Hey Crew -
I'll miss chat tonight. DS6 learned how to ride his bike today, and is currently out with his big brother on his first around the neighborhood bike ride. :woohoo: :woohoo:

Congrats to your son! :goodvibes

6) I'd like another day with my Mom before she became ill. I wanna let her know I will marry Alicia - then I'd like to elope on the spot and bring my Mom along fer the service. Alicia took my mothers' wedding ring and it was something she sort of wanted me to do (marry Alicia - but she never saw it) . Long story - best left for retelling in detail in person (maybe) ...So, that's it fer now.

Tom, I like to think that my dad and other family members that have gone, look down on us and know what we are doing. It also helps me to think that they are in heaven loving and taking care of my sweet baby up there. I don't know if you listen to country music, but there is a song about hole in the floor of heaven (Steve Wariner)--that really hits home.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'd like to buy a vowel, Pat.
:lmao: :lmao:

Here's one shot of us at the beach after the wedding

Ourvows.jpg

You look so happy in this picture! I love it:goodvibes

We have room for extra guests and would love to have our DIS family there. (Can only fit about 30-40 pirates at Palo, not the whole 500+ crew :sad1: ) I won't put anybody on the spot by inviting them directly, because I know it's Castaway Cay day and there's a lot going on that morning. I don't want to intrude on anybody's plans. So there's a "first-come" open invitation to all. Let me know if you're interested.

I can also check with our wedding coordinator to see if they'll let us have guests just come to the beach for the renewal if they want. That way it wouldn't cut into people's beach time or the pirate picture if they didn't want to come back to Palo for the cake and champagne.

When DD had her wedding on Castaway Cay, they did the ceremony out on the dock at the Heads Up bar. The bar wasn't open yet, so in the pictures, it doesn't really look like a bar.
They had chairs set up in rows for the allotted amount of people...which is 25 if I recall correctly...but we had also invited some DIS people to come on out and they did. There were some empty chairs and some people sat in those, but there was PLENTY of room for quite a few others to stand in the back.
If the vow renewal is done on the beach, then DCL won't have any limit at all to the number of guests.

The difference with the Palo reception is that they kept all of us corralled into the center section (where the food for brunch is set up). They didn't want us around the tables, as they were all clean and set up for dinner. Even though it was 11:00 in the morning. Plus, you have to pay for extra champagne and sparkling cider....and I believe they wanted it ordered ahead of time. Again, if I remember correctly, they limited the number of guests to 25 and that included family and the wedding party.

They did a fantastic job. They had a decorated golf cart at the end of the gangway to take the bride and myself over to the beach. They used the tram to take everyone else over there before us. They made special stops on the way back to the ship for the bride and groom to take pictures with Mickey, Minnie and Goofy......but no characters were at the ceremony. The ceremony itself was quite dignified and beautiful, as it would be if it were held in a church.
The one thing none of us thought of until later, they did not ask my daughter if they wanted a picture taken on the beach....and later when she thought of it, she was sad that they didn't. They did have great shots of them, and then any of the rest of us who were interested...out on the dock with the ship in the background. Just like the one in my signature.

Stace, we're looking into our transportation from SNA to DL. Do you want to PM me your last name in case we go with this company, so we can let them know you sent us? Thanks for the heads-up about them.

PM sent!

Oops! Well you never know....

I missed chat tonight. I went to a co-workers DH's "wake" or "viewing" tonight. Poor guy was my age (42) and died very unexpectantly. I was counting up and I have been to 5 funerals or viewings on co-workers spouses or kids over the last 16 1/2 years. We used to be a very close knit "family".
Coral, I am sorry to hear about your coworkers DH, that is so young.

That is a great picture! She was soo cute!!!:goodvibes

You look so happy in this picture! I love it:goodvibes

We were. We had a blast....so much more fun to do it a second time and really, truly just have fun with it.
We chose a steel pan guy for music....we had a choice, could have had a small band, a violinist...anything....but the steel pan seemed to fit the setting. And he let us try it out. What a riot that was!! There I was, champagne glass in one hand, drum stick in the other...gettin' all jiggy with it!!! Or whatever it is that the "hip" crowd calls it......:rotfl:

Oh yeah....one of the guys trying to toss me into the ocean is going on the TOAL...he and his beloved will be sharing a table with the Escaping Moms...just as they did for the 11 Night Southern. And there are two husbands of the Escaping Moms in that pic also. Just like having family there!!

Cute!!!!:goodvibes

No, it's just not always possible . . . . a friend of mine struggled with fertility issues for years, finally got pregnant a few years ago, did EVERYTHING right, and had a tiny preemie boy (Tristan) who fought for life in the hospital for 2 months before losing the battle . . .

Julie, my heart goes out to your friend. I know how hard it was to lose a child during birth. I can't imagine watching, and loving him for 2 months.

Yes, that picture was MADE for photoshopping . . . I can hardly wait to see who ends up being hugged familiarly by Stace over the next several months . . .

You know.....:rolleyes1 ....he may have never even thought of it without help....

He'd have even more fun if I posted the picture taken directly after that one. I bit Jay's ear. :lmao:

Do you have the ressie in justmestace?:goodvibes

We've got a ton of comedians on this cruise. We won't NEED to go to the clubs.
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Everyone will have to do like Mike and PM me for my name. I'm trying to fly under the radar and be incognito.
Yeah. Like that'll happen with all of Crash's help!!!

prbbly vry xpnsv

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

I have 2 pirate:s...both in the first 5. My average just keep going down.

Havne't got any - so you're still way ahead of me.

YAY Issac!!!

Issac says thanks to everyone for all the congratulations. Now he wants me to take a picture of him and post it.

Just wait until he is standing on the pegs, no hands, downhill, around a curve...
DS9 hasn't crashed yet, but when he does, it will be spectacular!

Of course, that would require us to get him a bike with pegs.... :rotfl:

We stopped after he had his first crash. You should have heard me hootin' and hollerin' "Yea!!! Your first crash! Woo-hoo! Now get on your bick, ride home, and let's have a special treat." (He picked a couple pieces of chocolate.)

Then later he went off with brother for his first bike ride. DH did find them - brother had taken him all the way to the swim club, and was keeping him on the side walk. The side walk is a bit narrow for a new rider - so he kept stopping, and needing help to get started again. The 16 block round trip took 45 minutes. :rotfl:

He must be thrilled that you are celebrating. I remember my DS6 learning to ride before my DD7. My DD was soooo upset, but she was terrified to try. It was the middle of the summer and I had her put on her snow suit and gloves. That did the trick and she never needed them again after that.

Cool idea - the snow suit. :thumbsup2

DS6 has had the bike for over a year now, but has been avoiding trying. On the recommendation of the bike store guy, we set the seat really low so that he could paddle around with his feet. No training wheels. So, we've been making him paddle around (for 10 minutes for so) occassionally (maybe once a month) for a while now. But he preferred his tricycle.

This week I let him know that brother and I will be taking our bikes on the 5-week camping trip this summer, and he needed to learn to ride becasue we can take his bike, but not his tricycle.

15 minutes on Wednesday had him riding about 20 feet. 30 minutes yesterday, raised the seat, and he's off and biking.

The bike, of course, is way to small for him - so I see a new bike in his future before summer.

(no seriously, i had to make diecut cards for my graphic design studio and what entered my mind?..... I had tire track patterns printed on the inside of card and the cutouts were in the shape of a cat. THe pattern looked like calico cat from the front of the card but then when you opened them they were "Sorry your cat hit the road" cards... My professeur's words i believe were, "That's sick....I like it."

:lmao: :lmao: Too funny.

Did you know that "Sick!" is now a word of high praise? As least with the 5th grade set. Weird.

OK Andrew - talk about pouring salt in the wounds, water over a fire, a wet blanket........any other cliches out there?

Just because you had your one or two or three????????

Nah - I think he doesn't want to admit that the current pirates are more valuable than the earlier pirates - with all the oddly numbered threads - they come less often now.

Instead - he's trying to convince everyone that the current pirates aren't as good because of the oddly numbered posting.

Veeeeerrrrrryyyy Clever... :rotfl: :rotfl:
.

Yes, that picture was MADE for photoshopping . . . I can hardly wait to see who ends up being hugged familiarly by Stace over the next several months . . .

I am guessing it will be a Chippendales dancer....but the toilet with a brick would be interesting.

Go Crash....Go Crash....popcorn::

. . . or a bunny with a pancake on its head . . .

Oh the possibilities.....

[ed]...

Stace cuddled up with the machine gun groundhog.
Or the Dr. Who vacuum cleaner.

Great pictures! Looks like you guys had a ball!

So sorry!

Maybe you will find "Mr. Right" in Cartagena! (or "Mr. Right Now")

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Has anyone else noticed that the only people posting between 6 and 8 am on a weekend are the current and former skating moms and the guy on the other side of an ocean?

Coincidence? I think not.

I don't know how the heck you guys chat so late & then get up so early! I dragged my butt out of bed at around 10!

A Euro, isn't that some kind of east european car......while visiting Wales for Christmas, we didn't see a single monetary Euro in the wild during the entire trip.

We did take our DD ice skating for the first time ever (in Cardiff). We went along with two other couples and their kids. Guess which parent got to go out on the ice with them, yep me. I hadn't been on skates since high school and the other SP (Stinky Parents) all feigned some kind of sudden muscle pull or other story to avoid skating....anyway we had a blast, I didn't fall (came close a couple of times) and DD loved it.

Andy

Love those rosy cheeks!

Sorry Diane.

Thank you! :flower3:

Oh how sad! :sad1:

Thanks for sharing your experiene and great pictures too! It looks like you all had a great time.

We have no say on when we do it. It's the very first thing in the morning, we get off as soon as they get the all clear after docking.

But that would make an awesome wedding picture. Bet nobody else has one like that. How cool would it be to have Captain Jack walk Linda down the aisle?! Oh Todd....

After the beach ceremony and pictures, it's back to Palo for a cake and champagne reception. Then it's bathing suit and beach time!

Wow that is sooooo nice of you Mike! :cool1:

I was just saying the same thing to DH last night when I was cracking up in chat! :goodvibes

Andy

Great photo - I recognise the Fordthorne dealer advert on the side of the rink in the photo, when I was younger I bough a brand new Ford XR2 from them. My father was alive then and he hated it because he was too tall to be comfortable. I used to regularly drive at around 115mph in that car:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

David

ROFLMBO!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Yeah...that's what he looks like under his tux...uh huh...right..... wake me up I'm dreaming
My dress appears to be made out of Charmin......

I'm pleased that you drew a chuckle from this bit of nonsense...

Gee... I had no idea....

everyones' a critic this mornin'

:cool1: :cool1: :dance3: :dance3:

DOING THE DOCUMENT DANCE!!!!!!!

We got our docs for the March Mini-Meet at Disneyland!!!!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

And I had this great plan that went the way of the Charmin dress...or the brick.

My plan was to use our Magic Morning early entry into Fantasyland one morning...do what we could there, and then head toward Tomorrowland just before park opening so that we could be near the front of the line for the Nemo ride.
HA! Curses, foiled again. The park OPENS at 8:00 AM on both Saturday and Sunday. I KNOW that none of us will be out of bed and ready to hit the park by 7:00 am. No way. I have teenagers who don't like to get up before noon. :sad2: :sad2:

Crash, I think you just clinched the nomination for best photoshopped picture!!!!

It may take years, but I'm going to get even with him someday.
He'll be watching his back the whole cruise....I'm going to stalk him like paparazzi......waiting, watching.....to catch him in an embarrassing act.....
:tiptoe: :tiptoe: :tiptoe:
Who am I kidding? This is the man who faked dumping his child overboard for a Shutters photo.......

If we can get off the ship early enough (DH is the slowpoke here) we'd love to see the ceremony. Have to be a no show for Palo. Once we are planted on CC there is no going back til later.

Stace!!! We just knew he would do that :lmao:
