This raises a question for me regarding currency - will the US $ be accepted everywhere we dock or are we going to need to g et any local currencies?

Don't know if someone else answered, because I'm catching up...but they WILL take US dollars everywhere and credit cards in the stores. There's a good chance that you'll be given change in pesos, though.

Got 2 major job assignments for the next 6 months! Yuck! But I will be partnered up with another co-worker, so it shouldn't be that bad. Anyways I already have my 2 vacations approved (end of April and TOAL), so I'm taking them! Not that they could stop me.

My other co-worker is expecting a new grandchild in July or August so I know she was thinking the same thing when we were in the meeting.

Stay warm, dry and if it's windy hang on. They say we are going to get 5-8 inches of that "s" word by Friday afternoon. Yikes!

Hey everyone! Hope everyone is having a good day. At least it's Wednesday.

And tomorrow is the 1st "birthday" of this cruise . . . not of the thread, of course, but of the day we booked the cruise . . . I'm pretty sure that is the first day I posted, as well, once I had heard back that I had a reservation. I think I had lurked a bit but didn't want to post until I was confirmed. That could be wrong, but I have no way to go back and check, so I'll stick to that story!

Sorry I have not been around to much since our phase II site went up. The addition of a puppy, recent illness for DW and myself (I blame Crash, the wind must have been blowing our way) we are fine now and my father being in the hospital this week. I can only shake my head on how Monica has been handling this pace for the last year. Hopefully in a week or two things will settle down.

Roger best wishes and prayers for your DF. I hope you and the family are feeling better now.

Hey everyone! No notifies yesterday so I missed a lot. That email is like a bell ringing and prompts me to take a break and check the boards. Things have been crazy wrapping up the month!

I just wanted to let you know, I heard that Dreams Unlimited is likely going to lower it's onboard credit for new Panama Canal clients starting on February 1.

I think Dreams gave a long enough time to switch over reservations. I am glad I got my extra credit.

OMG! I forgot about the wedding! Mom just called me and in her way convinced me I needed to be there tomorrow instead of Friday morning.She needs me to sign something at the bank which I asked her a few months ago if I needed to do. I am sure this kept her up all night as she obsesses abouth these things. Wonder where I got it from ?? Now to scramble to get everything done by tonight. OY. I have to gas up the car at Sams during lunch (2.92) and need to have the tires checked out before I go. Today is DD and DSIL 1st Anniversary. I feel bad I won't be able to take them out to dinner and I owe the DGD a present from Monday as well. I guess I am on her "list" again. Maybe I can leave work early?

I hope Your Mom's surgery turns goes well...she will be in our prayers. Just remember keep your . She is old and does not feel well!!!! Is Rich going with you??? Give me a phone call Friday after operation.

My brother's daughters family and my sister both have homes in the K-zoo area. It is such a peaceful part of the state.

I remember when Space mountain opened way back when that it was pretty much the Matterhorn in the dark. It is pretty much the same ride structure as SM in that you go up the mountain then come down twisting and turning. Check out this Matterhorn Ride Video.

Where abouts in Michigan are you all going to be?

We will be going to Portage for the Wedding. It is right next to Kalamazoo. We are afraid of the lake effect snow.....so we will be taking a train from Chicago. DD will take the children up in a van and will give us a ride bacl Sunday. My DS says he mist havt at least 30 inches of snow on the gound!!!

I agree, those are great. Mark and I will be celebrating 20 years. I should look in to getting one. Of course, I am artistically challenged.

Weather seems to have settled down a tiny bit up here - snow is in the hills and lots of ice on the roads. DD home sick today - so DH and I are switching off later so I can go into a client's. Beautiful sunrise. I tried top snap a photo but the screening on the patio got in the way.
Today is my Friday It has been a really long week. Found out my Mom fell and broke her wrist so they are operating on Friday morning so I will be away for a few days.I asked her how she was taking care of herself as it is her right wrist and she said she gets dressed very slowly and was putting on her makeup so the second opinion Dr. wouldn't get scared. She is getting a kick out of the Drs and staff not believing she is 90 yrs old. At least she is getting an ego boost. By the way.... No internet and bare minimum cable DS promised to lend me his company laptop so if I get to a wifi spot, I'll try to log on and see how many tons of pages you guys make it impossible to ketchup with Need to stock up on dvds. DH will be staying home.

My DD woke up yesterday to find her truck had been gone thru. Then finds out the kids left their DSs and PSP in the glove box SDo this is the 2nd time Morgan has lost his PSP.Poor kid. The police came and actually fingerprinted. She gave them the serial #s so in case they show up somewhere.His birthday is next month and I have a feeling she will yet again replace it. Too bad she used gift cards instead of putting it on her CC. Come to find out from a co-worker, this has been going on in that town for the last week and not only did she get hit but many in her development as well. I guess they all learned a hard lesson and that is to make sure you LOCK up the vehicles. The other 2 were not touched.

So looks like 2008 is starting out with a bang. I think I have gotten all my forms so will be able to do the taxes. Hopefully we will get $ back again and be able to put it towards the TOAL.

All of our area's schools were closed for a snow day today....first one in 15 years! My kids sure are happy, and it could not have worked out on a better day for me. I had to reschedule my son's orthodontist appointment to today, and now, will not have to pull him out of school after all!

We had 51 degrees at noon and down to -1 degrees by the time I went to bed. The wind gust were 53 miles an hour making the wind chill -25 to -35 degrees below zero. Not much snow but had such a whiteout. No one could see past 3 feet with the wind. Freezing here again with the high of 10 with strong winds again.

There is no fastpass for Pirates. Took it out more than a year ago.

I'm sure this has been talked about before, but, what is the matterhorn like? I've been on the DL boards but haven'y had a lot of time. Some other board is keeping me runnin'

Hmm....how do you explain an original that has never been duplicated? Its a coaster with a lot of twists and turns, no big drops. Milder than Space or BTM but still fun. Kids love it.

My return trip to L.A. was delayed by a similar illness as Crash had.
Hope everyone gets better fast!! (Monica is one strong lady w/all she's been through!!)

Aw shucks. Thanks guys. I don't feel too strong at times. But when you're a single parent and there is no one else around, you just keep plugging along. I couldn't crash and burn since that would leave no one watching after my son. But it sure does take a toll, I think that may be partial blame for my own health plan!
