Forgot to mention, we bought 2 of the Olympus cameras today. Well actually I bought one yesterday at the local Staples and got it home, charged up the battery and took a few pictures. The 1st picture I always take with a new camera is of the person who is getting the camera- supposed to be good luck.;)
Well Bill was looking at the camera and I was telling him about taking the 1st picture of the girls and he laughs and says "I don't think so". I go over and look and sure enough there are pictures of some woman in the Staples store- on my new camera! So.. no way I am keeping it. No telling if it was a return of what.
We took it back to the store and they did not have any more so we ordered 2 of them online. Should have on Tuesday. Free shipping so why not? :confused3
Also, I got a "free" printer too with it. The printer was $100.00 so with the rebates I got the camera and printer for $200.00. Pretty good deal for me.

Hi all, I just skipped 70 pages so I may have missed something important. It's been crazy busy since I checked in, I picked up a bunch of overtime this past week at work and this week looks like its going to be nuts too.

I have just packed my suitcase for our cruise around Hawaii, we leave next Saturday so anticipating a crazy work week, I thought I'd get it packed now. It has upset the furkids though, they hate the suitcase!

We are seeing the bank tomorrow about financing for buying a section of land about 40 minutes drive away - its 4.85 hectares so pretty nice lifestyle block. It doesn't have a house on it so we'll look at building potentially once we've paid the mortgage on it.

Right, better go and do some chores... or sit in the sun and read a book... tough choice :rotfl2:

I've always wanted to do a cruise around the Hawaiian islands. We went to Ohau and Maui for our honeymoon and had a blast.
Our cat Reebok used to sit on our luggage whenever we pulled it out to pack:)
Can't wait to hear what you think of the cruise.

I would assume most people's page 27 is blank - but at the bottom of the page with your photo, does it say "See Page 27" under the Endorsements line?

Yes it says see page 27 on all three of them... (must be the idiot direction to a blank page)

Morgan (on right) loves being outside.
Bailey actually got bothered by all of the snow.

Aww ...Our two dogs love the snow...Shame we've got like none this year.

There's been a couple years i've had to dig down to the back yard for Casey (our lab) when we lived back in Pennsyltucky.

Now I know that is hard core snow! We once sat through a Mass where one of the parishioners collapsed, someone called 911, the paramedics showed up, and the priest never misssed a beat or acknowledged what was going on.

M! I didn't know you were there - did you see me and my friend call 911! Wasn't it shocking? And Father Bernie never blink or twitched a muscle! :rotfl2:

:) I never miss Westminster! I have an almost 1yr old Boxer...Harley.

And his favorite place to sit....

OMG! He' just a big ol furbaby - to pirate: someone's name for theirs - sorry - can't remember who that was. I like that - mind if I borrow it? :flower3:

I suppose now with all the pictures of snow is not the time to mention that my rose bushes have their first blooms?? :duck:

Darn! I was going to say - :duck: but saw you beat me to it. And you aren't going to wear your lime green shirt? How could you?

Although I have to mention - don't know what happened to me but I woke up feeling ok - decided to "clean" - WHICH I KNOW BETTER THAN TOO - but promptly got sick. My stomach and my back have been talking and they are not being nice. I hope I don't get sick. so far this year I've been able to avoid that ugly flu, bronichitis and any other nasty bug - but now this! :scared1: Why, I even took a nap and that is definitely not like me - even the oldest asked what was wrong. I told him it was because I was cleaning. His reply - Its about time. Then suggested I get some help! No sympathy - nothing - nada - zip - zilch. :sad2: I knew I should hvae listened to myself and not started cleaning.

Well Done! I think you'll like them. I've been playing with both of mine and can't decide which one I like the best. The 790 is a bit easier to handle and view but the 770 does just a bit more and goes deeper into the water. Oh well, like I'm actually going to down past 5 feet!

What and where is the bacon scrum?

All out scramble between some of the guys for the bacon onboard ship. If you see a mad scramble at the buffet - you know who to blame! :rotfl2:

I know for a fact that i will float on top at very best. I really, really do not like water. I am a very good swimmer but I have a hard and fast rule: If I can see the bottom- and what's between me and the bottom- I ain't gettin in! :)

I alluded to this in chat last night...feel free to skip this post...

RANT WARNING

GEEZ!

We're just starting the passport renewal process. Got pics taken last weekend. Ours all expire at the end of APR08. DH and I get to do the simplified process - eg - no guarantor needed. But, for the kids we have to do the whole guarantor route again. I'm assuming it's because they want to make sure DH and I are still together and still their parents. :confused3 Pain in the b***. Luckily we can go directly to a Passport office, so I don't have to mail our id and I'm dragging DH with me.

ok - dd just called all excited. Seems that her brother told her he'd only go out to dinner with us when she breaks 1:10 in the 400. This is her first year at St Paul and 1st year of track. IN FACT, this is her first year EVER in sports - she called all giddy -seems on the 4X400 Relay team - her time was clocked as 68 seconds. She has only run it 3 times - those were 1:18 and 1:19 seconds.

Now there is no living with that girl - did I mention she is ultra-competitive? Now she's holding DS to his end of the bargain. This I will have to see.

Anyway, here I go dragging this carcass down to the school - has anyone invented the driver's port-a-potty yet? I'm still feeling a bit  around the edges but not as bad - must have been me laying off the housework- still takes time to recover.

Oh that - and I wanted to try something - well see who's the first to get it! ;)

Just got back from a nice dinner with Tom, Kristina, Kristina's DH Andy, my DH Steve and our monkeys. We probably watched the POTUS motorcade go by. We had a lovely evening.

Ok, I am getting way jealous of you DC area people meeting up all the time. I guess I will get my revenge next weekend. :cool1: And we will be taking photos and sharing them M.....

Not if we beat you to the rich foods first. Do you plan to take part in the Bacon Scrum? I believe we are printing t-shirts for the event.

You all can tear each other apart getting to the Satin Bacon but stay out of my way to the sausage, biscuits and gravy. I only partake of these banned substances during vacation.

Is anyone thinking about doing a massage at Krystal's in PV?
Everyone on CC raves about the massages and the price is definitely right.
Might be just the thing about a hard day of ziplining. :)
Not sure if timing will work or not.

Coral

Coral, I don't know if you going to be able to squeeze this in. From what I have read our excursion could take around 4 hours. If we leave at noon we won't get back until 4pm. That is excluding extra time at the bar in the rain forest tasting tequila.

Are these the 790's ? Let us know how the picture quality is. I figure as we get closer to summer new models will be coming out and the prices should drop on the 770 and 790.

No worries in Aruba. At the Antilla site there is 200ft visibility straight down. :scared1: Nothing but a sunken ship below you. We will make sure you have an extra big float vest.

You got to super proud of her Laura. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Roger - finally broke down and took another tylonol and pepto bismo - stomach held it down now dd wants to know what for dinner. For me? nothing - for her - gotta see if I can bribe someone - DH is off playing poker since I wasn't feeling well.

Mighty quiet around here isn't it??

Thanks for rubbing it in Roger. Looks like we will end up with 12-16". Alan and Adam are out plowing.

You know Paula...

... Roger was actually hinting/ admitting somethin' here... us folks in SoCal are actually quite unfortunate in that we get so little variation in the weather. I have to drive about 90 minutes to reach the nearest snow in ideal conditions... and it's 2.5 hours ONE WAY ta reach Big Bear for skiing. It was only this year that our younger onesaw snow for the first hand (otherthan from an aircraft or TV that is). And... Julianna only got to snow skiing fer the first time this year... and shes' nearly seven! WOE IS ME ... as I've lived my entire life within about 100 or so miles of where I was born... and I sometimes have been known to quip that I'd like to wake up to a }white Christmas" or see a snow fall occur outside my home one day.... or even I'd like to live through a "peaking" period. Is thst what its' called?

It may sound appealing to have near every day as moderate, sunny and so on... but after a while the notion of ANY variation is pretty appealing I tell ya. And I AM being pretty serious. I love the rain... and being in other regions - feeling the wind - cool air - heat - and smell of a foreign city with the sounds of London or Paris' hustle on the streets ... or in thier Tube or Metro stations is blissful magic to my soul. Enough so that I've almost always quipped to Alicia that we should someday come back to spend a whole summer here (or there) to see if maybe that (or elsewhere) is a good place to live for a spell... give it a chance to experience some new things. Of course, the notion rarely gets really serious ... it's mostly talk.

You see... you can drop me anywhere in SoCal and give me a place you want to go to that's previously unknown and I'd find my way quick enough. No navigation.. just memory and instinct. Or better yet .... ask me now ... and I'd maybe tell ya the way from my HOME (not needing to SEE the starting point). Anywhere in SoCal where we have people in homes and business that is... not an uninhabited region of SoCal. See.. in much of LA it seems I can describe the businesses, look and feel ... and so on of so much of SoCal... that's what happens I guess after 4+ decades of livin' in one part of the world. Or so it seems at least.

Yeah... So, I'd love to take a quarter to half of each year to live in a different place (continuiously) - almost ANY place on the planet. Paris, London, Bangkok, Phuket, India, NZ, NY, HK, Sydney, Montreal, almost anywhere in South America and Africa and shoot .. U name it and I'd like ta try it. However, as usual... for now its' idle day dreaming, eh? Ya suppose we'll have a chance to get into space for a cheap thrill within our life times? I don't quite consider the 10+ million cost of flying with the Russians to be enough of a bargain yet.... and Virgin Galactic is not quite my idea of going into scape properly. I want to ORBIT the Earth in true space. :confused3

Oh well... so much for this little spat of "Voyager" whimsy...

Um,excuse me Tom.....how do you pronounce the 4th place on your list?

Glad to see you put 'em to work. :cheer2: pirate: :cheer2:

Some of you may remember that I was all excited last spring when it looked like we would need Passports to leave Alaska (we had to drive through Canada), and the CG was going to have to get them for us. Well, the kids and I got our no-cost-to-us passports – mine came in hours before we left – BUT there was an endorsement on page 27 that made them only valid when traveling with a military member on orders.

First, I'm sorry that the government is being so difficult.

Second, my DH (who used to be AF) says that technically your DH will be traveling under orders for the TOAL - OK, so they're leave orders, but they you will still be traveling with a military member on orders. :cool2:

He says "CHPH2O = USCG"

He also says that the rules may have changed since CG is now part of DHS, and normal military rules may not apply. It might be worth asking someone in the command structure if you can do an end-run. Good luck, and we'll keep our fingers crossed.

Sounds like when DS went stair diving and sprained his neck this summer. He had gone to work sound for the service. When I got there, after the paramedics, the service was continuing on. Didn't stop at all.
