Found this interesting.
According to Julie's map we will come in right on this beach. We might rent jet skis and hang on the beach.
Also comforting comment on our zipline.

"In Cabo, there are plenty of places to rent right on Medano Beach (Cabo's main beach). Not sure about Puerto Vallarta, but I would use that port to experience a world class Canopy Tour (zipline through the tree tops). Los Veranos is probably the best."__________________

Paula, ya see this? You have an opinion on Los Veranos versus the one you were citing? It looked like you's offerred a BUNGIE JUMP and super swing across a canyon at 120 KPH ... but someone else said it offerred no shade so might be HOT? I do like the potential $50 per trio price... or might it be cheaper if we booked a group?

On another note, there was a vagrant man outside this McDonalds I was at for breakfast this morning... so on the way out I offerred him a bag of hot food ... which he (in a medium/neutral tone ) declined... and he quickly added... "I could use some money" .... . I paused a moment and waved in silent decline to that, and left. Was I right or wrong to do that? Once before I paused to talk to such a fellow, got to know a little about him then gave him a dozen or more "handyman or simple hand labor jobs" to do for me. He was not the fastest or most skilled but he could do some productive work. Alicia never liked it much because she probably thought ... "although older and mostly harmless, he might bring an unwanted element in his vagrant friends if he spoke of what he might see at our home, or something like that,... plus what if he hurt himself on a job at our home or one of our properties...". I tried to get him public support benefits - which was a mystery to me as I've had no prior experience with those things - and I still don't know much of how it works. Except to say my fellow whom I was trying to help could not get much help for some reason which I cannot recall now. AND, I once bailed him out of JAIL ... which thankfully he showed for his court date without my reminding him or helping him (he declined my early suggestion that I give a ride - and I extended a small bit of trust that he would not get drunk and miss his court date). Eventually he had a seizure of sorts on one of my jobs - no injury - but scary, I called paramedics. It was scary and complicated. In the end we moved from that home and I was further away from his usual haunts and when I had more work I had to travel too far to get him. Plus, his last seizure episode sort of discouraged me from using him for anything but the safest types of work. ALSO, it was always a moderate concern that he spent the majority of his pay on liquor and tobacco. My spouse asked if I was really doing him a favor... and I thought it was beter than nothing. Now I am hesitant to drop funds to a vagrant when I might donate to a church or charity where I'll have a better idea for how the proceeds will be spent / invested. So, I tend to only do food for such folks.

And I know... someone is going to quip that buying McDonalds breakfast food is probably no worse than Tobacco or Alcohol. ;)

Wow, that's amazing -- but I don't think the OP was talking about rogue waves . . . I've never felt unsafe anywhere on the ship at night. As for rogue waves, I probably have a much better chance of being hit by a city bus tomorrow, so I'm not going to worry about that!:rotfl:

Like the wave, I just really cant see where that response came from?

Real reassuring stuff, one minute wondering about if its safe to have a walk about on deck 10 at night, the odd drunk, the odd couple,..playing cards...and then a tsunami warning!

My dh and ds are interested in doing the outdoor adventure in PV, which is a DCL excursion. This was appealing to them because it also includes rappelling down or beside a waterfall, and the description says it is the "highest and longest zip line in all of Mexico".

My question......does anyone know what company this is with? Do you think DCL would tell me this info if I called? I would like to do some research on it before we book it. TIA!

I am leaning toward thinking this one is the same one we are going on. I thought I read it was the longest in Mexico. Maybe they reserve certain times for the cruise ships.

Wait a minute, I am trying to work up some sympathy for you..........NOPE can't do it.:rotfl2: JK. It is usually pretty darn cold here about now. Looking forward to the coming snow storm. I can send you some if you think it will help cool you down. :rotfl2:

Ha! I am going to whining up a storm in July when my electric bill is over $600.00 and I am still not cool.

You know, I never know what to do either. I used to carry fruit with me when I had to go to the office as I saw some on my way in. Got a wide variety of responses.
The girl in Utah, Elizaebth something, was kidnapped by a handy man her Dad was trying to help out. That cured me of even considering.

Stephen will like being called a normal child!

I know you are really trying to haggle out a glass for this forthcoming cruise, we will just have to see! But we had fun with Sallie and Jimmy, he is a perfect gent, a real real nice guy, I can remember him cracking up in the car, when Stephen was making some, pretend, restroom noises, he couldn't stop laughing, and he got everyone going,

Now Sallie, well Sallie, what could I say, I thought she was a bit shy and introverted. But you can tell them they can buy me a drink or two if you think they owe me!

Well, as you know, in December I got together with Sallie and Jimmy and a few other NYC-ish based Dissers from that cruise . . . some time in private I will have to tell you what was said about YOU!:goodvibes

I know I know, apart from being a bit modest, I am perfect!:thumbsup2

Are you still trying to convince DD she is not going???:rotfl2: Just for your info we have 8:00 pm. dining!!:cool1: We were booked for 8:15 from Pamela. Hope that is okay.

That was great Julie!! :woohoo: So is Cabo Wabo with in walking distance from the dock???:confused3

Well I was going to respond to this when I read on that saw that Stace had responded but I will add my 2 cents - its close enough to walk TO but definitely not to walk (assuming you can) back FROM. A taxi cost us about 4-6 dollars last time this was back in 2005 and a bicycly taxi - yes we did it - I was so ashamed - costs us 4 pesos - poor guy did all the work of taking DH and I up the hill past the docking pier. So I gave him tip just for the effort.

Also, to get to Medano Beach, you have to use a "water taxi"....which was literally a rowboat with a small motor. Getting down into it from the dock was a real trip. (yes, I tripped:guilty: )

This brings up a point - although I hope that they have it taken care of. DH and I spent a whole week there back in 2005. We were at one of the dockside restaurants when we saw one of those party boats come back. Well they dropped off the people there was a group of girls walking past the restaurant when all of a sudden one of the girls dropped from the walkway onto some sharp jagged rocks. She busted her head open really really bad. See the pier that runs all along does not have a fence to separate the walkway from the jagged rocks. Because of her intoxication - she literally dropped off the edge and got seriously hurt. This sparked a conversation with the table next to us as the man was a doctoer. Turns out he ran over to see if she needed help - which she did - (American totally intoxicated) and the ambulance was called. Docter said he was worried as it did not look pretty and she would be in pain when she woke up the next day. SOOOOOO... for those planning - please plan on having someone sober walk with you - think DW - Designated Walker/Driver if your planning on walking back. I TRULY hope they have this taken care of but let me tell you the image and the audio I have of her cracking her head open - its still with me 3 years later! Please be careful!

Crash, as you know, I live in Manhattan -- I have dealt with this issue for years (it was much worse in the 80's and early 90's, believe me). My way of dealing with it is to carry cards to give out that list all the local places people can get a free meal -- there are enough to cover any meal a person would want, believe me (and I and my girls have volunteered at many of them) -- and if I am going into a place where food is sold, asking the person if they would like something (I've bought one lady quite a few cups of hot chocolate in front of a nearby bagel place). HOWEVER, there is a guy near my apartment that I have occasionally given money to -- knowing it's almost certainly going toward alcohol or drugs -- and last Christmas season I gave him a scarf since he seemed cold. It is a VERY DIFFICULT situation for anyone with a conscience. It's so complicated that I couldn't begin to say what is the right or wrong way to deal with any one person who is asking for money on the street.

What I find funniest is that the person who posted the pictures and vivid description of the rogue waves (and subsequent deaths) was reading the cruise threads!!! What kind of mindset is that????:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I think you are as bored as I am today. I am just waiting for the cold and snow to come soon!!!:rolleyes1

Pretty cool Julie:goodvibes It doesn't look like Cabo Wabo is too far of a walk.

Cabo Wabo is up there where most of the better shopping is....in other words, there are a few booths right at the pier area but that's all.
It isn't a bad walk

Of course it depends on your tolerance for walking (I walk a LOT) but it looks like walking distance to me . . .

Yes, it may be a decent walk there, but back.....

One tequila...........

Two tequila................

Three tequila...............

We have that game too. I tried it. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I couldn't do it. Mark is really go at it. Bobby has the Rock Band and he and his friend play that. It is pretty addicting to get past each song. More power to your DD:banana: :worship:

Laura.....have you guys had any problems with Rock Band? My sister's kids got it for Christmas and they have already had to send the guitar back. My brother said he has read several reviews of instruments breaking. He said it was a lot of fun, though.

OMG!!!! The rogue waves were unbelievable!!! You might have saved my life!!!:worship: :worship: I was considering walking on deck four!!!:lmao:

Crash, I wont flirt with you, you can be fully assured, just very rich ladies who live in NY!

Funny thing, today some of my staff so a lady, dressed in something very short, not more than a belt, long boots, not a lot else.

She was tall, and they said she was my type and asked me to have a look,
I did and said, ''I think she is a he'' she as well as being very tall for a lady, strong jaw,was dressed too feminine in this cold snap.

Wow, Andrew, there are so many responses I could make to this post I think I'd better just be quiet and stay out of trouble (for once!) . . .

OK, I can't resist one comment -- the people you work with think your "type" is a trannie??????????:lmao:

So far so good. I haven't had any kid come complaining about it not working. I hope we don't have any problems.
