I spent last night making "dessert sushi" from rice krispie treats, white chocolate, fruit by the foot and chopped up gummy worms. Our Asian-themed Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet is Wednesday. Turned out pretty cute ifIdosaysomyself.

Roger, I saw your post when I lurked for a few minuted yesterday - I hope this week is MUCH better than last.

Not a great week:sad2:
Hope things look better this week:goodvibes

Thanks for the pics of the bike trail:yay:

I grew up in a very hilly section of Long Island and my kids would be so unprepared to bike those hills:eek:
It's been so long since I've been on a bike- I couldn't do it anymore either:rolleyes1

Note to self- get bike out this summer:rolleyes:

There are several great rail-trails in our area. By their nature they are flat (less than 3% grade). Heck you could ride from DC to Pittsburgh on a trail if you wanted to...but who wants to go to Pittsburgh?

Just plug your zip code into this site: www.traillink.com

This is a nationwide site, but not all trails are GPS mapped yet, especially on the west coast, so some are just listed with trailhead locations.

M - that is just plain evil!

DD - April will turn 15 this year and was just asking me why she couldn't have one. All her friends are having one and now she wants one. I tried to distract by saying I'll take her and a friend on a cruise instead (its cheaper) - but she wants the crown I think! :sad2: Her friend's parents spent $25,000 on their girls this past November! :scared1: :faint:

I think I have created a monster!

So tell her she can have the party IF she wins the contest!

...so glad I have boys...general run-of-the-mill birthday parties are bad enough!

Monica, I am glad to hear that Trevoy is looking forward to the cruise. I think I remember you saying for awhile he wasn't to keen on the idea. Hopefully, he can continue to focus on all the positive things he has going for him. :woohoo: Please tell him I want to ride with someone on the first line too! :lmao:

I want to ride with one of my kids - I figure we'll go faster that way!
Heck, hook all three of us up together...yahooooooooo.

From reading the westbound thread, a number of people who paid in full that day were getting "you need to be paid in full before making reservations" messages.

Might make paying at 95 days a good idea????

I have a question!!!

I don't know if this is something new or not, but the online check-in (DCL) won't take our passport information, etc until we reach either the 105, 90 or 75 day mark. I could have sworn we could do this at any time before. :confused3
So the REAL question is....does that mean we have to fill out all that stuff first and then race to make our online reservations??? That stinks!!

Paula - I think its only fair since that by the time you add up all the girly stuff - you'll end up spending the cost of new car so I say go ahead! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I'm sure you'll make your son's day! ;)

I am sure it would:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Good Morning All

Thank you (as always)for the newsletter, Tom

No way I can ketchup - I hope everyone is doing well. Happy Birthday to all I have missed and welcome to all newcomers to the thread!!!

Roger - Hope the folks are feeling better :flower3: . I ended up with that stomach cooties a few weeks ago and it kicked the carp out of me for a few days. NO FUN at all.

My surgery went well last week and will know for sure on Thursday just how well when I go for a follow up and results of the pathology report will be be available (fingers crossed).

I am off to pack for an overnite stay in the Berkshires. I really don't want to go but am feeling really guilty because I was supposed to go skiing this week for school break with my neighbor. I had to cancel my condo when it became clear my surgery would be too close to the date so she is left up there alone with 3 ST's :scared1: . I must rescue her for at least one night. I am supposed to leave by 9AM, but since I haven't packed a thing yet and *my* ST is still in bed - that ain't happening. No skiing for me this year, but at least I can watch them from our condo :sad1:

Have a great rest of the week everyone.

I am starting to get the feeling back in my fingers (funny the things you just take for granted  ) so I might even be able to make chat, finally, on Friday. It takes me so long to type something that makes any sense I would be groundhog-ing all thru chat.

Hi Liz, great to see ya back.

Roger, the stuff they made me drink a few years ago was different and awful. Thought I was dying :scared1: That is the reason DH is putting it off. Now they give you the big drink. DDs husband did it last year and didn't have any issues at all. Felt great when I left. Went right to breakfast and ate everything I was so hungry.

M, are you all zipping in Cabo too?

No, we're zipping in PV.

My surgery went well last week and will know for sure on Thursday just how well when I go for a follow up and results of the pathology report will be be available (fingers crossed).

I'm glad your surgery went well.
Prayers, pixie dust, happy thoughts, etc. for a good report!

Thanks everyone for the complements on our Halloween outfits. It only took me 4 months to post them! DD thinks I'm a geek to want to dress the mother-daughter thing- but I think it's fun. We don't do it often. When we were at MNSSHP- she got into it, once she saw that there were only a few Chinese Elizabeths and everyone kept saying nice outfit!:lmao:

I even found some oriental looking slippers in the Target $ spot that will go good with it! :thumbsup2

I agree, pay in full early. Didn't affect me last time because had to pay at 90 days but I couldn't book until 75 days. This time around I don't want anything stalling me on booking day.

But that being said, yes pay in full, but no you don't have to fill in all your guest information to be able to book.

Thre costumes look great!!!

I this the only thread for this cruise? I thought there was another one as well. I know that 2 have been closed, but I was thinking there was another one. It was less traveled. Does anyone remember it?

There was a thread that winotracy was on with several other people. I guess it moved a little too slow and got left behind in DIS heaven. You can ask Winotracey the name but I could not find it under meets anymore.

Just feel free to jump on whenever you feel like it.:flower3: If you have a question...lots of people have the answers!!:woohoo:

DH is NEVER to hail a taxi ever again[/B]. Let's just say - when we got to the ship - I changed and prayed to God for letting me live.

DD - April will turn 15 this year and was just asking me why she couldn't have one. All her friends are having one and now she wants one. I tried to distract by saying I'll take her and a friend on a cruise instead (its cheaper) - but she wants the crown I think! I need to hear more about this adventure in Puerto vallerta!!!!!:rolleyes1
Were did you take the cab to or from. Are you doing DCL excursions only???:confused3

Sounds like a deal if you could skip the four years of college!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: We paid for the childrens college(that is why we are old to start enjoying life). Each child paid for their own wedding. We gave our children the choice of a great car or we pay for their college. I guesss we did not raise any dummies:rotfl: :rotfl: They both took the college education. Now we have the littlest house and the cheapest car. :rolleyes1

Cheryl it is a pain to get old. :sad2: So for me and my DD12 this last summer it might have taken about 10-15 mins to get to the tower at a very slow pace. I could probably riden the entire loop in 10 mins.

Yes... this getting old is not very fun!!!! Then mind is young but the body is old.:lmao: :lmao: I think I could handle the 15 minutes to get their and I could always walk the bike back!!!:rotfl2:

I would love to lead a bike ride around the island. It was a lot of fun. The only downside is that it gets extremely hot once you leave the water. Without riding hard you work up quite of sweat by the time you are done.

Working up a sweat might be a good thinkg after all the shrimp and lobster I will be eating!!!

Thanks! Did I mention that I have to go in for my first colonoscopy on Wednesday. :scared1: Tomorrow is clear liquids, jello and a gallon of that stuff I use to joke about when giving to our patients. Did mention that it is a pain to get old.

I had to drink smaller bottles of the stuff but they made John and I do it twice. Once at 6 pm and the next time a 3 pm. I was so dehydrated that I passed out before the hospital to do the test. A little something was found in each of us so we get to do thig again AFTER we get back from the cruise.
:headache:

DM is still in the hospital but doing better. DF got to go home that night. Unfortunately they live about an hour and a half away so I had no pull at that hospital. I did get to know all of the staff by the time I left. Just got back from taking by DF down to visit.

Glad people are starting to feel better now. It has been a heck of a winter here so far.

Good Morning All

Oh Mary Ann I guess I didn't realize you were having surgery. Glad you're recovered from it. Hope all the tests come out fine.

Be careful out there. Don't let those STs get the best of you.

Sounds very busy Liz! Take it slow! ;)

Good Morning pirate: s!
Week in review

[*]Torn Plantaris Muscle (small muscle in the back of calf) Remind me I can not run
[*]Dermatology appt (cut off a few moles)
[*]Spent all day in ER yesterday, no not for me but had both DM and DF in for stomach virus

Sorry to hear Roger! Take care of yourself!

Too bad mine's turning 14 this year!

Your last week is close to my next 2 weeks.
I go on Thursday to the Podiatrist for a followup on some foot work I had done.
Next Thursday I go to the Dermatologist to get a few moles removed and some weird thing on the side of my nose (pretty, huh?)

Hoping to avoid the ER entirely. :)

Hope things pick up from here for you Roger.

Wishing for the best for you too!
Easter last year we met the Dream Team - unfortunately all we won were some Mickey Hats (as modelled by DD below). They were won as we exited RFC at AK into the park. Approx. 20-30 people won at that time!

IMG3674_061.jpg

Oh what a cutie!!!

:confused3 ...that's the #1 input...i get from others, telling the story.

however, i don't think so...cos, if he was paying attention..he had
to see, me cutting in front, to block him off..& he kept on coming.
my boys..were not there..& he was a much bigger. and
well dressed...& we "hit" hard!...very hard! even my wife was
surprised...

...the world we live in...if we take time jus to help those around us,
we can make..it the safer * happier place, for our children. & its not
very hard..to figure out...there we will always need our family values.
:grouphug: .

then there are our dcl cruises..we have been :scared1: ...more than once
with "acting out" behaviors. sorta surprising....when one think how much
these cruises cost...why spend..any time...being mean or nasty? as
noted..before...i made it a point..to observe the disers on the 11-nighter.
let me say, this..they were impressive!..did you share any time..with
the poster, papa?...what nice people!..[we' kept bumping..into, cos our
cabins were next door! * i think his wife..is a neonatal icu rn. talk
about holding..life...in one's hands.]
That was a really odd encounter you had to deal with! So glad you were able to stop the lunatic from barreling into your family!

I couldn't agree more about the Disers! Maybe we're all too aware of what can & does go wrong & we're prepared for the inevitable? I certainly know we're very aware that everything isn't going to go according to plan, but a vacation is what you make it! We certainly all have the love of Disney in common! :goodvibes

At WDW I've seen parents yell & scream at their kids & even witnessed a father open hand slap his son at the bus stop in DTD. All I heard was the son whining about something as kids tend to do when they're tired & have been running around the World non-stop. The poor kid was crying & went to his mother for sympathy & she said, "So what did you do to deserve it?" :confused3

I think sometimes people get so busy planning, spending, etc. that they want their vacation to be perfect & if one little thing goes wrong, they can't handle it. Not so fond memories I think! :sad2:

We won the YOAMD twice last summer. Second time was exiting Mickey's ToonTown autograph barn and kids and I (wife was shopping) got:

MagicKingdom118.jpg

First time was exiting the Crush and Gusher at Typhoon Lagoon and kids and I (wife again off somewhere) got pin lanyards with two YOAMD pins.

After second time, kids said "Mom, we don't want you to do anything with us. We win when you aren't around!"

Such handsome boys! Love the blue eyes!

Thank you, the Doctors said, on steroids your fighting a loosing battle on weight gain, but thats like a red flag to a bull to me, if someone says you cant,

Its been an average of three pounds each week, nothing major, but also a regular amount so far, that might be easier to keep to.

Last blood count was 'normal' now thats the first time I have ever been called that!

Wow that's excellent news Andrew! :thumbsup2
Why did I see everyone fall into the water everytime I saw the boat go out??:confused3 It looks like so much fun but I don't like what is in the water?????

I couldn't agree more! I'm a chicken! :scared:

Remind me as time gets nearer and I will see what might be in your fish extender. :rolleyes1

:yay: :yay: :yay:

Thank you for the nice comments about DD Jordan. She is pretty, but she's shy and she honestly, truly does not believe or acknowlege how pretty she is. That's the best kind of girl, I think. :thumbsup2
I would have killed to have looked like her when I was her age. But I probably would have been a TRUE stinky teen if I had been!

I wish she were still turning 15, I'd enter for that party.

She is stunning! princess:

Andrew that is great news!!!:dance3: :dance3:
Now If I can only convince myself food does not taste good!!!:lmao: :lmao:

Congrats Andrew! I started going to the gym myself in the hopes of losing and while I am so happy I started - the needle on the scale hasn't moved in any direction for me! Shall we make this a friendly wager?

Better not - men have better luck at losing weight than us wenches. Not fair I tell you. :sad2:
We are sllooooowwwww!

Wow that's excellent news Andrew! :thumbsup2

Thanks all, making space for 15 nights cruising.pirate:
