Although the snow tomorrow is depressing... 90's is a little too warm. It's still spring and the 70's this weekend is perfect for me. I like to enjoy the change in seasons and would like a couple of months of 70's before we hit the 90's on a regular basis.

Hey -

My DGkids love the idea that I have tattoos' - I have permanent eye liner (which are tattoos!)
However, I am thinking about getting a "real" tattoo - I need to talk to a tattoo artist - something w/ my DGkids names & hearts or .....? I told the DGkids about it and they want to go w/me to pick out just the right one. Melissa (DGD) is very artistic and is going to start designing some for me!!

Some people have an attitude about tattoos - frequently negative! I happen to have a wonderful friend who has an elaborate tattoo over quite a bit of his body - it represents a wonderful love story. It's beautiful.

It is a personal decision - if its what you want - do it!!!

(caveat: while I am a "grandma"
- I am also from the "60's flower power" generation!) Peace & Love !!!

Sorry about dredging up these grundhog moments - but I'm just trying to catch up. This brings me woefully up to only posting 206 pg 14.

Yes, see CaptainCrash for your prize!

Prize...??? Prize ....???? .... what prize????!

A Mickey bar, a kiss from Crash, and two from me!

When are you going in June? I will be down there too....

1) What is your favorite flavor of ICE CREAM or substitute favorite DESSERT
Cake Batter from coldstone or Party Cake from turkey hill (mmmcake!)

2) If you could have any car as your own "FREE" to use for a year - what would it be?
I actually really like my malibu..so maybe the new one?

3) If you could visit any one place on the planet for 7 days - what destination would you choose. All expenses paid however, you cannot take any physical souveneers back with you.
too tough..I want to go everywhere!

4-5-6) If you had Aladdin's lamp and 3 wishes... what would be your 3 wishes? The same limitations apply as in the Disney version - you can't raise the dead, you can't make someone love you, and you can't wish for more wishes.
1) good health for family and friends
2) a job that would be enjoyable yet let me live comfortably (and still travel too!)
3) A happy marriage with heaping scoops of love, laughter and strength sprinkled with a kid or 2!

7) Tell us something about yourself that you've never posted here before.
Graduated college as President of Alphi Chi our colleges honor society.

Chrissie

Chrissie ... I had to say I liked your replies to the "7" questions. The 3 wishes are direct and to the point. And so you were the President of your schools' honor society. I was chief party animal as president of our schools' Asian Student Union. we used to throw these huge money raising parties with 500+ kids.

250 pages, 3750 posts they are closed, long threads were said to slow the Disboards down. Personally I thought it was Crash, but he says he is Mr Innocent.

I maintain... I simply Mr. Innocent here....

Again... I must stand up again to defend my INNOCENCE. You'll not find another cleaner record than mine. That is, after you exclude that thing with the candy Union Jack G-strings.... oh yeah, and please disregard the repeated ejections from DIS chat, as those were all the fault of BIP <wink>.... and no - the point warnings on my DIS record did not result in any permanent point assignments ... so I AM still quite INNOCENT.... eh?

well i finally made my plane reservations for this trip. aug 11 i fly to vegas spend 2 nights there, than aug 13 i fly to lax spend 4 nights in disneyland.
i never been to vegas or disneyland.

OK... We too just bought our air fare from MCO back to LA. It set us back $169 pp on United (our preferred airline) and we had a $100 discount certificate - so the per person cost averages out to $144 per person! That's not tooo bad considering we accumulate 10,000 more miles again as a family. 10,000 miles is 40% of nother free 48 state saver award!

And on another note - PAULA: we are now finalizing the reservations for travel to Boston using that DOCKERS' FLY FREE promotion! They took a while before they got to our request - but the reservations rep is pretty nice about it. FYI ... they are nominally limited on seats for a June departure - and it's not built around the dollar cost - rather they have "set" space to book with. We used to think if they didn't want to spend above a certain dollar amount - so we'd be happy to offer cash to make up the difference to get flights more in line to whats' ideal for us - but NO... they can't take our cash to get us different flights.

SO... things are working out - as we had only 2 vouchers (what am I going to do with more than $250 in Dockers? As it was $125 in Mens' Docker purchases per free flight cert.) .... so we were gonna buy 2 matching airline tickets to go with the free flights offerred. Only - it seems the flights to match are more expensive then we want to spend now. The free Dockers' tickets are worth $335 each while the matching flights I want re $400 each. Making the free flights offerred that much more of a good deal in some ways. So for awhile I was in a grumpy mood since we were considering having Alicia and Kalea fly on the Docker deal - but have me and Julianna stay home because we didn't want to spend so much to fly.

THEN as luck would have it the day before there was NO frequent flyer space to get nearly free seats with our United miles - and today all of a sudden we found United has space to offer for milage redemption! The return flight timing is PERFECT - and the out bound timing is sort of OK.

The net effect of all this is Alicia and Kalea are each flying into Boston for $125 in DOckers purchases + $90 in processing fees. And I am coughing up 25,000 miles each plus $22.50 to go on United to Boston. Our total spent is $250 + 180 + $45 = $475 for $250 in Dockers (all on sale) plus 4 airline seats from LA to Boston this June! My United seats are now selling for $560 and Alicia's Air Tran seats are selling for $335. So we got $250 in Dockers + $1785 in air travel for $560. Roughly $2,035 in goods and services for $560 and 50,000 United miles... an acceptable deal I'd say!

So I guess we've got our flights all stitched up for now .... except for the REFUND on that ATA flight to Honolulu ... with thier bankruptcy we're now waiting on a refund from our Visa card! Once that's done it'll be kisses at the side of a jet then off into the wild blue yonder for Boston next!

At any rate... when ya think Disney will have a shore excursion of a suborbital space shot from Cape Canaveral?

Space prices + Disney markup = :scared1:
I think I'll book that one on my own.

ITA on the vacation thing, Crash. Growing up we hardly ever went on vacation. Two weeks in summer was spent visiting grandparents 2 states away. We did travel a lot, but only saw the inside of ice rinks. We took one trip to WDW and one trip to DC/Williamsburg/Gettysburg in the 18 years I lived at home. DH & I started the same trend. In the first 10 years we were married we went on our honeymoon & Big Bear for a week when we lived in SoCal, that's it. THEN we went on our first DCL trip in 2004. At some point during that trip, we looked at eachother and said, "This is ridiculous. We can afford to do this once a year. We need to do this once a year!"

...and we have.

PLEASE let the forecasters be wrong..... they're saying we may have up to six inches of the fluffy white stuff on the ground by mid-day tomorrow.:headache: I like the weekend forecast better-- upper 60's and 70's by Monday.:cool1:

Wow. You're in for a very melt-y weekend.

We're expecting t-storms for little league openning day.

90! Oh my goodness... My BFF called me a little while ago and invited me to DL this weeked - all expenses paid. The person she was going with backed out at the last minute. Yiippppeee!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

YAY! Have a great time! I'd love a DL map if you end up with an extra.

:yay: :yay: :yay: I want some!!!!:yay: :yay: :yay:

Yes, I have up to $3000USD coverage through the card I used to book the tickets, although, obviously, I am going to hammer BA to pay up as hard as I can first. I've alerted the credit card company and filed a claim and they said to let them know within 21 days if the airline has not indicated they will compensate. I also had separate travel insurance (not through BA) and I believe this will also cover my expenses since this occured on the European part of the trip (my coverage did not include the legs from the USA, but BA confirmed the luggage had arrived at Heathrow, but never made it to Charles DeGaulle).

I am just thankful we packed necessities in our carry-on. I had a bag lost in Hong Kong a couple of years ago, but it arrived on the next flight in, but ever since then, I pack my small cosmetics in my ziploc bag (and with five people, we were able to use five ziploc bags).

And luckily my wife and son had packed their contact lens trays/solution and glasses in their carry-on because they wanted to take out their contacts to sleep on the plane.
I never travel light :lmao: But need to learn to now. . I will be packing and repacking to see where everything needs to go. Glad you had all the insurance. I see so many really expensive vacations ruined due to being too cheap to buy the plans. Most of the Lost Luggage on the credit cards now have shrunk to next to nothing. I'm glad you had a good time. It seems you saw everything. Personally I was in awe of the jewels at the Tower of London. We plan to go back as DH wasn't with us on that trip.

Okay........The flu finally made it my way here. I was up all night and now DH is on his way home with it!!!

We need to have warm weather here.:sad2: :sad2:

Just enjoy "Cheryls Wonderful Escapades". :rotfl: :rotfl: That will make you chuckle.

Hi Gang,
I had an uneventful drive from L.A. to S.F. But, after having a fun get together w/DS & all DGkids - including dinner out - I got food poisoning!! YUK!! So, now playing ketchup - here and w/my "to-do" list.
We were going into S.F. today to watch the Olympic torch relay - but that got nixed also.
Although a bit chilly - the weather is great and just going to be nicer and Warmer!!
Cheers to all!!

Feel better :goodvibes

Sorry I have missed so many Birthdays and Anniversaries. Just not enough time lately to keep up real time. So

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY AND ANNIVERSARY to those I have missed:hippie:

Just a few chuckles to start the day.

I couldn't find my luggage at the airport baggage area, so I went to the lost luggage office and told the woman there that my bags never showed up. She smiled and told me not to worry because she was a trained professional and I was in good hands. 'Now,' she asked me, has your plane arrived yet?'

While looking at a house, my brother asked the real Estate agent which direction was north because, he explained, he didn't want the sun waking him up every morning. She asked, 'Does the sun rise in the north?' When my brother explained that the sun rises in the East, and has for sometime, she shook her head and said, 'Oh I don't keep up with all that stuff.'

My sister has a lifesaving tool in her car designed to cut through a seat belt if she gets trapped. She keeps it in the trunk

While working at a pizza parlor I observed a man Ordering a small pizza to go. He appeared to be alone and the cook asked Him if he would like it cut into 4 pieces or 6. He thought about it for some time before responding. 'Just cut it into 4 pieces; I don't think I'm hungry enough to eat 6 pieces

I walked into a Starbucks with a buy-one-get-one-free coupon for a Grande Latte. I handed it to the girl and she looked over at a little chalkboard that said 'buy one-get one free.' 'They're already buy-one-get-one-free,' she said, 'so I guess they're both free'.

She Handed me my free Lattes and I walked out the door.
