Just formatted your camera's memory card and forgot to download the pics first? Think your TOAL is ruined, think again......

I'll be bringing some S/W that will *attempt* to recover the images - I can't guarentee it, but it has worked sucessfully in the past.

I'll have a card reader that can take almost any format card, so if you think that your memory card is destined for Davey Jones' locker, drop by and I'll see what we can salvage.

I believe Shutters can do this too.

Yes, Shutters can do it. I accidentally deleted all of my pics one time. And then was stupid enough to do it again while in Turks and Caicos last year. I brought the card home and Ritz camera retrieved them for me. :headache:
 
Any chess players on board?

My DS11 - loves to play chess - he doesn't compete, isn't up to that level yet but he is taking some instructional classes and just enjoys playing

Any other children that may be interested in just getting together one day, informally, to play? I believe they have chess boards in one of the bar areas, which are open during the day for everyone

This can be discussed once onboard if that works better for everyone
I didn't want to set up another meet time or anything like that ahead of time as I am sure some people would like to just have some down time

We will be in room 6540 if anyone decides that they would like to play, give us a call

Made my lists a while ago, and have all my clothes hanging and ready to pack...except the ones I need for this weekend and also the trip for my niece's wedding. Have all of my "junk".....snorkel gear, backpack, things like doorstops and extension cords, etc...all piled up and ready. And YES....I had designed all of our door signs while I was doing the ones for the MR cruise, so all I had to do was print them. So I'm not panicked. Not to say I won't be eventually...but boy, am I glad I'd done so much ahead of time!! You just never know. My DH is always telling the kids "Work first, play later" and I guess it at least sunk into MY head. ;)
 
Maybe it was before instead of after...hmmm...my notes seem to have disappeared lately....trying to go from memory which ain't too good these days.

WHo would know for sure? If it is after..I will not be there as I have an appt. Originally it was 3p.m. and moved forward due to the drill is what I have but like everyone else..i am on planning overload! :rotfl:

But then...I don't remember....if you buy liquor in port, do you get to take it to your room or do they take it and give it to you at the end of the cruise?

If DCL does what cruise lines usualy do....they take it from you at the door and return it the night before...but maybe DCL does something different. :confused3
 
I put an email into the ups store nearest the airport..I asked if they had holiday hours...I will let you know what I find out!

Does anybody happen to have a copy of the cruise banner without the white or black background? I'm working on a door sign, and I'd look to put the banner on it, but still see the background picture behind it. I'm new to playing around with the image editing programs, so I'm not sure how else to go about doing it. :confused3

Everything I've read says that they take it from you and give it to you at the end of the cruise. But then again, I'm a newbie at this. :)
 
My DBIL used to send us tickets every year for Thanksgiving travel and we never used a credit card to check in.
cool- that's what I was thinking- that this probably happens a lot. And even if they want to be sticklers about it- his last name is the same as the last name on the credit card... obviously. :lmao:

My kids have landed in Sydney!!! :dance3: :dance3: I received a quick email from Samantha (17, dd) while they were at the airport -- she didn't say how she was able to email...I guess they had some sort of Internet cafe in the airport! LOL!

I'm so far behind but I"m trying! OMG I'm a bit freaked out because I also have to get ready for school- they'll be going the day after we get back (*the evening before) and they are already putting out the school supplies on sale in the ads and stuff. It's totally freaking me out. We leave on the 11th.....
Today I ATLEAST attempted to find magnet tape or paper- but all I could find is some magnetic picture pocket things at walgreens. I couldn't buy many though because they are expensive and now I have no idea how to make things just the right size to fit in these!
I gotta find magnetic tape. I saw it's online on staples (we have a staples but not office depot) but the reviews on it said it wouldn't stick! So that might be a waste of money same way I bought the magnetic stuff at the dollar store and had to return it.
I pulled out the rest of our suitcases (apparently not ALL of the mickey suitcases have the plastic inside all broke to bits. not sure why some are..) and started piling stuff (like FE stuff/etc.) in our formal dining area to start atleast THINKING about packing. Washing all the clothes and starting to put away some of them that are for the cruise and don't have to be worn again before the cruise... but that's all I accomplished today. I gotta get a move on! LOL

I need to work on figuring out some images and wording/etc. because Lisa so GRACIOUSLY offered to help me with it... just gotta figure out where to get the magnet for the images I'll print out. I don't want to have bare doors this time like last time! (last time we didn't have FE's either- this time we do though!)

Okay I better get off here and get cracking on this stuff. LOL
 
With our departure just one month away, I must admit my patience for being in GTY status is beginning to wear....

I keep having visions of being stuck in the lifeboats....

Sydney airport has free Internet PCs for travelers to use - I've used them a number of times :)

Can we please have a meet for Kiva and Kiva Friends members listed for this day - Plutos Dog House at 3.30 pm on this day to eat fries (in recognition of the year of the potato). If you aren't aware of Kiva, please check out Kiva.org. Myself, my Mum and Pdarrah family are all Kiva members and I am sure there are more out there or those that may be interest in doing a small part to end global poverty (Mexico included!) :)

Daily Activities - I'll be in Rockin Bar D just about every night, but time will be dependent upon what's scheduled. I think a daily DoD would be good to schedule, athough I won't be buying them. It would still be nice to know where to find some folks. Maybe at Signals? Or should we meet outside of the adult area?

Proposal:

Drink of the Day meet - 3 pm, Signals, daily
Ice Cream Social - 1 pm, Scoops, daily

Like I said, there might not be a big crowd, very few will go every day, but it is a time/place where you are likely to run into a few people.

Group Photo - I think we need one. Doesn't a time in between the early and late seating work out? Maybe on Pirate Night?? However I am not volunteering to arrange it with Shutters.

ITA. Any other interest?? Any volunteers to arrange this with Shutters???

Sailaway Meet and Greet - Wasn't that going to be right after the lifeboat drill? So about 4pm? Deck 10 Starboard (above Goofy's)?

I have no idea wha or even if it was decided.

Cabo Wabo - no real meet here, but many pirates will be stopping by after their various excursions.

Everything also says you can't bring water/alcohol onboard. They don't really enforce it. We've never had a problem buying alcohol in port and bringing it onboard & I've never seen it as a problem on the Dis.

Patch Swap

So I made a decision in order to ensure the information was printed in the Pirate Navigator. The patch swap will be held on the second sea day. Thursday, August 21st at 9:30am at the Promenade Lounge. I hope all the swappers can make it.

If not swaps can be dropped off at participants rooms. Or if you drop the patches with me ahead of time I will try to swap them for you at the event and then get them to you.

I chose the Promenade Lounge as I figured if the girls wanted to do badge work or whatever they could probably stay in the Promenade lounge to do that after the swapping is over.
