Wow, only one measley post for me :sad1: Guess I'm gonna have to get moving on upping that post count ;)

Happy Booking-Anniversary fellow pirate: My booking story goes something like this ... logged onto the site at 8:00, and found a price for an inside cabin ... just wanted to get on the ship. Told DH the price, figured it out by night to ease the sting ;) When he said to me, "How much for a window? I know you and you won't be happy without natural light in the cabin for fifteen nights." Guess after all these years, he might just *know* me :rotfl2:

Have a great day everyone

~Kandi

My DH's b-day is the 11th so we usually will celebrate that and it's much cheaper to go out....

Aren't ya coming to Fredneck soon?

The site is Disneyformals.com. As for upper half....That's what undergarments were designed for.... A good push up can work wonders...

And if a push up doesn't help....well there's always Dr. Rey....

And even Dr Rey has his own line of push ups now on HSN.com

This day last year I started out watching all of you with all your booking stories. Joined into the banter............................"Kill the Beast"..................but then I started getting really ticked and had to log off for a while. I had left my booking up to my TA and she was swamped, so she wasn't able to email quote out until theend of the day. Meanwhile I'm watching people snatch up multiple bookings by having a TA get them one and then they themselves booking either online or on the web, therefore driving up the costs for the rest of us. Thankfully my TA got me exactly what I wanted and at Tier 1 pricing, but I didn't know that until late in the afternoon.

Hey Tina!... add 3 more postings to your tally and you'll have the same number of postings as Andy (Verandah man)... try and pull THAT stunt off on the original thread! And Shannon - you're gonna have ta do 5 to match Andy too!

Yea, quite a drop in my post count, eh??? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

But, I'm doing rather well on my other cruise meets thread..........:rolleyes1

Crash just mentioned that he may be visiting also.

If I had it my way - I'd visit WDC cuz there's sooo much I havn't seen. The last time we were ther was a about 6 years and 7 months ago (+/- a month) and we had just had the birth of our 1st daughter, Julianna. In fact, that LA to WDC flight was her very first flight. We were sort of experimenting with what it might be like to travel with a child as - right at 3 months of age for J we were scheduled to attend the wedding of my BIL in Bangkok Thailand - followed by a 2nd reception in Honolulu. And I really couldn't bow out because #1) I had only been offerred the privilage of being best man once before and #2) it was my BIL, and #3) I'd never been best man to a wedding where 1500 people were coming to the reception. But that leads into another LONG story best left for another posting perhaps.

So, we needed a tiny bit of practice - and the WDC trip was first on the schedule for us to try. And on that trip we sort of learned a lot about what we could and could not do enroute and away from home. The only thing we did outside of camping in the hotel was a trip to the near by WDC Zoo.

The DC trip was a working trip for Alicia and for myself. Her company at the time allowed a nursing mom to bring baby with a care provider - me - so I got to go on my nickle to fly - but got to stay in her hotel on her companys' nickle thus saving me some in hotel expense while getting my work done. Except we had a child in tow. At any rate.... here's a couple early pictures of that actual flight (I think???)....

I'm pretty sure these were from the flight - cuz J's 1st flight we were invited up front to sit in the pilots' seat! And this Mom and baby napping picture was near the pilot picture in numerical sequence.

Stacey -
How is your rehabilitation going? And how is Jay's hand? And - you are okay w/all the heavy rains????

Without getting too long-winded.....we are still working HARD at rebuilding the strength in the calf muscle that was cut. I had no idea what effect that was going to have. There are so many movements that we make each day w/o even realizing what muscles are involved in it. I'm not sure that if the doctor had told me how long the recovery would be, if I would have gone through with it. But on the whole, I am doing great and am so grateful every single day!

Jay is bothered by lots of different little pains, and still a lot of swelling, but he's learning to deal with it. It's just going to take some time.

And we spent a wonderful (not) Sunday and Monday...all of us together, and even the oldest DD was here for a visit....being stuck at the house because we couldn't cross the creek to get out. If you have nowhere to go, and plenty of food, it really isn't a big deal. Megan (oldest DD) was supposed to have flown home Monday, but we easily changed her flight to yesterday and all was well.
Now we have sunny skies, and that beautiful clean scent and green color of the desert after a good rain. To me, it's one of the few times that the desert is truly pretty.

Glad to hear that you and Jay are on the road to recovery.

One I can relate to! I hate shopping, love sports, etc. Maybe the other "Escaping Moms" will help this Mom who was born without the "shopping gene".:)

UH OH.....this could be a REAL problem!! ;) As much of a shopper as I am, even I have trouble keeping up with Frances!!
But Vicki is more your speed....so you two will have eachother.........

YIKES!!!!

duct_tape_baby_mianro.jpg

I have to laugh at this...there was a thread on the main boards asking why we would take duct tape on a cruise and I had to SIT ON MY HANDS to keep from saying "It makes a good babysitter!"
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
I just knew people would not understand my sense of humor.

I wasn't on the phone or online, but my TA was and I remember being a nervous wreck!!!

I just trusted Stacey to take care of us - and she did. It was a very easy booking day for me.

But I do go thru that "panic" feeling trying to book flights / hotels we each year with DD gymnastics meets at the end of each season. Once she starts the State / Regional / National run you don't know if you are going to the next level or not. And, even if she moves on, you don't know what time her session will be until a a couple of weeks ahead of time. This year's Level 10 Nationals will be in Florida, so at least if she makes it that far, we won't have flights to deal with.

She is currently very jealous because a teammate of hers (whose Mom was an Olympian) is going to see the Olympic Trials in Philadelphia in June. I wish Lisa could go with to watch them live, but they have family obligations while they are up there, so it won't work. We will just have to watch them on TV.

My original goal was to have been ready for the cruise we were to take at Christmas and when we canceled it because of Jay's accident, he told me that he was glad (for me) because he KNEW I wasn't ready for all that walking.

Now my new goal is our March Disneyland trip....and I KNOW that I will be ready..and even better by far than I was last year. So I am VERY excited and happy!!!!

Edited to add.....the only thing I'm worried about are stairs....like getting into the Nemo ride. My leg still doesn't bend that way. But I know with hard work, I can do it. And a lot of patience from the people behind me!!

Yes, but do you trust me with the excursions? :confused3
Last time, I booked everything and the Moms were plenty happy to go with the flow. This year, I promise to ask everyone first.

What a great opportunity that would have been for Lisa. Maybe next time.

And even Dr Rey has his own line of push ups now on HSN.com

Dr Rey and his powerful spandex Shapewear line ...

splashnews_spl6854_008.jpg

DOes this stuff really work - super spandex - or is it just a gimmick. Cuz I suspect if it DOES work my spouse will be thinking of getting some fer ME fer V-Day.

Not the push up model, mind you... :lmao:

I don't remember who was asking about pictures of our new puppy but here are a couple of photos of Raleigh.

What a face, Roger!! And I love the name you chose. I love puppies.
