Andrew..... I just ran out of time to post on the other threads. We will keep you busy enough here!!!! I hope we will continue the thread long after the cruise ends. So don't say you will be quitting after the cruise.

Are you bragging again Roger??? We are getting lake affect snow and we live 4o miles away!!! We have not seen grass since the end of January!!!

Guess I misssed a good rant in chat.

I got fed-up- getting my passports and one of the officials gave me a hint. I was waiting for 14 weeks when she said I should tell the Passport office I already cancelled a trip and I need my passports immediately!!!! I found out they were in a office still closed because I told the truth and said I needed them for August of 2008. I sent in for them of April 2007 and finally did not receive the passports til end of July. I got my passports in 3 Days and the government ended up sending them overnight!!! Try it....what do you have to lose??

That's okay,I got carded at Wally World yesterday buying a bottle of Boonesfarm for my boss(she's never heard of it).

I love that Boonesfarm!!! Brings back lots of flashbacks!!!

Well it is still snowing and the whole area is closed down. We have about a foot of snow now and it is still coming down. This is the view from my back door.

This my DD's car parked in the driveway. They called her to tell her not to come in to work (she works retail).

Sorry for you but happy for us!!! We are still getting a little snow from lake affect but I have not seen my grass since Januuary!!!

Oh my Gosh - I have fond memories too - the first time I ever had one sip of alcohol was Strawberry Hill - drank the whole bottle at age 16. It was very yummy going down but when it came back up........... I haven't touched it since.

Okay here is the update on my foot. The doctor I seen today was very upset with how the ortho guy treated me. He looked at the xrays and again sees nothing broken. He is sending me to another orthopedic who deals with sports injuries because he really believes that its tendonitus which can cause great pain if not treated. the fact the the cortisone is working and the swelling is subsiding makes him think that there are not tears in the soft tissue. So, on monday I will call yet another dr. Hopefully by then I will be able to walk on my foot again.

Glad you got another opinion. Sometimes Doctors have closed ears when you are trying to tell them your problem. Let us know what happens!!!

All this passport talk.....we've had passports for years and years because it's just always made our foreign travel easier....but with all the talk, I bet I've checked mine 4 or 5 times, just to make sure that they aren't anywhere near their expiration date. Like I'm going to look at them in March and they're still good for August...but then I'll still look at them again in April, May, June....as if somehow the date is going to change!

You guys have me paranoid!

Do we have any specific plans, other than dinner at the Blue Bayou? Times? Places? Headcount?

Just checking, since I haven't seen anything here or on the planning boards about it.

We'll be there from 3/15 to 3/17. Looking forward to meeting folks.

No real specific plans. That's why we have cell numbers. Many of us are arriving Friday and may hook up some time that day. Just give one of us a call when you arrive. We may or may not be with a larger group. I know Chris and family are not arriving until Blue Bayou.

Looking forward to meeting you. Kind of strange that we're just across the bay from each other but not meeting until we're down in LA. That's the way I met Chris too.

I know that Monica, Stacey, Todd and Andy will all be there on Friday through Sunday. Chris and Laura will be showing up Saturday afternoon and joining us for dinner. The girls and I will be driving down early Saturday morning and arriving around 8-9am. I think that those of use there early on Saturday should contact each other so we could spend the day together. Disneyland will be opening at 8am that day so anyone staying at a DLR hotel can get in at 7am.

Disneyland refurbishment closures are Small World and King Arthur's Carousel.

Rain?? UGH. Well, maybe it will keep the crowds away. I've never had that luck though. We've been there when it's pouring and expected everyone to wimp out, but they all stayed!! This has happened to us about 3 times. We have never been able to experience the empty park in the rain.


So if we all meet up Sat morning, we can be one of those annoying large groups that stop in the middle of the walkway and debate where to go next? And is someone going to carry one of the light up swords so we can see where the group is going??

Hey Cheryl I was trying to start my imitation of Liz with the local weather report. I know that we alot of people coming in from out of town this next weekend who gots to know what it is like. And for all of my snow bound buddies I thought you would like to think about what is instore for you in just 5 short months.

I guess I didn't tell anyone here I resigned my position with Transportation Security Administration on the 3rd of February to return to corporate security, which is less stressful and better paid. I was a Transportation Security Officer at Oakland International Airport. So this makes me a Former member of the Department of Homeland Security.


And I don't hate sausages in fact I love sausages.

Forgot to mention, we bought 2 of the Olympus cameras today. Well actually I bought one yesterday at the local Staples and got it home, charged up the battery and took a few pictures. The 1st picture I always take with a new camera is of the person who is getting the camera- supposed to be good luck.
Well Bill was looking at the camera and I was telling him about taking the 1st picture of the girls and he laughs and says "I don't think so". I go over and look and sure enough there are pictures of some woman in the Staples store- on my new camera! So.. no way I am keeping it. No telling if it was a return of what.
We took it back to the store and they did not have any more so we ordered 2 of them online. Should have on Tuesday. Free shipping so why not?
Also, I got a "free" printer too with it. The printer was $100.00 so with the rebates I got the camera and printer for $200.00. Pretty good deal for me.

ok - dd just called all excited. Seems that her brother told her he'd only go out to dinner with us when she breaks 1:10 in the 400. This is her first year at St Paul and 1st year of track. IN FACT, this is her first year EVER in sports - she called all giddy -seems on the 4X400 Relay team - her time was clocked as 68 seconds. She has only run it 3 times - those were 1:18 and 1:19 seconds.

Now there is no living with that girl - did I mention she is ultra-competitive? Now she's holding DS to his end of the bargain. This I will have to see.

Anyway, here I go dragging this carcass down to the school - has anyone invented the driver's port-a-potty yet? I'm still feeling a bit around the edges but not as bad - must have been me laying off the housework- still takes time to recover.

Oh that - and I wanted to try something - well see who's the first to get it!

They made silencers. And the school "resource officer" is a City of Scottsdale police officer. She took them to impound and we're told they're going to be "disposed of" properly.
No one told us or the science teacher that it's illegal to make them w/o some kind of government permit. Oops.
But they did earn a gold ribbon at the school's science fair and are now entered in the city science fair.

DH told them to make a still next year. Troublemaker. ​

Coral, I don't know if you going to be able to squeeze this in. From what I have read our excursion could take around 4 hours. If we leave at noon we won't get back until 4pm. That is excluding extra time at the bar in the rain forest tasting tequila.

As for the DELL XPS... the configurations for that line vary from $999 through $3700 for standard configuations. Which one were you leaning towards?

Torn between the RED ($1149) or the one that is $1199. Will be playing with the numbers as I upgrade the Hard Drive and possibly memory. Then add the docking station.

I acutally came into the office today to work on a project and now trying to get caught up on the thread. Next is to renew my consumer reports subscription and try to make a choice on the laptop.
