Funny you should mention tires. I have this "thing" about brand new tires with big thick tread. These tires look like Frisbees to me.

But the $100 a week in gas is killing me!

Stace, your right with everybody else.......We cant build enough small cars......good thing we were headin that way anyway........ Ive had the car side for years..........guess who is ALOT more popular at work now ????? :thumbsup2

So who do i book as the other person?? Or do I just do a 1???

THe smallest is 1-2, so just book that and you can add another person to your table provided they don't have another reservation . . . If at least 7 of us got it the 14 who signed up could all go together.

Of course I have great faith that we are going to get the private room, however!

What is your personal preference?

Brunch or the dinner? DH and I are celebrating our anniversary during the cruise.

Thanks.

THey are both wonderful, and you can (in theory!) book one of each, but if you were going to do one on your actual anniversary, I would probably go for dinner. It's just more fancy, although the view at brunch is much better.

For romance....do Dinner!:cloud9: I like brunch better for the food!!:thumbsup2

Totally off topic (IF there is a "topic" here :rotfl2: )

Here are some photos from our Plant Sale. This has totally eaten my life for the last week. About 3/4 of all the plants are staged at my house before the sale. We had a "pre-sale" for the club members on Thursday night and moved ALL the plants on Friday night to the sale tent and then spent ALL day Saturday at the sale. DH & I (with some help from my parents and a coupel other club members) sort/organize/label/price all the plants. We put up a couple pop-up greenhouses in our backyard which have had small plants for the last month or so. The bigger stuff starts coming about 2 weeks before and we SAY it all has to be here 1 week before the sale (but people still drop off some mid-week!)

The first 3 photos are from around my yard - I really mean it when I say "we are drowning in plants"!

The next photo is the tent where we hold the sale. This was around 8AM as we finished setting up. You can see the "spill over" plants that don't fit in the main tent.

This one is inside the tent around the same time. Some of the people are club members helping to arrange stuff - the rest are shoppers who seem to arrive earlier every year! Technically, the sale doesn't start until 9AM - but we don't want to deal with trying to keep people out and the stampede that would happen so we let them shop whenever, but the checkout doesn't open until 8:45 or so (they just have to wait!)

The last two photos were taken around 9am - they give you an idea of how big the crowd is. Our sale has gained a reputation over the last 10 years and people are coming from quite a ways away.

Pamela

WOW!!! Pamela, do you could rub your green thumb off on me a bit? This is just stunning!

Or, in the case of my younger sister, how to get away with it.

LOL! 17dd has always hated getting in trouble and never wants me upset --- her dbro & dsis never seemed to care if I was upset! LOL!

Personally for a big celebration (and a romantic one), I'd chose the Dinner. Both are great, mind you, but with dinner comes the chocolate suffle! I also like the ambiance at night at Palos.

Either way, it's a great way to celebrate your special day!

Nationals is over with for Lisa and although she had a lot of fun, met many new friends, and received lots of "free" merchandise, she also got a lesson between being good and being great. Some of those girls were AMAZING! The girl that won the JR A Division was from Region 1 and trains at an Olympic Training Facility in California. (People who knew her said she is home schooled and trains at least 8 hours per day. Lisa's 4 hours per day seems "light" compared to that - but she is in public school and that is all of the time she has available to train)

I know Lisa was inspired to work on new and more difficult skills for next year in the hopes she can fare better next year. We are very proud of how hard she has worked and how much she has been able to accomplish this year.

My DD Nicole practiced on the ice with Kyoko Ina one summer and Kyoko was on the ice at least 8 hrs a day 7x week . Her mom would chastise the moms struggling to keep their kids on the ice for the sport of it and tell them their kids would never amount to anything if they didn't homeschool and increase the ice time. How sad. That child never got to do anything but school and practice. When it wasn't fun anymore is when we quit. Nik got to juniors and then she started teaching the little ones.

well this is what is going to happen tonight we are all going to get on dcl website at one time and the site will go down

Good one! :rotfl2:

I'm nervous because there is only a couple of things I really really want, since I'm not really a "spa" person, but I'm afraid those "couple of things" are the same stinkin' "couple of things" everyone else wants!

ooooh looks like you are not in Chicago anymore!

Tell me what you want and I will tell you mine.:rotfl2: No not Chicago, I don't think I will ever get used to these critters.

You really don't see me here. I AM ironing. Really I am.

Where's that darn Fairy Godmother when you need her???? pixiedust:

When you find her could you send her my way?:rotfl2:

you need to login after 12:01, you may need to log out and in

I thought you could just refresh?:confused3

Well, it was 1994 so I do have to admit to the Electric Slide.

We did this at dd's reception this past Oct. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Except when I was younger we called it the Hustle!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I do realize that you aren't old enough to have done the Hustle..... Or the Bus Stop.......... the Bump?

And when I'm old, I'll be one of those people in a Jaguar that's far too old to truly enjoy it. ;)

That's what 24dd drives...... Her DH bought it for her as wedding gift. As if that girl didn't drive fast enough in her Ford Focus! :rotfl: :rotfl:

We want to try to do one of the dolphin swims. I thought I read the PV was the best, but when I looked on their website they also say they do the one in Cabo, so wouldn't it be essentially the same? Also, it is allowing me to book for the days DCL is in port directly on the dolphin encounter website. I thought I read others said it was booked up already from Disney. I'm just not sure if I should go ahead and try to book through them or wait until tonight.

Pirate Brunch at PaloHi Pirates!

It looks like the overwhelming choice for the Pirates Brunch is Sunday the 24th. That date received 70% of the vote on the planning board.

The plan is that all who would like to brunch together will attempt to book this date for their Palo Brunch. Once we are on board ship, we will ask at Palo if they can seat us all near each other (or if some of us want to, we can ask to share tables).

I believe there are 3 times that that one can select for brunch (like 10AM, 10:30AM and 11:AM or maybe 10:30, 11:00 and 11:30). My suggestion is that we TRY to book the middle time, but if we can't get it we then go for the earlier time and lastly the later time. If we don't all end up at exactly the same time, we should still overlap since brunch usually takes quite a while!

We didn't really have a good concensus for "2nd place" for a date for this event. (The other dates only had 1 or 2 votes). Does anyone think we need a backup date? Are we likely to have trouble getting the 24th?

Pamela

I am trying to " Ketchup " but I wanted to throw my 2 cents in..........sounds like a great plan to me.

Remember Ice Cream Contest set for Sat. Aug. 23rd Time 1:00 PM

This is the one we're ordering...Wednesday night I think. It will arrive sometime in July. It's the new Clubman. Just a bit bigger than the Mini. Which will help, since I'm going from a YukonXL to this.
