Thanks! Never did that before! Will also use some of the wording in your letter, too! We are two flying out and six flying back on Delta. I booked in Sept. and Oct., so the fares have skyrocketed since then, but I don't think I should have to pay all that extra money just because they have decided to change their policy!

Funny thing is our prices are a little cheaper than when we first booked. About $30 cheaper on Delta and about $70 cheaper on Continental - Go Figure.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

I'm catching up, so bear with me as far as the old quotes

Should create a "things to remember in August" thread.....
Weren't we supposed to say something to someone else's husband? See forgot already:confused:

Oh drat! Yeah, we were supposed to ask someone's DH if he brough his tiara.
Laura maybe?

Ya it was Laurie's (MrsScooby) DH Darren that we are going to kid about the tiaras.

Mrs. Scoobie...I had the right screen name in my head, slightly off on the real name.
Do I still get credit??
Actually bonus points M, my real name is Laura. My family and friends call me Laurie though (except for my Aunt and Uncle-they still call me Laura). When I sign up for anything DCL I have to put Laura down. I've gotten use to answering to both so no big deal. As far as the tiaras, Darren was making fun of me (his favorite passtime:rolleyes:) and chances are he will have plenty of sarcastic comments come August so even if folks forget, he'll remind you:rolleyes1 I will make a point of thanking your DH , for the tall ships in front of your kids though, hopefully I can keep a straight face and not ruin it:guilty: May work better if I have my kids or Dh do it;)

Yes, I think I will just put the girls to bed the night before in their clothes since they are not good morning people at the best of times.
When we are at WDW even the Mickey phone call does not do it.
For the 1st time I am contemplating getting up for ropedrop by myself and meeting up w/ the rest of them later in our June trip. Makes for a conflict-free morning.
I use to do that during the summer time with the kids, Saved so much time to have them sleep in their shorts and t-shirts. We'll do this on the DCL as well if we can

I love Disney, but I have a hard time with permanently afixing any corporate symbol on my body. I had a temp Tink at WDW for a few trips.

These things are addicting. I kinda want another one...
I was toying with the idea of a tattoo when I turned 40, but couldn't think of anything that I wanted permanently etched in my skin. They did tattoo me for radiation therapy last year, but all it is is a small dot:confused3 But I AM officially tattooed:rolleyes:

Peppermint & Tranquil Nights are my favorite Teavana teas :lovestruc
Gotta try those:thumbsup2 I gotta go check the names of the ones I have now. I bought the teas that they had out for sampling, not sure of their names.

Take What you can!!!

Give nothing back:thumbsup2 Congrats Roger:goodvibes

We moved to Rio Rancho, which is just north of Albuquerque. My mom still lives there. It has really grown since we moved out there 26 years ago.

DH moved around a lot as a kid (dad was in the military), but they eventually settled in Alamogordo. I think his dad wound up working for White Sands.

We met in college in Las Cruces (NMSU). (DH got his bachelor's degree from NM Tech in Socorro.) I really miss NM...the mountains, the mexican food :thumbsup2 , the low humidity, the absence of potential hurricanes! :scared1:

We've taken the kids back to visit my mom a couple times. There are some neat things to do back there. Can you believe in the 10 years I lived there I never made it to Carlsbad Caverns? That is on my list of places to take the kids one day.

Kim

Wow! My best friend and Uncle live in Rio Rancho.
I miss NM too. It was a great place to grow up.
We went to Roswell last a couple of years ago for my Grandmothers funeral. We took a side track to Carlsbad caverns. It was a blast and the girls loved it!

Funny thing is our prices are a little cheaper than when we first booked. About $30 cheaper on Delta and about $70 cheaper on Continental - Go Figure.

This is why we fly Southwest. If prices go down, we can rebook at the lower price and use the excess for a future flight. We watch the daily "ding" to see if those prices fall and rebook immediately. You have up to 12 months to book a flight with the credit. For us, that's no problem as we're heading to WDW at least annually (well except this year but we are at least stopping at DTD before flying back). Plus, they allow two bags to be checked (at least for now). I think I'll be printing off their policy tonight!

Gone with the wind
Last night DH & I went to London to watch the forst preview of the above musical. An epic book, epic film & a 3hr45 musical!!!!!! It started at 7.30 pm & we finally left the theatre at 11.40pm - luckily we were not relying on public transport to get us home. ....

...........

Celestine

I love live Theater but, I don't think I could sit through that! By 10pm Dh would be wispering *I'm leaving.* ;)

But on the plus side, the fish extender that we ordered off eBay came today, and it looks cute. Much better than Linda and I could have made.
Who did you order from? I got mine from GradysMom. Really nice too. Shocked by how fast it came too.

If you have anything you need to apologize for, check out this site:

http://www.bureauofcommunication.com/compose/apology

You can fill it in and they will email your "apology" to the person who needs to receive it . . .

I like the "evil twin" excuse best . . .
:lmao: Thanks Julie :thumbsup2 My spouse needs this. He has the hardest time admitting when he is wrong. He came up to me on Thursday and tells me something, ending with mumbled statement of "you were right that appointment was tomorrow" and walks away. I was shocked and said "wait, what was the last part...:scared1: " He eventually went to the front door and yelled to the neighborhood that his wife was right and he was wrong:rolleyes: Of course nobody was out at the time, so I told him it didn't count:rotfl: This official notice may make it easier for him:confused3

Hey all....thanks for the pixie dust and prayers. Talked with my prinicpal today about missing teacher work week. She was cool about it and knows i can handle it so all went well.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Still no Mickey Mail for us either.
Glad that worked out for you:goodvibes No Mickey Mail for us yet either:sad2:

I feel pretty
Oh so pretty
I feel pretty and witty and gay
And I pity
Any girl who isn't me today... :rotfl2:
One of my favorite movies/plays:cloud9:

I'm going to buy "Mistaken Identity" because there was an episode on Oprah the other day about this & it was quite an interesting story. I kept wanting to know more, but of course they keep you wanting more so you'll buy the book!

"Meet Laura Van Ryn and Whitney Cerak: one buried under the wrong name, one in a coma and being cared for by the wrong family."
OMG, I remember when that news story came out:eek: So sad, how is the girl that survived:confused3

Yesterday on chat, someone posted a link to the MAY Repo page.

They had a cool ship map with DIS Member cabin highlighted - you could click on the cabin and a box popped up with the member's info. Anyone more computer literate know if we can do that? Obviously, once the majority of us are not GTY. :rotfl2:

That does sound cool. My DW knows how to do it, but I know she doesn't have the time (she's working on her PhD and 3 adjunct professor positions). I'd be happy to see if she can give me pointers to do it if noone else knows.
that does sound very cool and would help with fish extender delivery too:thumbsup2 I wouldn't know how to do something like that though, sounds like a big job:confused3

Kevin and I decided that we're going to forego the sightseeing on the 16th and do DL instead. :cool1: Coral has graciously offered to not only let us park our car at her place while we're gone, but also drive :drive: us to the airport when we get there. And we were able to cancel our DCL Transfers to MCO because she suggested we ride with her and her family in their rental van!!! This will allow us a few extra bucks so that we can actually "afford" to go to DL with you guys.

I think I'll call her our Special Angel.
That's great:goodvibes You guys will have fun traveling together too:thumbsup2 I agree, Nice to have a special angel ;)

C,

They should be directly addressed to you..(not to a TA). Our ressie is through a TA but my package came direct from DCL.

Mine came through my TA. DCL does have my address so, I don't know why it came to my TA.

.
:rotfl: :rotfl: I did scare Tom when I came running up to him of not unlike the scare I put into Andrew ontop the Leaning Tower last Aug. Come to think of it maybe that is my forte scaring the heevy jeebies out of people. :rotfl:

Too funny!!! I'm glad your dd had a great 15th b-day!

Who did you order from? I got mine from GradysMom. Really nice too. Shocked by how fast it came too.

That's who we got it from too. I really like it too.

Also got some fish extender gifts to give out. Come on August!

We met in college in Las Cruces (NMSU). (DH got his bachelor's degree from NM Tech in Socorro.) I really miss NM...the mountains, the mexican food :thumbsup2 , the low humidity, the absence of potential hurricanes! :scared1:

Kim

Kim, I just noticed that you are in TX........ Are you in the DFW area?

We went to Carlsbad Caverns about 8 yrs ago -- we went to NM/AZ via El Paso.

I particularly like how adept DCL is at restating your question in their answer without providing an answer.

When I was reading your post (reply form DCL) I thought that was rather clever -- it pretty much read *yes, you will need to wear clothes every night. We just don't know what kind.* We really already know that!

She's seems to have a bit of a cognitive delay, but otherwise she appeared to be doing very well.

Awesome book, buy it! I bought it Friday and I am almost done with it, it's hard to put it down, but life calls.:guilty:

I also got the new Julie Andrew biography, thought I would take it on the cruise but not sure I can wait that long.

Who was collecting names for the Doubletree to see about a group rate?

I am a TA, not with DU, and haven't gotten mine yet either I was told they are going in batches and are getting mailed twice a week, Wednesday and Fridays
Thanks so much:yay: Hoping to be in the next batch:woohoo:

Good morning everyone. We're crazy busy around here now that baseball has started.

Darren was so gloomy today because the rain canceled the ball games. He's a little league umpire and lives for these games.
