Conflicting info is correct.

WB is reporting that carry on booze is ok, e.g. if you want a case of wine, that's your one carry on.

The thread above says no carry on liquids at all.

Guess we will have to wait and see what happens with WB and the first few Mexican cruises.... perhaps we should convince our early cruisers to try and get bottles through?:confused3

I think that is all we can do at this point - just watch and wait (how I HATE doing that!). Hopefully we will find out that we can bring stuff with us (I've got several bottles of wine from a local vineyard that I am just dying to bring with me along with several other things that I intend on picking up in CA) and if not, hopefully we will have enough notice to plan on a bigger bar bill:scared1:.

Right now I believe it only affects Port Canaveral. They are the ones saying no more boxes. Because of the new no box policy, folks are asking a bunch of questions about carrying on. That's where the real confusion starts.

DCL does have a policy of not allowing outside drinks brought on board, but it has never been enforced. This may cause such a rucus though that DCL might start enforcing their rule. If they do, then we are in trouble.

DISCLAIMER: For those of you on the trip with us. I apologize if I got anything wrong. It is all a blur now and I can't exactly remember what was done and when.

Arrived at the Disneyland Hotel about 8:30am Friday morning. Got checked in, but the room wasn’t ready yet. Trevoy and I headed into the parks via the Monorail. Crowds were not bad and we were able to get in Space Mountain, Matterhorn, Storybookland Canal Boats, Big Thunder Mountain, and Haunted Mansion before heading to Goofy’s Kitchen for brunch at 11am.

At Goofy’s we met up with Chris (Grandma X3) and Matt. We had a great time with Pluto, Goofy, Chip, Dale, Baloo, Jasmine, Princess Aurora, Mad Hatter and Alice. I think this was the most characters we’ve ever seen there.

Got a call from Todd (DisneyVegas1) right as we were leaving so we met up with his family on Main Street. I can’t really remember what all we rode Pirates (of course), Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain, and I’m sure some others. We collected Fastpasses along the way for use later that night. Met up with Andy’s (AndyR) family briefly before they headed out for a break. Chris and Matt had to leave shortly after also.

The rest of us took a break and went back to get settled into our rooms. We met back up for dinner at Rain Forest Café and then headed back into the park. We used our Indiana Jones and Space Mountain Fastpasses. And hit some other rides as well. Called it an early night so we could open the park at 7am the next day.

On Saturday morning we lined up about 6:45am for a 7am Magic Morning. We went straight to Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. This was a first time for Todd’s family. Its nice to see the Submarine Lagoon being used again. There is a throwback to the old ride at the very end, be sure to listen to the Captain. We rode some of the Fantasyland rides then were on our way to Big Thunder Mountain when we got a call from Roger (Goofyonthehighseas). Roger and family met us at Big Thunder.

2342277730_7b40043226.jpg

We rode Pirates then took the rafts over to Pirate’s Lair. We explored the caves, heard Davy Jone’s heartbeat, and found the treasure that Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn collected. We tried to figure out how to commandeer Captain Jack Sparrow’s flag from the island but no one was willing to risk their Annual Passes.

After the island, we met up with Sara (Sarangel) and family. Shortly after, Andy’s family also joined us. We took a few pictures in front of the castle. Roger got some candids and I got some on Photopass. I’m in a share with some other DIS board members and won’t get the CD until early April. As soon as I get it I will share.

We decided to go over to California Adventure where the younger kids and some parents went to see the new Playhouse Disney show. The others went on Tower of Terror, Monster’s Inc, and California Screamin’. This was Destin (Todd’s DS) and Maddison’s (Roger’s DD) first time on this ride. Both enjoyed it. I tried to get a picture of the ride photo but there was too much glare from the sun.

We all rode Soarin’ Over California then split up. My family went to lunch with Todd’s at White Water Snacks. Trevoy had been begging to go there to get the steak nachos. The picture is what they usually look like. This trip WWS didn’t do so good. Ours only had about half as much steak as the picture. And Melissa’s were brought out cold and with chicken instead of steak. I usually have a great experience here so not sure what happened.

We were beat by now. We had been on the go since 7am so it was nap time. Later we met back up with Todd for some refreshments before heading to Blue Bayou.

Dinner was great. Others have already reported on it and I don’t really have much more to add. Except that our table kept trying to get our server to slip upstairs to Club 33 and add some RUM to our cokes, but he didn’t go for it. Actually ended up giving us the slip too. He introduced us to another server saying he was going on his break. But 5 minutes later we saw him serving other tables? We weren’t that bad were we?

We went on a group trip on Pirates after dinner. And yes, we heard the “Voice from Above” telling us to remain seated at all times. Sorry Voice, we were just trying to flip the boat to get in (or was it out) of Davy Jone’s Locker. We also did a group ride on Jungle Cruise before splitting up for the evening. I headed in about 11pm.

Sunday morning we took it easy. Met up about 8am with Todd’s family. There was another Magic Morning available, but we just couldn’t get up that early again. Todd’s boys took a turn on Autopia and we all went on Matterhorn (left side). We were able to stay on for a second ride since no one was in line. (Or was that Saturday morning?? It’s all blending together now).

I was wondering what happened to you??

G'mornin' pirate:s

You're a great friend Crash. I can't say I have any insight, but as hard as it is, let your friend talk. Let her yell, scream, make plans for 40 years from know. Let he make plans to not be around past tomorrow. I'm sure she's trying to come to terms with her situation and it is possible that she can't have these types of conversations with her spouse or other relatives.
Enjoy and honor the time you still have together.

Crash.......M put it perfectly!!!:flower3: :flower3:

Are you talking about me again!!!:lmao: :lmao: I am sure we can convince Laura to bring a bottle on the WB cruise.:rolleyes1

We rode Pirates (yes again!) and Winnie the Pooh. At Pooh, we met up with Andy and family. We decided to head to Toontown but along the way a few folks wanted to ride Big Thunder Mountain. Got a call from Sara who was going to meet us in Toontown. As we were walking through the path behind Big Thunder, we ran into the Dream Squad and got Dream Fastpasses. Too bad we hadn’t yet met up with Sara’s family. Although the Dream Squad told us we could try to talk to the folks at Guest Services and let them know that only 9 out of our 12 got the passes and we might be able to get some for the rest of the group. We just never got a chance to get over there though.

In Toontown we rode Roger Rabbit’s Cartoon Spin. I am not a fan of the ride, but went along with everyone else. Upon exiting, we played around in Toontown a little bit.

Trevoy wanted to eat at French Market. It is sort of a tradition for us to have at least 1 meal there every trip. Others headed into California Adventure or elsewhere in DL. After lunch we upgraded our parkhoppers into Premium APs. Guess we’ll be taking some more trips down this year.

Took it easy the rest of the afternoon. Wandered around CA a bit. Then got our car and headed over to HoJo so I could investigate the walk and the gift shops.

We went back over to Downtown Disney to say goodbye to Todd’s family, then it was off to the airport.

It was a great trip and just a small sampling of what TOAL will be like. I can’t wait for August to get here.

I picked up 6 sets of park maps. Anyone interested, please PM me and I'll be happy to mail them to you.

May I begin by saying I really enjoied reading everyones' responses to this series of 7 questions. Especially the Minnie who took Trevoy aside after acknowleding Monica's courageous remarks, and the countless other stories shared in detail. It was all heart warming and simply pleasant reading. Special thanks folks for sharing your happy Disney experiences.

1) What's yer favorite grog? Root Beer Floats!

2) Do you have a favorite WDW or DL ride? What is it? For me - it's that roller coaster in California Adventure - I only rode it 3x since we usually are looking after the kids and I rarely ride it. But it sure is FUN!

3) What's a fond memory that 1st pops into your mind from one of the Disney Parks? FOr me it's back in college - we would go to Disneyland with a gang of friends and we would try to ride EVERY ride in the park in a day. Never did do it... but it sure was fun trying!

4) What did you have for your most recent meal? Tonite we celebrated Julianna's 7th birthday at Bucca. It was nice an simple - a Seafood family platter (frutti-de-Mare) and chocolate cake slice.

5) What was the last thing you BOUGHT? Actually, it was the Enchanted DVD tonite.

6) Do you really know how to DANCE (and I don'tmean jumping around in wild gyrations) No - when I "dance" I'm sure somewhere near by someone is chocking from laughing so I try NOT to dance too often... < wink > truthfully, I love to "dance" with my spouse or kids...

7) Did you do any sports, clubs, extra activities in high school (year book, student congress, thespian, etc.)
I did JV Track (100 yard, 4 man relay, long jump, triple jump), Varsity Captain of the National Forensics League Team (Debate squad), Co-Founder & VP of the Wizards & Warriors gaming club (Dungeons & Dragons, +all manner of unusual games), Military History & Strategic Simulation club, and Photography. There might have been more that I'm not recallin' now - but that's most of it - I'm sure!

Need some help in the Underwater Camera department. First off - I know nothing really about cameras. I just like something to work and take a decent pic.

We have a few options.

1. Buy the cheap disposable ones - we've basically decided we are passed this level. Plus, I'm tired of developing the pics and seeing that they are mostly no good.
2. Buy a hard plastic specific housing for our current camera - Canon A75. The camera takes wonderful pics, but we'll be upgrading to a better zoom prior to the TOAL, so the camera will in a sense be excess to needs. We've read good reviews about the housing - it runs about $150 or so. Anyone tried one of these cases.
3. We have enough points thru a reward program to get either an Olympus Stylus 790SW or a Pentax Optio W30. Any comments on either of these? Good/Bad? I know the Olympus is a few models below what is currently available. Cann't remember which model a few of the crew on here were after a few weeks ago at a cheap price. Also, read a review somewhere about the camera needing servicing in regards to the seal regularly and that was quite pricey.

We're not going to be using it alot. Just basically on vacation and only for snorkelling and places like Typhoon Lagoon/Castaway Cay. No diving. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I must say I would normally say go for the tough Olympus - as it IS a very impressive digicam - solid magnesium body - freeze resistant - crush resistant - impact resistant - and water proof to about 10-13 feet. Wow! The only things off hand it is NOT... is BulletProof, FIRE PROOF, resistant to nuclear Electromagnetic Pulse, or radiation proof!

ALTERNATIVELY, if you're gonna shoot less than 48 photos - total - then a couple of those underwater disposable cameras MIGHT be a consideration - but for what 2 disposables cost (plus processing and printing) you really should just step up to the versetile and tough Olympus! I am actually coveting one now - and unfortunately we had the local target search the records of all the Socal Targets and the 2 stores listed with a few actually were sold out... DRAT!

Crash, What a wonderful, wonderful friend you are. I know it's painful to hear a friend say these things, but I think it's like the monster in the closet. The monster is less scary when you fling the door open & boldly challenge it's existance. She probably needs to say those words out loud. I also think it must be difficult for your friend to have this conversation with her husband.

...[ed]...
Tom, I am so sorry to hear about your friend. You and Alicia are wonderful friends to her and her family. I hope she doesn't have problems with the insurance company, she is experiencing enough turmoil in her life without having to fight with them.
:grouphug:

Alicia and her girlfriend work for the same company - and Alicia tells me our health insurance coverage will definately pay for this medication - as they ARE in the "business" right? SO our coverage is good for this $8000 a month medication! Whew! What a relief! However, I am waiting for the proof of hearing it is so from our friend. kno what I mean?

.

Friends.... I'm sitting here with tearful eyes thinking about all this. And yes, our conversation yesterday at times was making me think "this is not sounding like anything she would be talking about with her husband"... possibly. That actually crossed my mind. And I was struggling to listen - and offer diplomaticly neutral or supportive remarks without being patronizing. Yeah, in the 3 hours we had in the car plus hours in the waiting area we talked a lot. It was sad and somber at times - but I sort of knew what was coming before I picked her up....

I say all this - mostly because I know no one can see my eyes now... and when next we meet (in person) it will be a kind of "15+ days of passing one another thing" all over the place on the ship and ashore in a few months. So by then all this specific conversation tonite will be mostly forgotten (most likely) as everyone is involved with the fun of the voyage. We'll be swapping warm knowing smiles - handshakes - and quiet coversations as time permits - So, for now I feel as if I'm on new ground as I write some of this - but this has been what I've been thinking and feeling... and experiencing. I think with most folks I SEE face to face I won't talk about any of this except with Alicia. I think this experience is teaching me to embrace our existance and conduct with a whole new perspective. Know what I mean? I think I'm rambling again... :confused3

At any rate - I wanted to express thanks for everyones helpful remarks. Some have said things I was feeling but NOT recognizing or understanding. I have gained some focus and renewed strength from everyones' comments.... Thank You... sincerely.
