Happy Friday everyone!

It has been crazy this week..I miss you all!!!

Had a field trip this week with kindergarteners.....2 of the little ladies banged into each other..one was a-ok..the other...nose bleed from h***!!!!Like a faucet! Thank heavens I ALWAYS have tissues with me(allergies-more on that later!) -I was calm and calmed her down (my supervisors were no where in sight to help..came AFTER the fact!:confused3 )

Haven't been sleeping well feeling yucky..why...we have a HUGE bunch O'daffodils in the house! Horrible allergic to them! Things are looking up..mother realised I was allergic and gave them away today after 3 days! (she said she totally forgot...Yes I could have said something but we were two ships in the night!)

Got a call from my bridal shop to get remeasured for my dress...after all the inches I lost!:lmao: Ok that is NONE:headache: I need to lose 3-6 inches to knock off $300 from my dress by the end of April (I was supposed to lose starting back in November)Yeah that will happen!

Hopefully I will make it to chat!

OH ladies save a chair for me in the stingray lookout area!

Chrissie

Ah Chrissie so sorry about the allergies! I can totally relate to the weight loss thing! :sad2:

And I will definitely save a seat for ya! I told my DH that some of us were going to keep watch for stingrays so he says we should call ourselves the Raywatch girls!

Wanted to say hi and introduce ourselves as we'll be sailing with you all in August. We consist of myself, DH, DS (10), DD (8), DD (turning 4 on 9/1, debarkation day!) and DS (1). We have been booked since day one, and I can't believe this trip is almost here! We haven't even told the kids yet about the cruise...we'll be surprising them on Easter!

We'll be flying to LA on Aug. 12 and staying at the Grand Californian for 5 nights (gotta love those DVC points!). Haven't booked airfare home yet...still waiting for SW to open up their flights.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you in the coming months.

Kim

ooops, my bad...

Ah maybe I should've worded that as "We don't ALWAYS make fun of people!" :rotfl2:

Allergies are really giving me H*** tonight! :headache:

So sorry!

yea Diane !!

Hey thanks! And true to my word, I did finish up the main body of my thesis & sent it along to the professor. I told him I would have the conclusion to him by Monday sometime so I am under the gun. Which is a good thing!

After I worked on my paper I went to the mall with the fam, ate at the food court & bought us all Easter outfits since we will be having dinner out Sunday.

Now I am relaxing with a well deserved glass of wine if I do say so myself! :goodvibes

Great to have you aboard! What part of Texas are you from? I am in a N. Dallas suburb.

Hi everyone,
Looks like I was a little late into chat....I usually remember when I sit down to the computer at night to do some work, but tonight I guess it was later than usual. Sorry I missed everyone.

We are really happy this weekend since the coming week is spring breakfor our schools! It's actually starting to warm up here a little as well....starting to feel like spring!

Hi Kim!
We will be traveling with our 4 kids too, but they are a little older than yours. Are you in connecting rooms or rooms across the hall from each other? We will also be arriving into LA on the 12th and although we were planning to stay at the Grand Californian or the Disneyland Hotel, we will be staying offsite across the street. Maybe we will see you at Disneyland!!

how funny would it be if we all got on the cruise & felt too shy to talk face to face?

Lisa - Don't worry - I too was a bit nervous at the meet - that lasted for .....um....let me see - 2 seconds. Todd is hilarious and has a wonderful gift of making people laugh. Everyone else was fantastic too - Monica, Chris, Sarangel, AndyR and Family - if we can get along famously after a few minutes - we will be fine! Sides - we will have Stace to keep us in stitches too! :wave2: Stace - hope your stint as a tour guide is going well!

I booked a category 4 on the Eastbound Repo today!!! I am so excited to be joining you all....

There were 4's & 5's available for a bit today but they seem to be gone now.

~Ingrid

Hi Ingrid! :welcome: aboard this merry :boat: of marauding pirate: . Jump in and join the fun! Your in for the ride of your life!

I was thinking that too:lmao:
But then I figure as soon as someone insists that "they're innocent" or asks "where's the rum" or says "take what you can" that we''ll be able to laugh:confused3 At least I hope:rolleyes:

Just don't ride POC with the CPT else that all-seeing voice comes on overhead and we will be properly chastised! ( :lmao: yeah right - who are we kidding! ;) )

And don't forget - "DOES ANYONE HAVE A .......PEANUT? "

Yes, not to be confused with lap lap lap lap or apple apple apple apple....

lap lap lap, is that the mating call of the north american go-go bar patron?

so may I assume that dance, dance, dance is the answer to the North American Go-Go Bar patron?

Hey Laura!!!!!

Since talking to you about the 9/1 BTB - I think I'll keep my ressie!! Will it be you & Steve? I think it will only be me - seems like everyone else has to go back home. I hope we can convince Monica to go - and I sure wish Pam was joining us!

You know at our mini-meet you, Monica, Todd & I had already met on the repo - so it was more a reunion - what was so Great was how Roger, Andy-Susan, Sara-Mike and all of us ALSO seemed as if we were old friends!!!!

/
With all the interest in the Olympus I went & got one too... Should we have an Olympus meet on board?:goodvibes

Penny

With my luck - these cameras are the only ones that seem to survive my falls/droppings. GEEZ - that sounds funny - Laura has droppings! :lmao:

I totally agree with this. As evidenced this week, everyone who met my son this weekend was shocked to find out what happened with his suspension at school. No one in my family other than my parents have seen his rages. They hear my telling of the stories and know he's in treatment, but they can't quite comprehend it all. The kid they see is sweet, polite, caring, and intelligent.

Stay strong Kristina. It may not seem like it, but you will get through this.

Kristina & Monica - hang in there ladies! My oldest - (did not get to go on the MED TOAL which actually worked out much better for us - everyone got along!) because he thought he was all that and his carp didn't stink. He was a stormy kid but basically did most of everything that was asked of him. Now, that he's considered a legal adult - I find that its much, much harder to get him to behave. He has fits of rages that just scare the whole household and the only one that seems to be able to talk him down is me. Its scary because he's like 6'2" and I'm all of 5'4". DH is 6' but 2 big males in the household does not make for a good scenario when their testosterone levels flare up. However, the good thing is that he seems to be comprehending that his behavior is not good at a faster and faster mode. IOW, he does not take days and weeks to apologize. Right now it ranges from hours to a couple of days. So I see that as a hopeful sign he's "growing up."

He toes the line right up to the last possible moment and then does something to totally blow me away. I don't know if it any worse or what. At least with them being minors you still have a semblance of control over them. I keep telling myself - as long as he's not doing drugs or stealing I have to give him that. Its hard - many times I wanted to just give up and cry but then along he comes wanting to talk and share a smile and I forget all about the troubles. I have a standing joke with the girls - Andrew - my DS was 1 month premature due to my having pre-eclemsia (spelling??) with him. I was hospitalized for 2 weeks until I hit 35 weeks and then induced. I joke with the girls anytime he's in a joking mood that he and I were already fighting with each other even back then AND THAT THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MY FIRST CLUE! :headache: That should have been my fair warning - all I can do is shake my head and say - God certainly has a sense of humor.

Thanks Tom! :thumbsup2 From what I understand the Charter school meeting went well tonight. Many of our present teachers attended and were ready to get on board. Lets hope this works out. We (including the kids) have been way to stressed out about this for the last couple of months.

Oh Roger! So sorry to hear that! Sending out :pixiedust: that things have a bright solution soon!

Good Morning Pirates. Sorry I've been off, but real life hit hard. Finally all caught up again.
:bday: to all I've missed.
:welcome: to all I've missed.
pixiedust: to all who need it.
It looks like everyone had a great time at the mini meet this past weekend. Love all of the pictures.
I really can not wait to join in on the fun on the ship.
*** :offtopic: Forewarning Rambling On :offtopic: ***
I don't mean to ramble but I do need to get things off my mind as to what has been happening in life lately.
DS (soon to be 15) (if he makes it) has been getting into trouble in school and at home, he may not be going on this cruise, he has less than 2 months from now to straighten his mess out.
FIL had passed away earlier this month, and now we need to take care of MIL, which she does not get around too good. DH and I hate to even leave her alone while we go to work, we have been looking for nurses to help out but nothing has come out as of yet, the nurses only come for about 2 hours a day, which would be okay, but then what do you do for the other 6 hours until DH or myself gets home. My MIL has fallen quite a few times and can not get up by herself. She refuses to use that alert button that we have tried to get for her. BIL is no help and neither is any other family members that live in the area. You would think that at times like this, they should want to help, without thinking what can I get in return. It just makes me :furious:
With all of this DH didn't really have a nice birthday, so I have to make it up to him.
Okay I think I'm done rambling for now.

I will look into the tastings on the website, maybe whomever is in charge of that task force, you can probably add 2 lushes to your list. I will send a PM as soon as I figure who I need to send to.
Bye for now, I will try to post more often.

Margaret - Don't worry about ranting - its what we are here for! Hope things look up for you soon and sending lots of pixiedust: your way along with some :tinker: for you!

I know - it was so great! ROTL - ok - funny story here - Steve asked me on the way home - "So - how do you like that lady Chris?"

I told him that I really liked you. You seemed really strong and I liked that. He said -oh - to which I asked him - why? He said oh - I just thought you wouldn't like her that's all. This got me curious because its so rare for him to voice something like that - I prodded him some more and he said - well, she looks like my mom. I stopped all of a sudden and realized he's right. :rotfl: (MIL and I "don't see eye-to-eye" - her words - not mine) and I just laughed - then he shocked me by saying - but when she opened her mouth - meaning you - she didn't say anything stupid like my mom would have!

Well, I had to laugh at this - because bottom line - she does have a knack for doing this to me - . But being the good, catholic, obedient (:lmao: :rotfl2: ) DIL - I just keep mum - (her day is coming!) but you - I like you! :thumbsup2 And your much prettier than she is - so I'll substitute you for my MIL if that's ok with you! ;)

Good thinking on the Double Dip - I think its going to be a blast. This will be the first time that we're going to go to Nassau in about 6-7 years I think. Its been that long - or whenever they opened up the Western itinerary - So I'm looking forward to it - and now that DH learned they have poker tournaments at Paradise Hotel in Nassau - he wants to go back there again. I missed it the first time - I went dolphin swimming with the kids while he went with his dad.

:woohoo: - we'll have to work on Monica together - I still like your idea - although - you may want some solo time after being with the whole family for 15 days! I was trying to send DH home but he was having no part of it! ;)

Crash!!!! we need visual here

I forgot she was going. We will be with you waving as well.

Hey maybe this time - if you go to the same spot - I have that big 400 lens - I can look you up - we should coordinate! :rotfl2:

Tag Fairy has not been here in nearly a year. Only way that anyone has gotten one recently is not on this thread but elsewhere. Some of us deserving folks still do not have a tag.

Alright - again I repeat - who P.O.'d the tag fairy? UH AH! :sad2: I am NOT taking the blame for this one! ;)

Welcome aboard as well. :cool1: Even though we booked our rooms on January 31, 2007, I have only recently starting reading and joining in on the conversation of this thread. For me, it was easier just to watch the last bit of Thread #3 instead of attempting to go back and read all 200 plus pages. Once Thread #4 started, I knew I could stay caught up. There's still some things that go on here that confuse me -- mainly the pirate smilely. pirate: But it doesn't take that long and it's a lot more friendly than the main board!

Hear that Tag Fairy? We be a friendly type of maraudering pirate: around here! Please take pity on us and :tinker: spread your love around here - and the WB PC too? We :lovestruc you! And the joy you spread makes us all :goodvibes inside! ANd if all else fails - will a bribe work? :cutie:

Christopher,

Once you meet the capt (aka Todd) and some of the rest of us in action, you'll have no problem understanding the pirate: .

Kristina

Christopher - please just make sure you have peanuts and not crabs when you see the CPT ok? :rotfl2: OH and the standard reply is: GIVE NOTHING BACK! :thumbsup2

ok way back on page 166 here - be back in a while! Missed chat tonight so have to ketchup here.

That's so funny because I have been thinking of deleting mine, too. I never liked it -- it seemed like it was making fun of me more than anything, and while I know that is sport around here, it requires explaining everywhere else on the DIS and since I've been posting over in the DLRP section lately, it seemed odd.

But I like being part of the cool crowd for once in my life and having a tag, so I have been hesitating.

Maybe we need a 'tag ripping' party.

As opposed to just a plain ol' "RIPPING" party - that is? ;)

I agree with whomever stated that we haven't been visited lately - I got the last two on my Med cruise thread. That was the last I'd seen of the :tink: fairy.

M never know, we may all be staring at those fish swimming until you get back. :confused3

You mean these: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish:

only to sign off and get some more:

:fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish:

I am SO sorry I remind you of your MIL (given the (un)relationship) - I PROMISE to be fun. Both Lori & SIL Christopher will vouch for me - he & I have even traveled together to Boston when Paul & Lori couldn't go.
Acutally, Lori insists that I go on the BTB or DD - she maintains that I deserve some solo time. I won't argue!!!

Please. If I was going to be killed for talking back to my wife, it would have happened long before now.

Oh, hi honey, what are you up to, with that knif---czxk ncZ N Vnzx, vccccccccccccccccccc x,nvkdlsss\

20,000 :cake: under the sea?

Naw not so good - they'll be soggy then.

:sad2: I don't know - I 'm not very good at this. Give me a minute!

I just got this email from our church.

We are offering an Easter service on Saturday evening, March 22 at 5 p.m. in the Sanctuary. It is identical to the Easter morning services. We encourage you to attend Saturday evening to help make space for all the visitors on Easter morning. We celebrate Easter morning with three identical services in the Sanctuary. Each service will include the choir, orchestra and the Reign Band. Or you may choose to worship in the relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere of the Ministry Center. This laid-back setup includes tables and chairs and snacks to occupy the little ones. The service will be video simulcast from the Sanctuary.

If possible, please attend the 5 p.m. Saturday or 8 a.m. Sunday services, allowing space for guests at the later services.

Don't forget to park at Marcus!

Now, this set wrong with me. I am all for encouraging visitors but to tell you devoted (and consistently contributing) members to come to the Easter service on Sat pm to make room for visitors I think is tacky. Also, you members should not park in the church parking lot but instead park in the high school a couple blocks away. :confused3
Nothing says Easter like dressing up in your finest and going to church- on Saturday evening!!! :sad2:
Although it would be significantly less hectic on Sunday am (we still do the ole Easter Egg hunt) and we would have a better time trying to find a table at our brunch place- it still is not appealling.
We are going to be rebels and go at our regular time and sit in the same pew we have for that last 11 years.

This is a good way to look at it, Monica. My dad always gets really bent out of shape about having to stand through Mass on Christmas and Easter if he doesn't get there 45 minutes before Mass will begin. He gets aggrivated that there are so many people that only attend on those 2 days, and doesn't think they deserve a seat. I always tell him "Well Dad, at least they are coming on those days!"

Yeah - DD got all bent out of shape because I threatened NOT to go to Church - after all - they only truly require one time a year - at least that is what Father Tim told us - although they prefer Easter - I've already surpassed that quota this year - I'm doing good! :thumbsup2

I agree that we should make room but the car hassles, parking and those hawkers in front of the church! :scared1: Makes me want to pull a Jesus in the Temple so its best I stay away at these times. But she's not having any part of it. She was aiming to have me go on Friday but I said last week and this Sunday is good for me. (Gosh - I'm going to burn in heck for this aren't I?)

:rotfl2:

Guys and girls its Easter, I am avoiding Easter Eggs, I am on a diet and all I see is :-

CAKE

:sad1: :scared: :cake:

Had to go away for a while as there is too much cake :cake: :cake: talk going on!!!!:upsidedow

:cake: is good Andrew but I still prefer tarts! ;) :lmao: Seriously - I prefer the apple tart DCL serves - but they only serve it once on the trip! :sad2:

Kim - be sure to let us know how the kids took the surprise!

OH! And :welcome: aboard! :welcome: :welcome: :welcome:

I did the same thing. I was posting incognito until after we booked & I was sure the cruise was sold out.

That sounds like something I would do! :rotfl2:

I am SO sorry I remind you of your MIL (given the (un)relationship) - I PROMISE to be fun. Both Lori & SIL Christopher will vouch for me - he & I have even traveled together to Boston when Paul & Lori couldn't go.

Nope - don't apologize - she is a very good grandma - so I keep telling myself but she is allergic to strong women! :lmao: You - I just plain like you! Your fun! :thumbsup2

Anyone who crosses the Atlantic Ocean on her own is grade-A in my book! :cutie:

OH Oh! I got one - how about:

Peace, Love and :cake: are yours!

OR:

Chip off the old :cake: ?

Ok finally caught up and everyone is asleep. Oh well, off I go to wander.

Travel channel is doing a stint on Europe - Samantha Brown and Barcelona! Many happy memories! AAHHHH! :goodvibes

I'm not sure if it was "officially" announced yet, somebody else might know. I was going to wait till I booked to join the thread, because I wasn't even sure we could afford it (still not) but the thread kept growing & growing.

Glad you came back...you fit right in with this pirate crew! pirate:

And I thought about it & realized you might be asking what it means to get a pirate pirate:? If that's the case it just means that if you post when the post number ends in 000 you won the pirate:! Not that you win anything but there is a contest between the pirates & wenches to see who can get the most pirates. It's just a game that was started on another cruise thread that others here were a part of & that game was continued on this one.
We used to post a lot of nonsense (or what we call fluff) just to get to the pirate:, but the thread (s) were already big enough so now we're above all that! Ya right! ;)

And... I've been completely INNOCENT of all that FLuff and pirate sprinting since I've siezed so FEW of the "prizes". I just sneak around a lot...
