We're on Frontier and American. Anybody know of any special luggage rules with them?

Living in Frontier's hometown, I know that there's no extra fees for a second bag. YOu can check two bags up to 50 lbs each. Any extra bags are $50. It's just that Frontier tends to run about $50 to $75 extra each way on the LA and Orlando flights. Frontier will have periodic fare sales and if they are low enough, we'll fly them instead. However, I find that SW usually matches their fares and I like SW's change policy much better.

I checked American's website and their FAQ section states that you can check two bags for free up to 50 lbs.

United is the largest carrier out of Denver and they charge $25 extra for the second checked bag unless you're a Premier member of their frequent flier program. That would be an extra $250 roundtrip for our family if we max out. Plus they charge extra if you want normal legroom. I don't like United.

Good Morning Pirates. Sorry I've been off, but real life hit hard. Finally all caught up again.
:bday: to all I've missed.
:welcome: to all I've missed.
pixiedust: to all who need it.
It looks like everyone had a great time at the mini meet this past weekend. Love all of the pictures.
I really can not wait to join in on the fun on the ship.
*** :offtopic: Forewarning Rambling On :offtopic: ***
I don't mean to ramble but I do need to get things off my mind as to what has been happening in life lately.
DS (soon to be 15) (if he makes it) has been getting into trouble in school and at home, he may not be going on this cruise, he has less than 2 months from now to straighten his mess out.
FIL had passed away earlier this month, and now we need to take care of MIL, which she does not get around too good. DH and I hate to even leave her alone while we go to work, we have been looking for nurses to help out but nothing has come out as of yet, the nurses only come for about 2 hours a day, which would be okay, but then what do you do for the other 6 hours until DH or myself gets home. My MIL has fallen quite a few times and can not get up by herself. She refuses to use that alert button that we have tried to get for her. BIL is no help and neither is any other family members that live in the area. You would think that at times like this, they should want to help, without thinking what can I get in return. It just makes me :furious:
With all of this DH didn't really have a nice birthday, so I have to make it up to him.
Okay I think I'm done rambling for now.

I will look into the tastings on the website, maybe whomever is in charge of that task force, you can probably add 2 lushes to your list. I will send a PM as soon as I figure who I need to send to.
Bye for now, I will try to post more often.

:grouphug: :grouphug:

I purchased our nonstop tickets to LAX the very day they opened up. They were $217 Now 322. My DD is traveling to Chicago and her DH insists on making the reservation 14 days out as he feels this is the best time? We will see.

We bought ours the same time, $189 now almost $400!:scared1:

Happy Thursday pirate:

My thoughts are with you all that are struggling with the "parent-thing" these days. If only someone could invent a remote control that would allow us to "fast forward" through the tough times, and rewind to the good stuff, or slow down the frames when the stinkyteens aren't being stinky at all :grouphug:

We don't have school closing issues in our town ... we have "overcrowding" issues and need to build a new school. An architect has drawn up the plans, the land is available ... there just isn't any money in the budget to break ground. In the meantime, our High School stays on "warning" status with the state  DH and I have started discussions about private schooling for our boys. I'm going to put him off for a year or so ... because the school I'd prefer starts classes the last week of August, and that just wouldn't work with my schedule for this year ;)

We have a similar issue - our HS is overcrowded (only have 1 in our district) and the school board has allowed it to go with only the bare minimum in repairs and upkeep over the years. A few years ago the school board put a non refundable binder of $100,000 on a piece of property in a flood plain, put a second $100,000 a year later and then ended up dropping the whole thing when the community put up a huge fuss. We still have no resolution as to what is going to happen and I doubt that there will be one before DS graduates from there (he is in the 7th grade this year).

The good news: I get to go on a weeklong boondoggle field trip for work.

The bad news: I will be in Po-dunk, PA at midnight on May 18. :scared1:

The really bad news: DH will have to book Palo/spa

The really really bad news: His first reaction: "Not gonna happen."

Ummm, let's see....I got up at 3 am to get us on the stinkin' cruise, I've done all the research, booked all the excursions, bought the plane tickets, reserved the rental cars (all at relative bargains), I'll make arrangements for the dog, buy everyone's clothes, figure out who's wearing what to dinner each night so we are coordinated but not matchy-matchy, and pack everything except his clothing, but it is too much trouble for him to stay up one night to get us some good Palo & spa times? Hmph.

That is bad news! Even though I won't be home, I'll be in Schaumburg, IL with a wireless connection.

I just compared the priced quoted by Orbitz for my planned Delta flight was $36 cheaper on the Delta Home site versus Orbitz - plus Orbitz addds a booking fee on top of that! ... so I think this might be cheap enough for us to be satisfied. Maybe tonite we'll book it there saving about $154 in total.

Tom, that is one of Delta's new things - book flights cheaper on their site than any place else.

Thank you very much Christopher. Now maybe I won't worry so much about getting pirate costumes and fomal wear, along with our regular crud packed and on the plane. I was a bit concerned when I started reading about the box restrictions and sending things ahead to port.

I think I remember he said he wanted to be the hooker. Or did he say he wanted to get one?

$5500 an hour. (and my Freudian coincidence, "hour" was not the word I first typed -- although it has many of the same letters and could be pronounced that way)

It was really great to see that availability opened up on our cruise today and new people were able to book, it proves the ship is not over booked and that everyone with a GTY booking will get a room, and not be bumped as they wouldn't release more rooms if this was the case.

I guess we will now see more coming up from now until May the final pay up date, as some people change their minds or fail to be able to make the final cost of the cruise, or prefer to use the money on other things.

FWIW. We are GYT and inquired about cat 4 avaibility (moving from a cat 5) and the best we could do was switch with a cabin looking to move down to a cabin 4 without any firm idea of cat 5 price. As the discussions went along the TA said it was a VERY long line of folks waiting to get on the ship.

For now we've decided to stay where we are.

Ohhhhh....I :love:LOVE:love: my tag! Wonder why? ;)

Hmm, can't imagine. If I had gone with the moniker I use on some of the other boards, then maybe I could have gotten an alma mater tie in as well (although it would only be a fellow alum who would have gotten the name).

First, my names not Spitzer and b. if I could afford a $5500 per hour hooker..... Wouldn't be in a cat 10!!!

In some fit of Friday night drunken chat I may have volunteered for that there rugby game...

Satan Bacon strikes again.

No, you & the fam would be in Cat. 1, she would be in Cat. 10.

Isn't it her making $5500/hr and wouldn't that be like a Cat10/hr. :lmao: I think she could spring for a balcony at those rates.
