Todd,
The supermarkets carry alcohol and wine - so its not necessary to make a separate stop at a liquor store. But if you do - check out BevMo!!

Probably will check that out , as we are looking for speciality stuff like Dom Perigon and Don Julio 1942 , and usually liquor stores are the only ones to carry that stuff ...

Maybe check it out online before you go - so you don't have to run around looking for it!!

Don't forget we're getting back on Labor Day so any postal/shipping stores will more than likely be closed.

I just picked up a couple boxes at the Container Store to pack in our suitcases so we can have stuff shipped home once we check in at WDW - if we need to. For us it will be worth the little extra they'll likely charge at the resort vs. the time to seek out other arrangements.
I totally forgot about the holiday! Hmmmm....may have to rethink our packing strategies. Thanks for the reminder.

I believe BevMo has both. And I think you can "pre-order" online and then pick it up once you're here. I think I remember that from my FI searching for alcohol for our wedding. GL

That's an idea except there are bars back there. KWIM? Oh..... so DL isn't good enough huh? Would it matter that the card is in my name and his last name is the same? If it is a problem- I have no idea how we're going to work around it. We can't BOTH have the credit card in hand when checking in.. since I'll be flying on Monday with the kids and he'll be flying Friday night. :(

I think she means to put cardboard over the bars to make it sturdier. That is the same idea I had.

I have NEVER been asked for a credit card at the airline. I cannot imagine a scenario where you would need it. I am sure you will be fine without it. :thumbsup2

When the airline does want to see the card, it's not to identify the passenger, it's to make sure the card use was legit. On occasions when I ran into this problem, I just stopped by the airport ahead of the trip and showed them the card. If this is an issue, they only need to verify the cardholder before the trip - it doesn't have to be at boarding.

But it may not even be an issue - if it is, it will be flagged on the record and the agent should be able to tell you and help you resolve it ahead of time. You also should have been notified of this requirement during booking.

I had one case where I was traveling with a youth group and one of the parents had not done this (even though we had instructed every parent to check). I ended up having to pay for a new ticket (though the airline did honor the previous price) and get reimbursed later by the parent (who had the previous ticket value refunded to his card).

Hi Everybody,

Thanks for the good luck wishes. I think my interview went really well. Now I just have to wait and see, which is the hardest part.

I put an email into the ups store nearest the airport..I asked if they had holiday hours...I will let you know what I find out!

We've used the credit card for the do-it-yourself kiosk, but it can be any credit card... It's just used to look up your identity and only if you don't have the confirmation number (or are too lazy to pull out the paperwork)

Oh duh..... why didn't I think about OVER the bars? I'm stupid sometimes. LOL

That's what I was thinking- that I couldn't recall a time I had to show my credit card. I might have to call just to make sure BUT you're right- it should have notified me at the time of buying the ticket if the credit card had to be shown. I can imagine lots of times people buy tickets for other people using the tickets (family/etc.) and that means the person using the ticket wouldn't have the credit card used on their person! right? LOL

yeah, I've used the kiosk and didn't remember if I ever had to show the credit card...

This was on another thread and is by one of our Pirates, any ideas?

the Hyatt MCO has a business office that will fed ex (or some other carrier) a package for you. I shipped the snow globes & pirate swords after our last cruise.

Not sure if the office will be open on Labor Day.

My DBIL used to send us tickets every year for Thanksgiving travel and we never used a credit card to check in.

Todd,
So - I checked - BevMo has both Don Julio & Dom Perignon - and as Jen said you can pre-order and pick up at the store.

Can you get a better price for Tequila in Mexico?

Better price , probably ...but will I be able to find it ... Remember the Quest for Tequila last year ... Every port , and nadda ... Im not willing to chance even if it will cost me 5 bucks more ...LOL

I'm about to head out for my interview with Target. If anybody has any good luck to spare, please send some my way!

It seems weird to be interviewing for a job that I won't be licensed to do for another year yet.

Mike, I hope it went well for you

Yeah I've never had to actually show a credit card to anyone.

 Hi guys and gals!! What have I missed?

We've done all we can do at my friend's house for now. It's pretty much a total loss.
But the good news is that I hope to at least TRY to stay caught up here, in between trips. At least I'll be staying busy and hopefully not bouncing off the walls waiting for the cruise.:yay:

I'm sorry if I missed any birthdays or anniversaries.

My kids have landed in Sydney!!! :dance3: :dance3: I received a quick email from Samantha (17, dd) while they were at the airport -- she didn't say how she was able to email...I guess they had some sort of Internet cafe in the airport! LOL!

The Youth leader has sent out emails from both Korea & Sydney so, I haven't been with out any communication. ;)

DH has been looking online for pics, a friend called me to today to let me know that they showed people arriving in Sydney on the local news today. :goodvibes
DH said that he read that there are more people there for World Youth Day then were there for the Olympics

If anyone watchs EWTN When *Sisters For Life* are on this week (Wed?) our kids will be with that group.

Hello Everyone...........
I have missed this thread. Just so busy with work and Brooke, literally no time for anything else. I am so behind and at this point don't care what gets packed or not. We are just happy to be on ship.:) I haven't even started lists yet.:sad2:

Sorry if this has been discussed already...........Are people mailing boxes to the Hotel or Port?

I am almost finished with FE gifts and need to mail them. Thanks, Tina
