A Euro, isn't that some kind of east european car......while visiting Wales for Christmas, we didn't see a single monetary Euro in the wild during the entire trip.

We did take our DD ice skating for the first time ever (in Cardiff). We went along with two other couples and their kids. Guess which parent got to go out on the ice with them, yep me. I hadn't been on skates since high school and the other SP (Stinky Parents) all feigned some kind of sudden muscle pull or other story to avoid skating....anyway we had a blast, I didn't fall (came close a couple of times) and DD loved it.

Andy
Well done for avoiding anything nasty :thumbsup2 ( not on the ice, in Cardiff) :rotfl2:

:grouphug: to both from me.
My mom was diagnosed with colon cancer at 48 and died at 49...a year before screenings are recommended.
Sorry M.

Our news - Took Geoff college shopping last weekend, Eric's band was in a battle of the bands thing on Saturday and they have moved to the semi finals, so he will play there again sometime. The locaton leaves a lot to be desired. The club where they played was okay but it is inbetween a tatoo place and a 24 hour, Girls available place. YUCK.. just where i don't want my kid to be!!! Even the Dad of another one of the musicans who has taken the kids into the city .. was very nervous about being there too..

I am very upset at work.. they cut my commission % for 2008 ( just found out last Friday) and my pay will decrease BIG Time in 2008.. just what I wasn't looking for a pay decrease.. and of course my manager didn't say a word.. nothing nada.. no explanation nothing.. no meeting before to give me some spin.. :sad2: so i am in very serious looking for a job mode... went on an interview yesterday...

thats all from this end of the world.. I am gonna try and ketchup a bit and read the last few pages..

Susan, how exciting for Geoff. Sorry about your pay that just bites.

So sorry to all of you! My Dad died from cancer in 1980 & I still miss him! It's never easy! :grouphug:

Sorry Diane.

It's snowing to beat the band here. Expecting 10 inches by midnight. I sent DH to the store to get a few things & he's going on & on about how miserable the grocery store was since everyone is in a panic buying all the fixin's for french toast! Better him than me!
I bet it's pretty, but I am so glad I am not there:)

Good Evening the weekend starts here, just booked my flights for 2009!!! To and from Orlando and my Eastern cruise then!!!

Andrew, here I was thinking that I took care of things early. Hopefully, your flights don't change.:)

I got purple because cranberry doesn't go with sunburn.
:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Fine Print: If you do book, and mention my name at booking, I get a discount on mine, and as great as these guys are, you MAY get a discount on yours, too!!!

Do you have the ressie in justmestace?:goodvibes

Need some help here.....

My Mom and her boyfriend are in Florida for a few weeks. He has never been to WDW and has refused to go (probably due to guilt of never having taken his kids??), but my Mom is either dragging him there or got him to agree to go for one day.

She is thinking either Animal Kingdom (he's a hunter and has been on safari, etc.) or EPCOT. She wants me to scout out/suggest a few attractions for them to see/do.

Limitations: just keep walking to minimum (e.g. options for return trip by boat, tram, etc.)

Your thoughts?
Tom, I still have never been to AK. I love EPCOT though.

Yes, that picture was MADE for photoshopping . . . I can hardly wait to see who ends up being hugged familiarly by Stace over the next several months . . .

I am guessing it will be a Chippendales dancer....but the toilet with a brick would be interesting.

Go Crash....Go Crash....popcorn::

. . . or a bunny with a pancake on its head . . .

Oh the possibilities.....

Stace cuddled up with the machine gun groundhog.
Or the Dr. Who vacuum cleaner.

I'm waiting to see this as well :lmao:

Has anyone else noticed that the only people posting between 6 and 8 am on a weekend are the current and former skating moms and the guy on the other side of an ocean?

Coincidence? I think not.

Yes, we are programmed to get them to the rink before the sun. She had to be there 5:45.You can agree with me on this tho, DD was at school by 9 and had the whole day to herself. Was extremely disciplined and was a straight A student. When we made the move to Fl. Only 1 rink in town. The schedule was 5pm thru dinnertime. What a mess.Grab something on the way home, homework in the car etc...Grades were slipping. It became too stressful and it was the demise a few years later. In hindsight she regretted it.She got as far as Junior freestyle. They still had figures then and she failed that one and quit.

Well, all three of my kids were asleep when I was posting earlier, but the dogs have to be walked pretty early regardless of the day of the week . . .:sad2:

the lack..of using knowledge learned [common sense per the trade]
for improving our standards of care. i believe...the medical field has
an ongoing obligation toward "improving", by every mean/s available.

LG, I think for as advanced as our medical care is that it is very disturbing the amount of babies that don't make it. We assume that by keeping all our dr. appts and getting all the tests they give nowadays that things will go as planned. It is very sad that is not the case.:sad1: :sad1:

Firstly school holidays so flights go quickly, you should see the UK Dis the number of people booking up already. Give it a month or so and the main school holiday flights would have gone with VA.The flights shouldn't change as they are scheduled with Virgin Atlantic, the holiday company is the sister to them Virgin holidays.

The times have been the same for years, I had the same flights in 2000,2001,2002,2003 & 2005(return). But I am on BA this year to and from the Cruise.

Kev and I have been on 2 so far(3 and 7 day) and haven't been to any of the shows.

First Lorri and now you! I can't believe you all missed the shows. They are really good. Hopefully, you all will at least see the plays this time.:goodvibes

No, it's just not always possible . . . . a friend of mine struggled with fertility issues for years, finally got pregnant a few years ago, did EVERYTHING right, and had a tiny preemie boy (Tristan) who fought for life in the hospital for 2 months before losing the battle . . .

I'm waiting to see this as well :lmao:

Ugh, tell me about it. I've never been a morning person, but it was so much easier to just get up and go. In HS, my regular times were 8pm-midnight. That was the worst. By the time I got home I was so hyped up that I didn't fall asleep until 2. Thank goodness for sleeping in study hall!

I hated figures!! The Moves in the Field tests that they replaced it with are so much more fun. I went back and took a bunch of the MITF tests in my 20s.

Sowing since before 5 am here and is supposed to snow all through the night, upwards of 12 inches by the time it is all said and done. I'm hoping that this is the last big one for the year.

Lorr, I hope it is too.:)

Here's one shot of us at the beach after the wedding

Ourvows.jpg

Thanks for sharing your experiene and great pictures too! It looks like you all had a great time.

 hey can you schedule it right after the pirate: photo op? AND are we invited? Can you just imagine what your pictures will turn out if all your friends from TOAL (read pirate: and wenches) were all decked out? Can you say - drag party? Although I'm game if you decide to invite us......just fair warning - make sure you have plenty of rum! :lmao:

Heck - Cpt Jack can make an appearance with the real capt and capt Mickey will be there right?

We have no say on when we do it. It's the very first thing in the morning, we get off as soon as they get the all clear after docking.

But that would make an awesome wedding picture. Bet nobody else has one like that. How cool would it be to have Captain Jack walk Linda down the aisle?! Oh Todd....

After the beach ceremony and pictures, it's back to Palo for a cake and champagne reception. Then it's bathing suit and beach time!

We have room for extra guests and would love to have our DIS family there. (Can only fit about 30-40 pirates at Palo, not the whole 500+ crew :sad1: ) I won't put anybody on the spot by inviting them directly, because I know it's Castaway Cay day and there's a lot going on that morning. I don't want to intrude on anybody's plans. So there's a "first-come" open invitation to all. Let me know if you're interested.

I can also check with our wedding coordinator to see if they'll let us have guests just come to the beach for the renewal if they want. That way it wouldn't cut into people's beach time or the pirate picture if they didn't want to come back to Palo for the cake and champagne.

Surprisingly, the vow renewal on Castaway Cay was still open!!!!! We booked it right then and there! So we're renewing our vows on Castaway Cay at the end of our Trip Of A Lifetime! What a memorable way to end a fantastic trip.

I am glad you finished the story! I agree what a great finale to your trip!:goodvibes

I just booked transportation from the cruise to Disneyland for our June Mexican Riviera cruise. (we're not doing the parks for this one) and I had contacted several car companies (limos, town cars, etc) but only ONE company replied. I spoke to them on the phone today, and these guys are GREAT.

They will do pickup at any of the area airports, to Disneyland, to the port, from the port....anywhere you want to go....they can make stops (for food, liquor, etc)....and the cost was not bad at all.

Anyway.....if you're needing private (town cars up to giant Hummerzines) this is the company"

Stace, we're looking into our transportation from SNA to DL. Do you want to PM me your last name in case we go with this company, so we can let them know you sent us? Thanks for the heads-up about them.
