My DS is same way, he always has gotten along better with kids younger than him. I am worried about my son wanting to hang out in the club - I am hoping he will go and have some fun with kids his age. Last year when he was in the lab he hated it even though he could sign himself out, he is so independent. We are hoping to do the meet at Fantasmic (whatever night was planned, can't remember now) and maybe we can get some of them to meet each other then. Maybe familiar faces will help them.

My DS will be 13 right after the cruise (Sep 6). So glad to see more boys in that age range. The majority of the kids seem to be girls.

We're travelling with all boys, their ages at time of TOAL will be 13, 12, 11 and 9. And someday, I'll get my act together and get our bio and photos onto the website :rolleyes1

Great to see all of the boys -- it will remind me of our neighborhood which tends to be mostly boys. My kids will be happy. My 10 year old makes friends quite easily, although my 13 year old is a little shy so we'll definitely try to make it to the Fantasmic Meet! Are there more details somewhere about it?

Same guy who named your streets must have been out drinking with the guy who named our streets. The bank I used to work at was at the intersection of Ho and Hum Drives. :confused3

This guy had to be drinking or maybe peyote:confused3 . I like Elbow Bend. And he sounds like an optimist except for the Bloody Basin one.

Our oldest DS (then 11) was the same way on our last cruise until we told the counselor about his shyness. They helped him make a couple of friends with other kids with similar interests and he enjoyed the lab a lot more, especially the nights they were up on the sports deck or got to visit the stack. He still checked himself out a lot to hang out with his younger brother or go to Ocean Quest.

I read on the main board that we could only change him from the teen club to the lab or vice versa one time during the cruise. For that reason, we were hoping to start him out in the teen club and make sure he goes the first night. If he finds that he doesn't like it, we'll switch him to the lab. We've already told him that the first time he says he's bored, he's grounded to the room!:)

Saturday night. Julie and I will be camped out, holding on to as much space as we can.

We will be there....that's the plan, anyway.....

I have a ds who will be 13 this July. He's also pretty shy at first, but once he gets comfortable, he's much better. He tells me he does want to go to the teen club, but we'll see. I'm worried he'll be too young for that crowd. He is also very small for his age, so that makes him seem even younger. On our last cruise, he met a couple of kids that he chummed around with, and they had fun going to movies, pin trading, swimming, arcade, and Ocean Quest. He didn't care for the lab at the time, and now he's too old for it anyway. Even still, there's plenty of options for them.

Deanna,
My DS is 14, but also very short for his age. The teasing is starting to get to him:sad2: I was a bit worried about the teen club for him for this reason. It's good to know he'll have company. I'm expecting he'll hang out with the 13 year old crowd:cool2:

Happy Birthday to my DW and thanks from her

Hey kids! Afternoon! Hope evryone is doing OK. I ended up at the doctor's office yesterday, wasn't sure if i was coming down with strep. I now know it's a sinsus infection. My doctor didn't even look at my throat and wrote me a prescription! Felt nasty last night but doing better today.

What is it with all these political sex scandals? :confused3

I took Julianna to the Doc today. Got in at 11:45AM and filled a script for Zithromax... and abruptly found it was the nmedication which Julianna detested intensely. SO I went back to the doc for another script for Omnicef. This is the one it seems that she likes. SO - I'm told by the Doc that she was getting out of her inital fever and on Sunday probably got a secondary infection... which is beginning to show signs of becoming pneumonia as she hears a little accumulation beginning in the left lung lobe. So - with the Ominicef she should gain control over the fever in short order. Once J is free of a fever for 24 hours we'll let her return to school. The cough however should get worse before it gets better.

However - of greater interest - I redeemed 2 competitive coupons when filling the two prescriptions - and got 2 cash cards from the Ralphs' supermarket pharmacy for the 2 perscriptions! The co-pay was $10 but we got $30 back for each! So we saved $40 net!

And as for all these sex scandals - I dunno - I'd address Tom31 as he's the one who's ultimately in charge and acountable here. Right? :confused3 Me, I'm just the INNOCENT one... :surfweb:

Yes, we are just down the hall in 6524 and 6526. With the five of us, we had to either get two Cat 8 rooms or a single Cat 4 for a little more. I have to admit, we will enjoy having the extra space in the two Cat 8's for 15 days! Our DS also turns 13 this summer -- in June. We're nervous about putting him in the teen club as he's one of the oldest in his class and so generally hangs out with kids younger than himself. We also have a DS who will be close to 11 on the cruise and a 6 year old DS who's our handful. Although we're staying at HOJOs from the 13th to 17th, we will be driving down to Legoland one day as all three of our boys' favorite toys are legos. My middle child even said he would rather go to legoland than Disneyland :confused3 (I'm not sure he's really ours!:lmao:).

We'll be at HoJos on the 15th & 16th. Unfortunately, I think we'll only get to do DL on the 16th.

Where's Andrew?? Now is when I need my "closest" DIS friends to BAN me from the Main Boards.

For some reason, I just have a bee in my bonnet. I want to start a thread that says in great BIG LETTERS.....

IT'S NOT PALO'S....IT'S PALO !!!

Just having one of those days, I guess. Some days my AR/OCD gets the best of me.

That & all the engines are broken on both the ships & there won't be any stabilization & we'll all be barfing the entire cruise.

Or Lemon Merangue Pie...

Sorry to hear of all those who are sick - Get Better Soon!

Crash, I hope the Dr. has something useful to say besides, "yep, she's sure sick." I hate it when they do that.

How funny... that's more or less what our doc summarily said. Of course, I was really there to get a perscription - and to check that something much worse was not developing. Which was hinted at with the emerging pneumonia.

However, yeah... she declared "Yup, shes' sick alright" ... :confused3
