We're running late here this morning, so I've got to book.

Bye for now...........:wave2:

G'mornin' pirate:s

Thanks for the maps Tom! I missed those.

YES but can you say that you have taken your DH shopping and gotten some fabulous jewels and he doesn't even remember saying yes. That is when you have achieved Supersale Superwoman status. Just as Mark.:rotfl2:

See previous quotes answer. Kinda how the jewels happened. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

You are good. You're real good.
I have the opposite problem. I love jewlery & I have some nice things, but I hate spending money on myself. DH usually talks me into buying some piece of jewlery on each cruise. I got a very cool LaLique red crystal flower pendant at Atlantis on the first cruise & a black pearl pendant in Costa Maya on the second one.

Hey Pshhhhhh! (I wish we had the sounds from chat!)

comeon comeon

Oops - I meant to respond to the Cabo post --- - Anyway - I was trying to get out of the Tequila shot challenge - didn't work!!!!!
So - I will do my best to pass out w/dignity!! :rotfl2:

The sign of a true lady.

Sorry I have not been around to much since our phase II site went up. The addition of a puppy, recent illness for DW and myself (I blame Crash, the wind must have been blowing our way) we are fine now and my father being in the hospital this week. I can only shake my head on how Monica has been handling this pace for the last year. Hopefully in a week or two things will settle down.

Aaaaawwww. How is the family enjoying the puppy???
I hope you guys are over your ickiness & your dad is doing better.

I guess I set myself up for that. But shhhh....don't tell them....they'll wait a long time to see me topple....I'm a WEEBLE!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

And besides, if I drink a lot and the ship is rocking, I'll actually walk straight!!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Good morning all - been a crazy week so I am going to try and ketchup!!
After seeing my 2 lonely posts on crash's list of post I think I need to get in gear

;)

Morning :goodvibes

Beautiful sunrise. I tried top snap a photo but the screening on the patio got in the way.:)
Today is my Friday :yay: It has been a really long week. Found out my Mom fell and broke her wrist so they are operating on Friday morning so I will be away for a few days.I asked her how she was taking care of herself as it is her right wrist and she said she gets dressed very slowly and was putting on her makeup so the second opinion Dr. wouldn't get scared. She is getting a kick out of the Drs and staff not believing she is 90 yrs old. At least she is getting an ego boost. By the way.... No internet and bare minimum cable :scared1: DS promised to lend me his company laptop so if I get to a wifi spot, I'll try to log on and see how many tons of pages you guys make it impossible to ketchup with :rotfl2: Need to stock up on dvds. DH will be staying home.

My DD woke up yesterday to find her truck had been gone thru. Then finds out the kids left their DSs and PSP in the glove box :scared1:SDo this is the 2nd time Morgan has lost his PSP.Poor kid. The police came and actually fingerprinted. She gave them the serial #s so in case they show up somewhere. His birthday is next month and I have a feeling she will yet again replace it. Too bad she used gift cards instead of putting it on her CC. Come to find out from a co-worker, this has been going on in that town for the last week and not only did she get hit but many in her development as well. I guess they all learned a hard lesson and that is to make sure you LOCK up the vehicles. The other 2 were not touched.

So looks like 2008 is starting out with a bang. I think I have gotten all my forms so will be able to do the taxes. Hopefully we will get $ back again and be able to put it towards the TOAL.

Well I was going to respond to this when I read on that saw that Stace had responded but I will add my 2 cents - its close enough to walk TO but definitely not to walk (assuming you can) back FROM. A taxi cost us about 4-6 dollars last time this was back in 2005 and a bicycly taxi - yes we did it - I was so ashamed - costs us 4 pesos - poor guy did all the work of taking DH and I up the hill past the docking pier. So I gave him tip just for the effort.

This raises a question for me regarding currency - will the US $ be accepted everywhere we dock or are we going to need to g et any local currencies?

Arlene, you know Cheryl and I will be keeping a good thought and prayer for her. Please make sure you call Cheryl when you have a chance on Friday. We'll be in Michigan for our son's wedding but, I will have my cell. I don't know if cCheryl will have hers with her, so just call mine.

Luv ya,
John

OMG! I forgot about the wedding! Mom just called me and in her way convinced me I needed to be there tomorrow instead of Friday morning. She needs me to sign something at the bank which I asked her a few months ago if I needed to do. I am sure this kept her up all night as she obsesses abouth these things. Wonder where I got it from ?? :rotfl2: Now to scramble to get everything done by tonight. OY. I have to gas up the car at Sams during lunch (2.92) and need to have the tires checked out before I go. Today is DD and DSIL 1st Anniversary. I feel bad I won't be able to take them out to dinner and I owe the DGD a present from Monday as well. I guess I am on her "list" again. Maybe I can leave work early?

Anyone looking to maybe doing this not with DCL?? Maybe get a group of our own ??? Is there any interest?? Maybe we could get one of the early times before Disney gets them ...

When I contacted the company in Cabo they said that the times were taken up by the cruise lines, don't know how true that is. They also did say that if you book through the ship and it misses the port it is refundable. They have a 48 hours cancellation policy or no refund if you book with them directly

https://www.cabo-adventures.com/reservations/policy.htm

What I do like about this Dolphin adventure is that if anyone in your group wants to only observe they don't charge you unlike the one in Puerto Vallarta or Acapulco which have an observer charge

If anyone finds anything different about their cancellation policy if booking directly with them please post it as I am very interested in this option

Good question - anyone have an answer? Especially for Cartagena

That sounds like some bad luck. Hope you Mom is healed soon. I like a lady that is concerned about her appearance at 90 w/ a broken wrist. :)

A little piece of advice- Never ask this question on the Cruise Critic board. They are brutal. :)
From what I have read it is respectful to pay in local currency (makes sense) but others say with the weak dollar it is more to their benefit to receive dollars, so who knows?
I am going to get some pesos at 1st stop at an ATM and that way I will have some. I do not plan on making any expensive purchases so it will be for cabs, tips etc.

That's why I"m counting on you and Chris to point me on my way to the party bus.

I'm not going to be there (I'll be at Lori's) - but Julie is reliable!!!

Monica, I will NOT let you miss this ship!:goodvibes

Another tip is that the FASTPASS machine for Roger Rabbit was running on a separate FASTPASS system (need to check that one out - again), also the CA and DL machines are not linked so you can go get FASTPASSES over in CA as well. I think they've removed the FASTPASS from Indy. Anyone heard when Toy Story Mania is opening in CA?. Hope it's before we go.

They had FP for Indy when I was there a month ago.

Sorry to hear about all this, Roger -- hope your father recovers.:grouphug:

You should have seen me do the rope swing in ...oh heck, where were we? I want to say Antigua......I didn't "swing"....I took one feeble step out, and just slid off the rope.
Mark another thing off my list that I never have to do again.

That sounds good, too! Are you doing the Jolly Pirates in Aruba? They have a rope swing just waiting for you -- and all our camcorders pointed expectantly in your direction . . .:lmao:

I'm sure this has been talked about before, but, what is the matterhorn like? I've been on the DL boards but haven'y had a lot of time. Some other board is keeping me runnin':lmao:

It's an old ride, so not so exciting, but in my opinion worth riding once just for the experience. It's an older steel coaster that zooms around inside and outside the Matterhorn, and you encounter a (pretty old audioanimatronic) Yeti twice, I think -- hear him and "see his eyes" other times. No FP, and the lines get pretty long later in the day. You can line up to enter through Fantasyland or through Tomorrowland, and you get slightly different rides depending on which side you pick.

This is a hot topic over at cruise critic. Many state that the US dollar is accepted everywhere, and claim it is preferred over the peso. You will pay the equivalent of about $1 for every 10 pesos in cost. Others claim it is disrespectful not to use your host country's money, and point out that the actual exchange rate is more like 10.8 pesos to the dollar, so you make out better this way (although if you aren't shopping a lot, that difference could be taken up by bank or ATM fees). If you plan to use dollars, they recommend having lots of small bills so that you can give exact amounts. I plan to get some pesos and have small American bills as well so that I am covered either way.

I had her make some for my last cruise!!! She is a sweetheart to do these. I only wanted to make one magnet but how could I resist not making several.!!!

Cheryl, those are adorable!:goodvibes

From what I have read, the US$ is accepted in most places in Mexico, but you will get change in Pesos, etc. They also say that the exchange rate is better if you go to a bank prior to trip than rely on merchants to exchange.

"My feeling is that, even though a lot of places take US dollars, you can get a better deal if you pay in pesos."

"In the tourist areas, dollars are accepted in restaurants and shops, but you won't get the best exchange rate for sure.

You will always lose a little (or a lot) on the exchange rate if you use dollars to make purchases. Plus there is more opportunity to really be shorted as you will get change in pesos, and it can be confusing."
