Correction - the tour actually begins at 7:45am
Acapulco Cliff divers and city tour

Don't know when the actual diving will held but here is the description of the tour

Abandon all worries as you set your sights upon the panoramic magnificence of Acapulco's coastline — brimming with rocky climbs and secluded coves — during a scenic 30-minute air-conditioned motor coach drive to arguably the most popular attraction in the city: the cliff of La Quebrada where the world-famous cliff divers take their death-defying plunge. Since 1934, the cliff divers of La Quebrada have risked their lives hurling themselves from rocky perches 140 feet high into the shallow waters of the Pacific Ocean, timing their jumps to coincide with the incoming waves. Stop at the Hotel El Mirador in the Traditional Zone, which overlooks the seaside cove where the divers jump, and gaze in amazement at the breathtaking spectacle with a refreshing drink in hand. After the dives, take in a Mexican folklore show, where colorfully costumed dancers perform traditional Mexican dances. After the show, enjoy 30 minutes of shopping and sightseeing before beginning your two-hour city tour.

After shopping, embark on a scenic city drive along the picturesque waterfront boulevard known as La Costera in the Golden Zone. Brimming with restaurants, shops, music and stone sculptures, La Costera is one of the most popular places to shop and sightsee in town, and is the main thoroughfare of the city. Marvel at the pristine golden sands and breathtaking blue waters of Hornos, Hornitos and Tamarindos beaches, and snap a picture of Zócalo, the scenic, tree-lined square of Acapulco. Then, make your way to a picture perfect perch and revel in the breathtaking beauty of Acapulco Bay, Puerto Marques Bay and Tres Palos Lagoon. Continue on, past the new and luxurious Acapulco Diamond Zone, and behold the Acapulco Princess and the Mayan Palace, two impressive hotels featuring majestic old-world architecture. After your approximate two-hour tour of spectacular Acapulco, relax and unwind as you make your way back to the ship.

I have a thing for the pygmy marmosets at the Philly zoo.

does Linda know about this "thing" ?

Linda knows way more than she wants to at times.

Besides, it a sad and tortured tale, what with the thick pane of glass separating us.

your coolness continues to amaze me.

OK... all kidding aside ... I must protest your remarks. As they're embarassing me into reclusive shame...

.. and let me volunteer (vaguely) that I am no stranger to being imprefect.

Tom: beutiful story and thoughts!:)

...[ed]...

I am a complete believer in this . . . I read recently that studies have shown that, given spending the same amount of money, spending it on "experiences" rather than "things" makes us more content and happy -- presumably because we generally share experiences with other people and things are enjoyed more privately.

Julie:

this is how we have always felt and led our lives - I have always said I would rather have experiences than things!!!!:) I always tell my DD that she isn't going to remember whether the house was decorated as nicely as the neighbors, etc, but she will remember the family trips and time spent together making memories that we had and the classes/experiences we made sure she was exposed to and the friends she made there!!!:) :wizard:

OK... my "reclusive shame" has now vanished.

As such... I think there's very little I understand of this life. Only that it seems we all have a little room left for surprising our loved ones and total strangers with unusual kindness, unexpected patience and suprising rascally gestures. Hence my recent purchase of the custom made bobble head for my dear spouse.

iE92BD6CB-8B71-44D6-AD24-8762A2E75B5B.jpg

When Jon and my DB were in Hong Kong a couple of years ago (DH goes every year for an International Leather show) they had bobbleheads made of themselves....... Now that's weird. ;) :rotfl2:

So you see,...

.... I am not without my wierd, suspicious but otherwise INNOCENT inclinations... and for the record, it's really really tough to buy for someone who won't like / won't want a lot of things that are typicla gifts ... so after the 24 years of hangin' with Alicia... I'm getting down to buying custom made bobble head dolls for my girl.

Wow..I got an actual response via phone from DCL! ok..it's not the response I wanted but hey..it's an actual answer!

My Mom's and my reservation are linked and at first they told me I could book both this weekend..then they came back and said no..only mine. But they do show us PIF! so that was something I couldn't get out of the previous CM. We are trying to make sure we are on the same excursions..so now the conundrum is deciding if I want to wait until the 19th and book it all together or hope for the best and do mine first.

I think my head is going to explode! :headache:

At the end of this month, I'm celebrating my 25th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood. Today, my school children surprised me with a special anniversary "lunch with the pastor" Disney style.
Here I am, walking my Mousekeeters around the building to the gym, where we all ate lunch.

So I broke into a chorus and two verses of 'Conjunction Junction' and ended with 'He made a connection in the other direction and the crowd started shouting out interjections -- Aw! You threw the wrong way! Darn! You just lost the game! Hurray! I'm for the other team! and ended with "Darn. That's the end.")

When Reginald was home with the flu..Uhuh-huh
The doctor knew just what to do-ooo.
He cured the infection
With one small injection,
While Reginald muttered some interjections!

HEY! That's not fair! Giving a guy a shot down there!

Wow...you and Tom both have signs posted at DCL when you e-mail them!!!:lmao: :lmao:

Dear Mike,

Thank you for choosing a Disney Cruise Line Vacation! I'll be happy to

assist with your dining questions.

At this time we are also still waiting for the final evening dining
itinerary announcement. I believe the dining team is waiting to make
this announcement until after the Westbound Panama Canal Cruise has
completed her voyage at the end of May.

Please check back with us at the end of May/early June as we may have
this information available for our Eastbound Guests.

I hope this information has been helpful. If you require further
assistance in planning your visit, please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to welcoming you aboard!

Add me to "The List" at DCL too.

Well April ended poorly for Lisa. When I went to pick her up she was holding up her hand. The Coaches thought she might have broken it on her vault. I took her to an after hours clinic and they took 5 x-rays. They don't think it is broken (YEA!!!). It is currently splinted and she will just condition and do what she can do with the use of one hand for the next few days. Then hopefully on Monday she will be back on track. With Nationals a few weeks away - the timing stinks. Hopefully she will beel better soon.
6.gif

Sorry to hear that. Hope she feels better soon so she can compete.

Question:

I am scheduled to be on the eastbound repositioning cruise in August.

I have recently read that you will be changing the kids clubs as
follows:

Oceaneer Club will continue to be the home base for the 3 to 7 year old
children.
Oceaneer Lab is used for children 8 to 10 years of age.
Ocean Quest will be used for the 11 to 13 year olds.
The Stack will be reserved for teens 14 to 17 years of age.

As one of my children will be in the 11-13 age range, I would like to
clarify that DCL will continue to provide a menu of activities for them
to engage in as opposed to just "hanging" in Ocean Quest. My soon to be
11 year old loved the programming in the Lab last time we were on board.

I would be very upset if there is no programming for this age group on
such a long voyage.

Answer (non-answer?)

5/1/08

Dear Thomas,

Thank you for booking a Disney Cruise Line Vacation!

It is my pleasure to assist you with information regarding the Youth
Activities on the ship.

On the Disney Magic this summer, the children's programming will be
structured differently. Disney's Oceaneer Club will accommodate those
who are ages 3-7. Disney's Oceaneer Lab will be for the 8-10 years of
age group. The Ocean Quest area of the ship will be the new home for
ages 11-13.

Children who are registered in these areas will find an array of fun and
exciting activities to participate in with other children throughout the
cruise. The areas are generally open from 9:00 AM - midnight each day,
except on day of embarkation, and are supervised by our trained
counselors.

To see a sample of activities offered in these areas, please visit our
website at www.disneycruise.com > Onboard > Activities > Oceaneer
Club/Oceaneer Lab. Please remember this is just a sample list. Once on
the ship, please make sure to check your Personal Navigator for specific
activities that have been arranged for the different age groups.

I hope this information has been helpful. If you require further
assistance in planning your visit, please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to sailing with you again! Have a Magical Day!

We got the same message from DCL. Our problem is that Linda and I are booked in 2 separate staterooms. I can book for Linda and the boys at midnight going into Sunday, since the vow renewal is attached to her reservation. Then I can call Sunday afternoon to try to get them to manually add on Hailey and me. (Since it's pretty obvious based on our ages that I'm the one that's in on the vow renewal ;) ) But we can't make any excursion reservations for our friend that's traveling with us.

Question:

I guess I have confused you. I am looking for the schedule of what nights will be formal night, semi-formal night and when the deck parties will be held. This information is important as I schedule my shore excursions and request a Palo night.

I know that I have early dining and that the rotation, exact time and table assignment will be provided on my Key To The World pass, not in the room.

Non-answer - at least seems to be equal to Mike and Rogers:

5/1/08

Dear Thomas,

Thank you for your e-mail. I sincerely regret the delay in the
announcement of the dining itinerary schedule for our Eastbound Panama
Canal cruise in August.

At this time we are still waiting for the final evening dining itinerary
announcement for the Eastbound Panama Canal Cruise in August. Our
dining team is planning to make this announcement after the Disney Magic
completes her Westbound Panama Canal Cruise.

Please check back with us at a later date or you may contact our
Reservations Department at 800-939-2784 Monday - Friday 8:00am to
10:00pm (EST) or Saturday - Sunday 9:00am - 8:00pm (EST). Our
reservation agents will be happy to assist you.

I hope this information has been helpful. If you require further

assistance, please send us an email and we'll be happy to help.

We look forward to welcoming you aboard!

Acapulco Cliff divers and city tour

Don't know when the actual diving will held but here is the description of the tour

On Cruise Critic, the guy that runs the port said that for the special morning shows, it's usually around 8:30am. These tours will go to the divers first, then do the city or fort. Most of the shops and such don't open until about 9am.

OK -- you bring the emu and we're on . . . will the emu count as a second checked piece of baggage? Which carrier are you on and are you grandfathered to checked a second emu without charge???????

Yes, I'd like to check my Emu please? No, as my second bag. Yes, I purchased my tickets many moons ago, I expect the Emu to be grandfathered. No, it's NOT a grandfather Emu. It's a grandfatherED Emu. Of course I have to bring it, it's for the Slippery Emu contest. Sheez. What'd you think I'd drag it around for FUN!!???

Is this a drinking game ?

With this crew you have to ask??? :rotfl: :rotfl:

Bartender! Slippery Emu shots all around!

Alright? What what exactly is IN a Slippery Emu?? Maybe we can invent and have them make it for us... :rotfl2:

Rum...
Hum, rum?
and, uh - mmmm - uh, what else?

Emus don't squeak

Prolly all that oil they carry around.

Giggle or that amused "I married her" chuckle, followed by a groan out of earshot?

Nope, a real live giggle. He's got the cutest giggle. :lovestruc

:lmao:
I have the Schoolhouse Rock DVD box set! It makes me happy.

My favorite is the preamble to the Constitution - We the peo-ple, in order to form a more perfect union...

I'm SOOOO jealous. We only have Cosmos.

Billions and Billions of stars in that one.

I wonder if DCL is getting worried about all the PIF's? I guess we'll find out soon if their passenger list is really messed up. Either a whole bunch of cabin will come available or they'll be trying to make deals with people not to go.... What with the overselling at the beginning and them sending out cruise packets to people who had cancelled their ressies......

I'm sure curious about this too. It'll be interesting to see what, if anything, happens.

At the end of this month, I'm celebrating my 25th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood.

Many, many congratulations on this achievement. And an achievement it is! :goodvibes :goodvibes

It takes a special person to stay in the parish for so many years.

Dad's celebration of the 40th of his ordination wasn't nearly as spectacular, but then - he didn't have a whole school to celebrate with him.
