BTW, my TA told me that for some reason we were not charged the $5 per port charge that was discussed here a few weeks ago. So after a few phone calls to clarify DCL told her yes they would charge but when it came down to it we were not charged it. Same amt that we were told when we booked. I guess we slipped through the cracks. :confused3

And this was the same for the July family cruise which we have 7 times $5 x 3 or 15 times 7 === DID I MENTION I HATE MATH??????

Disneyland maps

If you go to the DL website and scroll to the bottom, select the "contact us" form, you can have them mail you the maps.

Need to give them mailing address and probably language and they will mail them.

Thanks Tom. I just sent my request.

Maybe these will help you:

Funny and wrong all at the same time :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I checked out the Disneyland website and it says for a 1 Day,Single Park,Adult $66.00. That might have to do. :confused3

You might want to check some of the ticket brokers, you may be able to do a little better. I know the mousesavers newsletter often has specials for both WDW and DL listed.

Lisa,

.. thank you. I get a bit hesitant sometimes just before I tap the post button. And sometimes I erase what I've written. Either way - I read and re-read some of the "personal" things I write - and it's good to see sometimes. I end up thinking about things I almost never think about otherwise.

It's funny, when I first started posting I felt hesitant about posting stuff about myself. But, I feel very comfortable with this group & just fling most of it out there now.

At any rate, I wuz going to say that I bet 99% of those families who admit to being less prepared then they'd like would STILL show as being MORE PREPARED than we were to be new parents. We could not even settle on a name for Julianna for a week after she was born! The hospital was going nuts with or delay in naming her.

One of my employees just had a baby & was feeling very stressed about her ability to care for her new daughter. I was telling her stories about all the mistakes I made with my first DS. Like the first time we took him out in the car, we didn't know the clip on the car seat needed to slide up on his chest. We were at a light on a very steep hill when DS started crying. I leaned over the seat to find him crumpled in a ball because he fell out of the car seat (what a maroon) I had lots of stories like that to tell this new Mom. When we were done, she said "wow, I feel so much better now" I guess she thought I was smarter because I"m the boss. :rotfl2:

So have I ever mentioned that I named Julianna? I choose Julianna as a name becuae it was the name of a disturnbingly attractive young lady I sat next to on a flight back from Chicago for business - who sat next to me and would not shut up. Initially, on that flight I ignored the young lady as i was thinking ... hmmm... pretty girl but I'm tired - not feel talkative and - of course - I was very happily married. But she was sort of unusually attractive. Well... she kept opening dialog with me - and I would reply but NOT give her continuing questions -yet I would drop the conversation on diplomaticly neutral terms - and she just kept talking! In the end we chatted the ENTIRE flight and I showed her my spouses picture while mentioning I've been with her so and so number of years (I always do that while traveling) - and I never once asked her name. It turns out she was on a relo flight to LA to take a job in advertising sales. Just my luck - I had a gregarious looker sitting next to me who was possibly "practicing". At any rate, the last thing she offerred as we stood to deplane was her name ... Julianna. And I thought - now that's a pretty name.

So I named my daughter after an attractive young lady I met on a flight from Chicago. Alicia usually rolls her eyes when I recant this story wih appropriate drama.

I guess for us starting up as new parents was almost handled with the same level of preparation and attention to detail as the moment when I proposed marriage to Alicia. Yup... no ring... no flowers... no romance... and I didn't ask her Dad for her hand in advance. Oh yeah... and I had NO common sense at the time. Remember ... when I called her Dad to ask for her hand - after her Dad did his "talk" regarding his expectations for me providing a certain "future" for her and so on - he closed with an admonishing question.... he said: "now are you SURE you can handle her?".

Yup.... you may have briefly mixed up today with yesterday - but I went "space cadet" as Alicia would quip when right after gymnastics I forgot about the Doctors Examination/Physical we scheduled for right after ballet/tap. I even called to ask our health insurance this morning to review certain aspects of the coming exam - and still right after Kaleas' dance class I forgot about the Doctors appointment.

Yes, but we have new fishes and a snorkeling Mickey to watch....

So what should the theme of our all night party be on booking night? Pajama party?:confused3

remind me. what time does the party start on the east coast?

I think that definitely crosses DL off our list of things to do on the Saturday - we were considering it but I don't think so now.

Maybe we should have a GTG for those not going into DL on the Saturday? Maybe an ice cream social type event at DTD?

I checked out the Disneyland website and it says for a 1 Day,Single Park,Adult $66.00. That might have to do. :confused3

You find that purchasing multiday tickets is only way to get a good deal for DL tickets. Many times we can get 2 days for the price of one.

I am glad I am starting the party at 9pm PDT. Maybe this makes up for having to get up at 4am on booking day. :yay:

Thanks for the input. The luggage doesn't worry me too much - we'll only have one (large) check-in going out - probably two coming back (you know how it is). And no problems is what I want to hear.

My only past experience with Delta was actually pretty good.... I was chaperoning a youth group to Orlando, and we had just boarded the flight to Orlando after taking the red-eye to Atlanta, when one of the guys calls me over. Seems there was a problem.

One of our teens had zippered his sweatshirt to his eyelid. :scared1: Kinda' like that scene from There's Something About Mary. :scared1: :scared1:

Now, I have a lot of experience travelling with teens, but this was a new one. We called over the flight attendent who was as perplexed as I was. But they weren't going to hold up the flight, and he wasn't about to fly with a sweatshirt zippered to his eyelid, so the two of us were hussled off the plain to await the paremedics.

Then began of the more surreal experiences I've had as a youth group advisor, as a constant stream of flight attendents, Delta personell, etc. came buy to see the remarkable site while the paramedics debated how best to remove the sweatshirt. They finally decided the best approach was a firm yank - which worked, leaving behind some swelling but no harm done.

Meanwhile, the Delta folk had (without prompting) booked us on the next flight and we were on our way soon after. They treated us very nicely and sympathetically (only laughing while out of site I'm sure).

Lisa will appreciate this, we took our 2006 (and only) cruise a week after Invincible came out. Great to see it for "free" on board the Magic!

Ya, thats why we booked our last summer's Wonder trip so we could see Ratoullie for free. :rotfl2:

There are some fun things to do in DCA. But if it came down to a choice between 1 park or no park, I'd go for DL.

Don't give up hope, there may be some ticket deals that come out later this summer. DL doesn't adverstise the next deal until the current one is up.

:scared1: OK - it was supposed to be 91 degrees and instead it is 100! :scared1:

This is not bragging because it is just too darn hot!!!

DD is giving the dogs a bath and I'm sitting here board to death. I'd help her but seems I've developed this almost unbearable tennis elbow. (Might have something to do with suddenly becoming the unofficial photographer for St. Paul. Seems that Brother Michael has taken toasking me to attend all some of the sports events he hasn't been able to take pictures of such as the track meets, baseball and now softball.....) SO......I will make a token appearance once she's almost done - the worst part about the heat - DH doesn't think the pool water needs to be heated - to me - its freezing. And really if the dog doesn't want to go into the water with this heat - can you blame me?
