And on another note - PAULA: we are now finalizing the reservations for travel to Boston using that DOCKERS' FLY FREE promotion!

Tom, I am glad that worked out for you. I used one of mine for my Mom's trip to Boston. I just ended up purchasing my ticket--I am only going up for the weekend May 16th-19th to celebrate my Nana's 90th Bday. I ended up with 199.50 for the flight--now it is over 400. Mom is staying for a couple weeks so she was more free with her dates. I would still like to use the other to go to Vegas, but I really don't have the time to take another trip. Boston May, Hilton Head June and then the TOAL in August and I still need to work.;) Also the rental damage. loss of rent for at least 3 months and adding a bedroom and bath to it weren't really expected.:rolleyes1

Don't do it! Listen to your wise DH. ;)

Listen to your dis friends... do it do it...

I walked into a Starbucks with a buy-one-get-one-free coupon for a Grande Latte. I handed it to the girl and she looked over at a little chalkboard that said 'buy one-get one free.' 'They're already buy-one-get-one-free,' she said, 'so I guess they're both free'.

She Handed me my free Lattes and I walked out the door.

You know that really works at CVS......:rolleyes1

Space prices + Disney markup = :scared1:
I think I'll book that one on my own.

ITA on the vacation thing, Crash. Growing up we hardly ever went on vacation. Two weeks in summer was spent visiting grandparents 2 states away. We did travel a lot, but only saw the inside of ice rinks. We took one trip to WDW and one trip to DC/Williamsburg/Gettysburg in the 18 years I lived at home. DH & I started the same trend. In the first 10 years we were married we went on our honeymoon & Big Bear for a week when we lived in SoCal, that's it. THEN we went on our first DCL trip in 2004. At some point during that trip, we looked at eachother and said, "This is ridiculous. We can afford to do this once a year. We need to do this once a year!"

...and we have.

We were the same way. Our vacations growing up were always to Boston and we stayed with Nana. Alan & I married in '84 and we headed to Ft. Myers twice (stayed with friends) and once to Siesta Key. Took us until '95 to really start vacationing thanks to our DVC purchase. But it has really been in the last 7-8 years that we have been able to take some "nice" vacations.

90! Oh my goodness... My BFF called me a little while ago and invited me to DL this weeked - all expenses paid. The person she was going with backed out at the last minute. Yiippppeee!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I was having DL withdrawls.

Can I get maps or anything for anyone while I'm there?

Penny

I (and my kids) would love DL maps if you don't mind getting us a set!

Thanks!

The maps offer reminded me to post this....

Anyone going to WDW after the trip (or separately or for a cool free gift), you can get customized WDW maps

Also, the vacation planning DVD from Disney includes both DL and WDW and can be ordered here

Happy Birthday Lauryn!!!

Happy Birthday Dylan!!!

SNOW :scared1:

It was 70 here yesterday and supposed to be 75 today. I can't imagine snow!!! Hope you all stay warm and dry!

Wow. You're in for a very melt-y weekend.

We're expecting t-storms for little league openning day.

Don't feel too sorry for us with the snow here -- we're 20 inches below normal and the kids haven't missed a single day of school due to weather. That said, Spring in Colorado is my least favorite season -- it just can't seem to figure out if it's winter, spring or summer. We can have 80 degrees one day followed the next day by snow. This can occur about anytime through May.

I'm looking out the window right now and it's snowing like crazy, but it's only sticking on the grass, roofs and cars. It's melting immediately on the streets and sidewalks, so not too bad. Tomorrow, it'll all be gone and by the weekend it will be a distant memory with lots of sunshine and normal Springtime temps of 60's and 70's.

Just went through my DL backpack and found 5 maps. The thing is that my girls picked them up and they are in Chinese, Spanish, Japanese, German and French. So anyone interested in knowing where the toilettens are let me know. :lmao:

Sorry about dredging up these grundhog moments - but I'm just trying to catch up. This brings me woefully up to only posting 206 pg 14.

Prize...??? Prize ....???? .... what prize????!

I maintain... I simply Mr. Innocent here....

OK... We too just bought our air fare from MCO back to LA. It set us back $169 pp on United (our preferred airline) and we had a $100 discount certificate - so the per person cost averages out to $144 per person! That's not tooo bad considering we accumulate 10,000 more miles again as a family. 10,000 miles is 40% of nother free 48 state saver award!

The net effect of all this is Alicia and Kalea are each flying into Boston for $125 in DOckers purchases + $90 in processing fees. And I am coughing up 25,000 miles each plus $22.50 to go on United to Boston. Our total spent is $250 + 180 + $45 = $475 for $250 in Dockers (all on sale) plus 4 airline seats from LA to Boston this June! My United seats are now selling for $560 and Alicia's Air Tran seats are selling for $335. So we got $250 in Dockers + $1785 in air travel for $560. Roughly $2,035 in goods and services for $560 and 50,000 United miles... an acceptable deal I'd say!

So I guess we've got our flights all stitched up for now .... except for the REFUND on that ATA flight to Honolulu ... with thier bankruptcy we're now waiting on a refund from our Visa card! Once that's done it'll be kisses at the side of a jet then off into the wild blue yonder for Boston next!
