Actually, Linda's the one who said it first. She follows all the posts, so she feels like she knows everybody too. We had a lot of fun at our first wedding, and want to for this vow renewal too!

I forgot that she reads the board until I saw her look over from the laptop, and she said,"What do you mean..That's the camera I'm looking at?" She found my post about the Nikon d40. That's the first time she heard about that, even though she did say she would love a DSLR.



I was just downloading some pictures off the camera. DS 10 had a field trip to the aquarium, and he got some pretty good shots. I'll have to be sure to let him take a bunch on the TOAL. For some reason, this one really caught me eye. I think it's cool that the fish was looking right at him, and you can see the eyes bulging out on both sides.

Amazing - looks like the fish was photoshopped. Amazing - I let my dd14 take some shots at the celebration party at Starbucks. It too amazed me at the way she was able to capture some candid shots from her viewpoint - she also wanted the logo shot in a specific way - I did have to help her with that portion but the creativity behind it shocked me. She's an Aries and they are very creative people - either that or she hasn't lost her child's viewpoint on life!

Did I mention I hate creative people?

Forgot to mention Mike - your son would probably feeled so honored if you framed that for him. I did that with one picture that my dd took and she was so honestly surprised that I thought it was important enough to frame - she hung it on her wall herself.

Made me realize how innocent and how truly precious they are - to be so happy for some little thing.

Did I mention I the image! Tell your son good going - bet you he was copying what dad or mom does!

Edited to add: Doesn't that remind anyone of the Don Knotts movie where he turned into a fish? Gosh - what was it called?

Coral. sometimes when I want to find out what the kids may have downloaded I have done a search for files on that date. I couldn't tell you offhand how I used to find them but I did, and they were busted. Have you tried that??

I tried by date range but it was not there. It was not the smartest thing for me to download on my work laptop. Goodness knows what they did with it.
I was shopping at Victorias Secret online the other day and my boss called laughing hysterically saying the pc guys said to buy the black one.
I wore a big jacket when I saw them next. I bet they shared my size with everyone.

Edited to add: I just remembered we all have to go to Sexual Harrassment training in March. I bet everyone becomes too paranoid to even kid anyone after that.

LG, I think for as advanced as our medical care is that it is very disturbing the amount of babies that don't make it. We assume that by keeping all our dr. appts and getting all the tests they give nowadays that things will go as planned. It is very sad that is not the case.

This is true but if you saw pictures of DD when she was born you would ask "What is that?" She did not even look like a baby. When I 1st saw her I thought there was no way she could live as there was not enough even there to live. Good thing I was wrong.
We bought our 1st digital camera because the NICU would not allow flash. It was not even 1 MP and it was $1,000.00 in 1996. 2 years later we paid another $1,000.00 for a whopping 2 MP camera.
So we have pictures of DD when she was born but they are not the best.

Yes, I also have a close family member who found out 5 months into her pregnancy that the baby had a terrible genetic disease, dealt with the news for the next four months, gave birth and he (Noah) died less than 24 hours later. Another close friend went in for a routine OB checkup at 8 months and they couldn't find the heartbeat -- he (Ari) was delivered stillborn. I say the names of these babies because I know how much it means to the parents to have them acknowledged as people rather than as objects. Anyone who is lucky enough to have healthy children, for all that they drive us up the wall often, have to remember what a blessing it is.

We have friends who had a son born very prematurely. He put up a heck of a fight, but unfortunately passed away at the age of two months. It was hard for us to come up with words to express our sorrow, but Justin's Mom was so glad that we did. She said it acknowledged the fact that even though not many people met him (he was in the hospital the entire time), it still acknowledged that he was their son, a part of the family, and that he existed and mattered.




Well, I'd rather you imagine what it would look like, than for us to actually have to see it in person.

The main simialarity is these were boys. They apparantly do significantly worse than girls. The Dr's and nurses were relieved when I showed up at 20 weeks (barely even showing) in premature labor that I was having a girl. When Megan was born at 24 she did well except for a couple hiccups. The boys even born later gestationally when we were in the NICu did not fare very well.
