They came to mid-MO from Southern Germany -- the Catholic part. I have a cousin (2nd or 3rd, I don't know him personally but, my Aunts/Uncles do) that is a Sports writer -- I believe he is fairly well known.....because of the newspaper he writes for.....

German side of my family settled in southern IL, near St.Louis.

My grandpa's cousin is in the Baseball Hall of Fame. He was an umpire! He had the same last name as my family - when I was a kid we were the only people cheering when thay announced the umpires at Indians games.

Yep it’s true, my passport was missing and hadn’t been seen since the move. I had ripped the house apart looking for it, but no luck. Although we could have used my birth certificate to get on the plane, it’s better in the long run to go ahead and get a new passport. The only problem was that it was the first week in April, and I would have to send off my birth certificate to get a new passport. If it didn’t get back in time, I wouldn’t have a method to get on the boat!

Interesting reading on this report that some people still believe that all they need to get on the REPO cruise is a birth certificate. Although the OP received a replacement passport in time, wonder how they would have felt if they had just gone with the birth certificate and once they got to the terminal and realized that REPO cruisers require a passport.

I know for us it's a tad different as we can't even go on a plane / ferry without a passport and pretty soon everyone will need one to cross the border in a car as well. Wonder how many people would blame Disney for not making this issue more clear.

Both Darren and my Dad are very into umpiring. They don't watch baseball anymore just to watch the players, they watch and critique the umpires


Now Darren and I did the Rasul (aka Surial Bath) back in 2002. The spa girls met us at the door afterwards giggling with towels. Felt very uncomfortable Apparently it is assumed that much more goes on than actually does At least in our case We had fun, just not as much fun as they thought we did

I've moved up in the world - my maiden name roughly translates to "poor people on a hill" in German.

re: the smelling like cows. They use natural fertilizer over there so there are times where it seems entire towns/villages smell this way.....

Did we ever get a DEFINITIVE answer on upgrade costs?
I want to find out once and for all if I snag one of these cabins that are coming open that I will pay the same tier pricing I did originally or not. DCL says current price. Anyone know for SURE? In other words is there the possibiity those of us who are already on the ship could pay less than a new person coming onboard?

I don't think it is the same tier unles going from the Cat 4 to a Cat 3 really was double the price on the first day........ That was for our family of 5.

To be honest I wouldn't have paid double for it -- but, our TA just knew that Jon prefers the Cat3. I really wish I would have told her only if it is xx amount difference. KWIM?

This is affecting my other plans for the trip -- time spent in WDW afterwards, etc.....
And we just found out our 10ds has the opportunity to go to Ireland with a Theater that he has recently performed with. It is the first time that they have ever had a child in one of their productions. His airline ticket would be paid for with a grant but, you can't let a 10 yr old go to Ireland with a group of adults he isn't related to and has only know for a few weeks!! LOL!

Speaking of Cat 3's and such.......the Moms and I have a "standard" Cat 3, toward the aft.......and other than us, we've not heard from anyone having any of the rest of the Cat 3's....nor the 2's & 1's. I don't believe it's possible that none of the rest of these have DISers in them.
They must be hiding from us.

We're in 8046. It is a Cat 3. I am surprised that no one in this group has a 1 or 2!

There is a town in Germany with our last name and everything. DH has been there. It smells like cows.

Learn something new every day. Germany smells like 1/3 of the State of Maine. Depending on where you are, you'll get a smell of cows, pine, or the sea. Or if you're lucky, ALL THREE!

As Tom mentioned, this happened last year. According to several sources/accounts it was caused by a freak wind storm that came from out of no where. The crew were complimented on their handling of the situation. They have had both boats back in the water for awhile now and everything is good for August

Hi everyone.

I don't know how many here read the community board. I posted on a thread there last night and this morning. My views/opinions were in the minority. There were a few posters that shared my views. One of those posters made a pretty nasty (racist) comment to another poster.

Well it seems, that some DISers now think I'm posting under two names and that I'm the person who made the nasty remarks.

I just wanted to let you all know that I did not make nor do I agree with those comments. In the 7 years that I've been on the DIS I've only had one name.

I started a thread on the community board to try to clear things up. I also PMed the person that was insulted.

At this point I don’t know what else I can do.

I stay very far away from the community board. I do go on the cruise forum. Maybe just the peeps taking cruises are nicer!!!

I'm very late to the party and wondering if this is the place to jump in. After having been on waiting lists for pretty much forever we got extremely lucky and got offered a space on this cruise and I got the booking two days ago!! I'm still walking around in a dazed state that we're going to be on the Panama Repo!! It's going to be my son who'll be 6 and myself. We are both very happy!!!!

We just decided to do a cruise last weekend and started looking at this one, but alas it was sold out. So a few nights ago, we were messing around and trying to find another cruise to do when this one showed up. It was about 10:30pm and we were already tired, but knew that if we did not sign up right then, we'd miss it! So here we are going on our very first cruise! Nice to meet ya all!
