So I sent my final payment off to Dreams Unlimited today. Not that there's anything to get too excited about. After all we simply robbed Peter to pay Paul, but we're going! :rolleyes1

Ohhhh...a very fancy PIF, Diane. No ordinary dancing bananas for you! ;)

Congrats!:cheer2:

I've moved up in the world - my maiden name roughly translates to "poor people on a hill" in German.

Lucky you. I think my married name translates to "One who spits" in Polish. You know what I mean ;)

Happy belated Birthday to your DH!

I'm very late to the party and wondering if this is the place to jump in. After having been on waiting lists for pretty much forever we got extremely lucky and got offered a space on this cruise and I got the booking two days ago!! I'm still walking around in a dazed state that we're going to be on the Panama Repo!! It's going to be my son who'll be 6 and myself. We are both very happy!!!! :goodvibes

pirate: pirate: Welcome aboard Laura and DS - just jump right in - everyone will help you get up to speed real quick pirate: pirate:

WB doesn't stop in Columbia... Not sure if just going through TPC makes it a passport situation

Our Mickey Mail packet states : Please, note, under currently proposed US government regulations all US citizens, including children, will be required to have valid US passports to sail on the Panama Canal cruises commencing 05/10/08 and 08/17/08.

Doesn't matter if we are stopping in Cartagena or not.

I just had to post a great, big Thank You to my Secret Mickey. When I came home from work today,I saw a note on the top of my mailbox. Thought ok,Kev must have a package that needs to be picked up at the post office.
Well,I pulled it off and it read "David's Florist" to "Debi Huffman" left at xxxx NE 47th St. (my neighbor). As I go and change clothes,I'm trying to think "Who sent me flowers and why?" :confused3
I went over and rang the doorbell and asked if there had been a delivery for me. "Yes,some very beautiful flowers!" I told her I had no idea who they were from or what the occassion could possibly be and that it better not be Kevin spending our vacation money! ;)
What a beautiful surprise I got when I opened the card...."Happy 100 days until the TOAL! I can't wait to meet you! Love, Secret Mickey" I wanted to cry. :sad1:
I only wish that I could take a picture and post it for you all(my puter is crashed,I'm on Kev's). I will have to describe it...White Roses,Light and Dark Pink Carnations,White Daisies, and Green Cone Flowers :flower3: . I promise to take a pic and post it when I get my carp together.

Thank you again. And I love you too!!

That reminds me, when do we find out who our Secret Mickey is?

My SM sent me some flowers :flower3: and then as a total surprise, I got something for Valentines day as well!!!! :lovestruc :yay: :yay: Aren't surprises like that fun?

Ummmmm..... CaptainCrash?

Well now...

... I must confess to have POSTED my half of the list 2 or 3 times back some time ago .... and I don't recall which MONTH or Thread series it was. < wink > However, I do maintain records on such and I just checked, and I noted that I do indeed seem to have a Word document titles SM1. However, I did not open it as it is, of course, a secret document. And I should NOT be taking my responsibilities lightly.

You know... as yet I still don't know who MY Secret Mickey benefactors were. I was supposed to find out but you see.... Tina (DownRiverMama) had half the list so that we could both participate ... and I don't recall if Tina posted it or not. The postings were so busy back then. Which is why I posted my list 2 or 3 times.

At any rate, Seeing as it's only 3 months til we cruise I don't see any reason to make a big fuss over it. WHy not W-A-I-T until then? < loud snickerring > At any rate, if anyone REALLY wants to know - truly and seriously - then let me know and I'll send over my fee schedule. I charge so and so for revealing if your Secret Mickey resides east or west of the Mississippi... and I chareg so and so if their zip code ends in an odd or even number. And fee schedule list goes on and on. Oh... and all compensation is in Mickey Bar units.

Tina may have a seperate fee schedule ... that is ... if she can find HER list! < chuckles > Getting her to FIND her list may involve a special fee all by itself!

Seriously, it warms my heart to learn some folks have taken this little flight of fancy beyond it's original design... and in such a wonderful way. May I offer my kind compliments for the extra joy and fun you've shared with the Precruise Secret Mickey Game Tina and I hosted.

Did we ever get a DEFINITIVE answer on upgrade costs?
I want to find out once and for all if I snag one of these cabins that are coming open that I will pay the same tier pricing I did originally or not. DCL says current price. Anyone know for SURE? In other words is there the possibiity those of us who are already on the ship could pay less than a new person coming onboard?

If your reservation number remains the same you shouldn't be paying the prevailing rates. It should hold onto the price that was effective the day you booked it therefore carry over into the new category. Example if you are in a category 11 and want to upgrade to a category 9 it should price out at what the category 9 was on the day you booked your cruise

If you hold a new reservation because you want to hold that cabin when you see it online so not to lose it then you will pay the new price as of that day. Of course if you are paid in full you do not want to hold a new reservation

I have done this for many of my clients and this is how it has always worked
Now I don't know if it is different if you are a consumer calling Disney directly.

Good luck -

Ditto
Except that I took the advice and no longer even go to the community boards and pretty much only this thread- only occasionally on some threads in the cruise forum. I'd rather stay away from those forums than end up going poof here. LOL

The Wootoff is still going!

Yeah...

... I noticed. I'm hoping to catch a refurb ZUNE or something. I should have picked one up the last time I saw it. Now all that's left are the EBAY models which I'm mildly reluctant to buy. May I'm wrong but I trust Woot a little more then an entity I know next to nothing about.

ooh
well now don't I feel stupid.
:rotfl:
ohwell... I don't know what Zune is either. And I guess I don't need to be buying anything right now anyway.... so maybe it's for the best. LOL

I got this wonderful little MP3 player for only $16 + tax ... shipped FREE. It has 2 GB capacity and you can expand the memory up to a total max of 4GB. The color screen is so-so but it has an FM tuner and can record too. Plus it has a 5 band Equalizer. AND... the "refurb" letters are stick on - so they rub off and the unit looks 1st quality then!

The price on this refurb at BUY.com is $25.95 but you can knock off $10 by checkingout with google checkout. It has little window offerring an extra $10 off on the page.

AND.... if you buy it - you'll find operating software already ON the player - so just plug it in. However, you may find that it will only sync up with ONE of your USB ports. Not just any port. SO if it does not sync initially then try another port.

I think this is a square deal..

Actually you wil have to pay the prevailing rate- not the rate you paid in the beginning. I know because we tried to see how much it would be to add the 2 youngest kids to our cat 6 room, get rid of the cat 11 room and stick our other child "on paper only" in one of Tom's cabins... it wasn't saving even anymore than the onboard credit we had for the cat 11 (from DCL and TA) because the 2 kids moving over to cat 6 room would be at prevailing rate- not the tier we paid originally. And they also told us if we moved to other rooms (cheaper) if they were to become available- it would be at the rate it was then, not the tier we paid for our room. :(
So... basically there was no way we'd really go on the cruise cheaper now that the prices had went up so high- even if we moved down to a less expensive category, because we got in on one of the lowest tiers originally.

It is slow here this afternoon so I am working on my door magnets. I would post them but I don't know how.:confused3 I did them in PowerPoint and Word. I am trying to weed them down to 5 because that is what comes in a package of magnetic paper. Boy, that stuff isn't cheap.
We found lots of pkgs, in varying sizes, of magnetic paper at the dollar store (specifically Dollar Tree)- so they were $1 a pkg! Do you have any stores like that around you?

Speaking of Cat 3's and such.......the Moms and I have a "standard" Cat 3, toward the aft.......and other than us, we've not heard from anyone having any of the rest of the Cat 3's....nor the 2's & 1's. I don't believe it's possible that none of the rest of these have DISers in them.
They must be hiding from us.
Isn't buddybear in a suite? and I think our TA agent is in a suite also... weren't there others that mentioned it in the beginning but just not like posting about it recently- like back last July or so?

PJ Breakfast Poll

Hey Crew!

We're trying to decide what day would be most popular for our PJ breakfast at Lumiere's. Tom has a poll set up on the planning boards. Here's the link: http://www.thepiratezone.us/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=88 .

If you haven't voted yet, head on over there and let us know what day you think would be best. If you have already voted but changed your mind, Tom has the poll set up so that you can go in and change your vote if you want to. We'll keep the poll open through Friday afternoon, and we'll go with whatever the majority chooses. This way we'll have a decision by Friday night, so that if you want to plan Palo or spa ressies around it, you can.

Also, once we have a day chosen, I'll start a thread on the planning board for that day with a list of interested pirates. You'll be able to sign up there on the thread or PM me here on the DIS. I'll be sure to give you a reminder or two to vote, and I'll let you know next Friday what day won the poll and when you can sign up.

I'd like to sign up 26 souls for the PJ breakfast.... good no matter which day we choose. Who do I see about this? < wink >

Is the book your son is reading written for kids? I have been having trouble finding something like that for DS9 to read...

---------------

Pamela

Yes, it's written for kids (grades 3-6). Here's a link to it on Amazon.

Anyone who is interested in the zip lines, there may be some openings in the 12:00 time.

I've been trying all week to get on this or the 2:00 p.m. timeslot to no avail. I did get an email saying they'll get back to me ASAP. Hopefully, we get back to the ship more asap than they return emails.

I don't know if this helps as with anytime we call DCL...it depends who you spoke with...I asked about possibly upgrading as a surprise for my family..I was told that should that cabon come open and I manage to get it offered to me..it would be at the current price. :scared1: Since I think I got a pretty good deal...I told them thanks but no thanks....it was something I was looking at for fun but not to spend more (I mean..I am aware I would have had to pay to upgrade but the cost was going to be so different it wasn't worth it)
