HAPPY BIRTHDAY CADE

pirate2.jpg

They put a parking lot on a piece of land
When the supermarket used to stand.
Before that they put up a bowling alley
On the site that used to be the local palais.
Thats where the big bands used to come and play.
My sister went there on a saturday.

Come dancing,
All her boyfriends used to come and call.
Why not come dancing, its only natural?...:mic: <= that's my little punk rock guy.

My little bro calles me tonight & says, I know you got kids to take care of, but, Mick Jones is playing at the WorldCafe tonight. Wanna go? WWWAAAAHHHH

http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2007/12/26/carbonsilicons-mick-jones-and-tony-james-talk-ferris-bueller-fascism-plus-watch-three-live-songs/

So this stanza is now appropriate...

My sisters married and she lives on an estate.
Her daughters go out, now its her turn to wait.
She knows they get away with things she never could,
But if I asked her I wonder if she would,

Come dancing,
Come on sister, have yourself a ball.
Dont be afraid to come dancing,
Its only natural.

Here is DH response to Delta

Note: This reply will be copied to others beside Delta

As you stated in your reply, this is not the response I was hoping for and I
am disappointed.....

Great letter. I have saved a copy and may use parts of it if necessary (hopefully not).

I got a rock.

The problems we have here is that people are going into these homes and stealing all of the copper piping. We had someone buying a home from one of our borrowers as a short sale. They all went to the closing and when the buyers went to the home all of the walls were busted and the pipes were gone. The former owners did not do this - they moved out the week before closing and the buyers did a walk through 2 days before closing. Heck low lifes around here also steal alum downspouts off homes and copper off churches. SCUM.

We had the same issue with copper pipes being stolen in our new home area. The builder had to put security cameras up in the neighborhood as theives would come into the construction site at night and steal the copper. There were two homes down the block that had all of the piping stolen. Fortunately, our house was next to an existing home so I think that distracted would be thieves.

My sister had her newly constructed house broken into on closing day and was vandalized. They kicked out drywall in the bedrooms and broke some mirrors.

Unfortunately, nothing ceases to amaze me anymore. We just have to do our best to instill goodness in our kids -- to care for others, not only those who are less fortunate, but those who are "more fortunate" and to care about the property of others. We often get compliments about how thoughtful our kids are and those moments make us prouder than any of their other accomplishments (school, sports, etc.)

good evenging everyone! happy birthday to those celebrating! hope you all had a great day!

It's funny, this song is in one of my gym mixes, always makes me think of either of my two younger brothers.

Good luck selling, after 30 days I wouldn't be ready to reduce either. Are you all just tired of the hassle of dealing with your rental? My other 2 have some great tennants---one runs a little behind on the rent around December of every year and then get caught up with their tax return. But they both keep things nice and fix the little things tthemselves.

I'm glad to hear not all tennants are bad. I've been running up to my parents for the last few weekends to help my Dad empty out and fix up my grandmother's house so he can rent it. After all these stories, I was ready to tell him to board it up and run!

The problem is that it's on the same property as my parent's house. If I jumped out my old bedroom window, i would hit my grandmother's house before I hit the ground, that's how close it is. So selling it isn't an option for them right now.

Love the pics Paula:thumbsup2 Looks like Maui-Lahaina:confused3

I read your response out of context. I thought you were comparing the other Paula, PBader's pictures of the mess from her tennants to the Maui-Lahaina. I was just about to put that hotel on my Never Stay There list.

Mike, there are some really great people out there. Hope you all find the perfect tennant.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: That would be topps on my list too of places to avoid like the plague:rotfl2:

Coral they lived there almost 3 years, after the 1st year it went on month to month and I gave them almost a 60 day notice that I was terminating their lease. I am just thankful they moved, if I would have had to evict them they would still be living there.:sad2:

This looks like a case for Judge Judy! Boy, would she tear them a new one!!!

Hi Everyone --

Thanks to those sharing prices on transportation. We're considering maybe staying at DL Thursday and Friday night and then heading over to the port on Saturday night (doing a bit of laundry) . . .Any suggestions on getting from DL to the Double Tree (or other port hotel) on Saturday?

We're so excited to go to DL. My DH was there last when he was 6 yo. None of the rest of us have been there before. We are a bit concerned about how crowded it will be. Do lots of European come out of the woodwork in August?

We're starting to get very, very excited. Our house will go on the market this weekend . . then I can focus on the cruise again . . . that is until we get an offer and have to find a new house to move into . . .LOL

Have a wonderful evening :)

Good luck on selling the house. We put our house on the market one year ago this week. We sold it in mid-May. Although it was on the market for less than 45 days, it seemed like an eternity. Hopefully you'll be one of the lucky ones who sells their house the first week (our last house was sold the first day it was listed).

Thanks! I'll look into this right away. I seem to be in a transportation booking mode today.

We used Super Shuttle on our last trip to DL in April 2007 and they were very accomodating and saved us quite a bit of money. (There are 7 of us). We will be using them for our transfers from Amtrak to DL and DL to the Port.

PS, I am not sure how we will possibly get stuff for 21 days in our suitcases. THis is going to be a challenge. Just for fun, why don't we go on a long trip where we need a change of clothes for dinner every evening too. That will only add about 6 extra suitcases...WHAT HAVE I DONE TO MYSELF?

Okay, panic over...thanks for hanging in there with me.

Christopher . . thanks for the encouragement . .LOL. DH is saying the house will sell in less than 30 days. I'm thankful it will sell with the way the media is talking about this market. We're choosing not to particpate in the recession . . .LOL The house is about 25 years old, but everything has been replaced or updated. DH is even getting new windows put in this week. I was teasing my sister that we will finally flip our first house and it only took EIGHT years . . .LOL

Have a lovely evening!

Although I'm a Mizzou fan, having lived near Lawrence, KS for 8 of the past 9 years, I'm glad that KU won the Final 4 Championship tonight! I've got a lot of happy friends back in KC.

Have a lovely evening!

We had replaced or updated everything as well, including the kitchen and basement. Our realtor (a friend of ours) let us know a couple of months ago that ours was the third highest selling price in the neighborhood last year (there were about 20 homes sold in the neighborhood in 2007). Even though we were far from the largest home, the realtor attributed the selling price to the updates we did. So here's to selling it for your full asking price the first day!

Cheryl, I sure wouldn't call them "peeps" by any stretch of the imagination.:confused3
This is the same house that on Mother's day a limb fell and knocked all the power out and blew out my water line when it was hooked back up. When I walked into the basement that day, I about had a fit and told them they needed to get it cleaned up that it was a fire hazard. I should have went back and checked, but she was my friend and I trusted her when she told ne they did.:rolleyes1

You are so right............these were not of the human race but animals!!! It is a shame but whenever we heard someone bought to rent in our neighborhood we all hated the owner. Most renters here had destroyed houses too!!! I only saw the outsides detroyed and I could not imagine til your pictures of what the inside might have looked like!!!:scared1: :scared1: The outside looked like the perfect little house!!!:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 You deserve a long vacation now after all the cleaning-up you did.

Thanks for getting that much detail. We actually have a slightly lower rate now using my parents AARP rate.
I had actually talked to my parents about getting a cab as I am sure the hotel shuttle was going to be in hot demand. I am planning on us being at the port as close to 10 as we can get. Your info confirms we need to not wait for the hotel shuttle.
I just had a vision of a lot of us trying to get on the same shuttle. Since it is only 2.5 miles away a). the shuttle should be able to make quick trips b) the cab should not be too much for us taking that option.

They seemed very nice and were willing to start early trips to the terminal because I said it would not be well received to take a break for lunch before everyone got to the Port. :rolleyes1 I still have a few weeks to decide what I am doing as I have the transfers but not paid in full yet. :flower3:

Quick fly-by posting.....
Well the mange has finally spread to me. Thanks DD & DH.

I sucked it up and made it to work for half a day. I am supposed to be resting but felt compelled to ketchup at least.

Hope you are feeling better Kristana!!!:flower3:

Someone stole dh's identity this past summer and opened a ton of credit cards and bought a new Mercedes!
The funny thing was with the Mercedes the guy told him he was dh's son. DH asked the bank (that did the loan) whose son he could say he was for a brand new car?

It was not me!!!;) I would have bought a Rolls!!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
