one of the regular restaurants.

Shipping: Shipping from home isn't too bad for me since I do it through the office and I'm not paying inflated "shipping store" rates. We have always shipped DH's wine (3 cruises) - usually to the hotel we are staying at prior to the cruise. Since that doesn't come back home again, I've only ever worried about 1-way shipping. I don't think it would be possible to ship when I'm flying out right away and the prices would probably be crazy if it is available at the airport.

So we need to reserve the wenches brunh on the 23rd?

So we need to reserve the wenches brunh on the 23rd?

Chris had the idea that maybe we could get reservations for tables of 1-2 on the 23rd as a backup in case our private room request doesn't come through -- and then we could ask to be seated all the same area. It's not anywhere as good as the private room, but might work as a backup.

So who do i book as the other person?? Or do I just do a 1???

Nationals is over with for Lisa and although she had a lot of fun, met many new friends, and received lots of "free" merchandise, she also got a lesson between being good and being great. Some of those girls were AMAZING! The girl that won the JR A Division was from Region 1 and trains at an Olympic Training Facility in California. (People who knew her said she is home schooled and trains at least 8 hours per day. Lisa's 4 hours per day seems "light" compared to that - but she is in public school and that is all of the time she has available to train)

It was interesting how until the individual awards were presented how little emphisis was put on the individual as oppossed to the Regional Team they represented. When they did the March In, they came in under the banner of their Region and were introduced simply as the Team representing the following states (There are eight Regions in the US). All of the Coachs were dressed in apparel designating their Region and the girls leos were identical from GK with only the sleeve color (Lisa's Region was a greenish blue and very pretty) designating which region they represented. Each Regional Group showed a lot of support for their teammates, even though I am sure most of these girls competed against each other many times through out the season.

It was also interested to see how many college coaches were at the event. They had all of the tables / desks in the front of the arena blocked off for them and you needed credentials to get into that area. Also the center section of the Arena was blocked off for the overflow of Recruiters. Lisa's Coach pointed out the Recruiter from Michigan (which is where Lisa wants to go).

During the warm up, the girls who are in High School wore their competition numbers as well as a colored sticker indicating their year of graduation. Lisa isn't in High School yet, so she didn't wear her number until the day she competed.

I know Lisa was inspired to work on new and more difficult skills for next year in the hopes she can fare better next year. We are very proud of how hard she has worked and how much she has been able to accomplish this year.

I've been to Casa Bonita!! Although it's been YEARS since I was there. It was an awesome place (through a kid's eyes, anyway) ...Is it still?

My kids still love to go there....but we told them that it's only a place to take people from out-of-town. We might give in and go there on a birthday (no worse than Chuckee Cheese!). It probably hasn't changed a bit since you were there. Same cliff, same cheesy western show, same cliff diving show, and same man in a gorilla suit running around the place. The food on the other hand is horrible with one exception -- sopapillas!!

No, I was PIF before the fictional $5 increase in port fees

Yes, what ever happened to those $5 port fees. We paid in full in early March to save that $75 charge ($5 per port per person x 3 ports x 5 of us), but it sounds like no one got hit with it.

DH & I used to live down the street from Casa Bonita -- in 1981/82!!! 28ds was 2 when we moved back home. :)

We lived on Pierce in Wheatridge but, Lakewood was about a couple of blocks away. :)

We usually go to Denver about every other year or so....... CO is great in the summer because even when it is 95 degrees it is still alot cooler then it is here! :rotfl2:

Where are you now? You wouldn't want to live down the street from Casa Bonita anymore! :scared1: You're right that it can hit 100 here and with the low humidity, you can just step in the shade and it's significantly cooler. Only downside is that swimming outside is usually freezing to me even in July...that's why I enjoy our trips to Florida and DCL!

It's in the upper 80's here today and we have the house open and it's quite cool inside as long as we can keep a breeze. The winter's aren't really that bad compared to where I'm from (Kansas City) as it's usually a lot sunnier and it rarely stays below freezing all day long. It will usually warm up to the upper 30's or low 40's and if not, it will the next day. When it's sunny and 40 in January, you don't even need a coat. Some of my wife's family even wear shorts throughout winter. It's not uncommon to see someone shoveling snow in their shorts. The dry climate can be tough on your skin when you're used to humidity, but it sure makes being outdoors nicer year round.

What is your personal preference?

Brunch or the dinner? DH and I are celebrating our anniversary during the cruise.

Thanks.
Last minute

I like the view for brunch. It's just a nice break on an at-sea day. I prefer the food at night, especially the panna cotta! However, if you did an early dinner, you could have great views in August at night. It was always dark when we did it.
