Hmmm if I would to try and " Ketchup " wonder if I would get the pirate: :rotfl2:

Happy Birthday & Happy Anniversaries to those that I have missed. :cheer2:

NameTags
Update and stuff....

So I took the advice of my pirate friends and adjusted our title to get it bigger (unfortunately due to size enlargement I had to go with a plainer font). I also made the Mickey Silhouette a bit smaller to fit the larger type (I went as small as I could with out compromising the image).

If you have not requested Name Tags yet please PM me with your Disname and real name and the members of your party and how they should be referred to on their tags (they can have just their names too). If you can add favorite characters and your room number that would be great as well!

Chrissie

Thanks Chrissie !!! Just sent you a PM. :goodvibes

Did I miss anything else?:confused3

Okay - here is the FE I made. Hope you all like it!!

WOW ! I really like your FE ! You did a GREAT job.:thumbsup2

Just formatted your camera's memory card and forgot to download the pics first? Think your TOAL is ruined, think again......

I'll be bringing some S/W that will *attempt* to recover the images - I can't guarentee it, but it has worked sucessfully in the past.

I'll have a card reader that can take almost any format card, so if you think that your memory card is destined for Davey Jones' locker, drop by and I'll see what we can salvage.

I believe Shutters can do this too.

Andy

Thank you for offering that Andy. :thumbsup2

I'm about to head out for my interview with Target. If anybody has any good luck to spare, please send some my way!

It seems weird to be interviewing for a job that I won't be licensed to do for another year yet.

I am late on wishing you luck. Hope it wen't well.:wizard:

hello everyone,

Where is the summer going? As I checked in today and realised how seriously behind we are in getting anything together for this trip!

Would like some thoughts. We are keeping the trip a complete secret until we arrive on the ship; however, I am sure she will want to participate in some of the kids events which have been dicussed. She knows we are going to California and Mexico for two weeks, so packing is not too much of a problem, but what other things should I be doing so she is not left out? Post cards? Pirate costume. Anything else?

She reads pretty well and gets the mail each day, so wish us luck in our secret keeping!

Marian
definitely postcards and pirate costume. Also princess night is the 2nd formal night-bunch of us wenches will be wearing tiaras with our formalsprincess:
Good luck with keeping it a secret:thumbsup2

Good luck:yay: :cheer2:

i was just reading an article that says 25 percent of people on vacation cant leave work behind. lets all leave it behind and have fun
That's the plan, hope I can:rolleyes1

Let's just suppose that we are blessed with PixieDust and get a cabin upgrade sometime before we leave town on Saturday 8/16. Should I keep it a secret from the rest of the family and surprise them when we actually check-in? Or should I let them know right away?:confused3

Well its up to you, currently ,for 2009 my family think we are in a Cat 4 again, but we are in a Cat 3 suite, I am seeing how long I can keep it a secret from them, so no one tell! I booked it in December 2007.

Try to keep the scret if the upgrade is nice.

I agree, if by chance we get one I'm hoping to keep it a secret:cool2:
Andrew, your family will be so thrilled:banana: I promise not to spill the beans:thumbsup2

Hey Guys! You guys were busy with the posts over the weekend. I came back from the swim meet and you guys had posted over 40 pages! :scared1:

The meet went well. Another mom and her son joined us for the ride over and her husband was able to come later that night and pick up my DH from work on the way, so he was at least able to watch the kids swim on Saturday and Sunday. DD swam 8 events and DS swam 7. The last two events for DD were the 200 m fly and 800 m freestyle. She swam the 800 m freestyle in a little under 14 minutes. Not too bad for the first time. She isn't really fast, but she loves the distance swims. DS took over 30 seconds off his time in the 100 Freestyle. On Saturday after the meet we were able to go back and enjoy the water park at the pool for about 3 hours. The kids both tried the flow rider and loved it. It was a great weekend, though very hot yesterday, in the high 90's. It breaks my heart that this might be our last meet as a team. The kids all get along so well and the families are all very nice.

So today, it is laundry, and we will be meeting a family that goes to DS's school that is going on this trip as well. Should be fun.

Happy Anniversary John and Cheryl.

The room was AMAZING Desiree. Next time they have a DVC event in California, could you let me know? I can use some airline passes from my DBIL and maybe come down. We would LOVE to stay there!

Off to planning!
Sounds like you had a good weekend! That was great that you had someone to ride with you and DH was able to make it!
Are you still on for the Pacific Science Center on Sunday? Not sure what time yet.

This is a drive by posting. Literally.... As soon as DH gets back from filling the van, I load the last of the stuff (my clothes - I'm was the last to get packed, of course!) and head off for Crater Lake.

Any one who wants to follow along on our wanderings... I've started a blog - thought I'd give it a try. You can find it at: http://EsterisWanderings.blogspot.com .

Enjoy!!!

ARGH!

I bookmarked it! Looks like she's near the CA/OR border now!

Patch swap & badge work Q's

What is the number count on this? Have ordered 12 patches, but already know I need more. My final date for ordering is tomorrow - has the deadline for sign ups passed? Want to ensure all participating get a patch (these are the divisional patches for the division Lauren is a Brownie in).

I'm also guessing that most people swapping will also be taking part in the badge work. Have looked at Lauren's badge book & identified elements for her to complete. So, she needs to learn a song from another country. All other elements can be covered by swapping patches, e-mails (which is already happening), taking some photos & completing the kids journal.

Hi Everybody,

Thanks for the good luck wishes. I think my interview went really well. Now I just have to wait and see, which is the hardest part.
I'm sure you did great:goodvibes

 Hi guys and gals!! What have I missed?

We've done all we can do at my friend's house for now. It's pretty much a total loss.
But the good news is that I hope to at least TRY to stay caught up here, in between trips. At least I'll be staying busy and hopefully not bouncing off the walls waiting for the cruise.:yay:

I'm sorry if I missed any birthdays or anniversaries.
Hey Stace, glad the work with the house is done:hug:
We're all panicking about lists and stuff:lmao:
Do you have your door signs ready;)

Hello Everyone...........
I have missed this thread. Just so busy with work and Brooke, literally no time for anything else. I am so behind and at this point don't care what gets packed or not. We are just happy to be on ship.:) I haven't even started lists yet.:sad2:

Sorry if this has been discussed already...........Are people mailing boxes to the Hotel or Port?

I am almost finished with FE gifts and need to mail them. Thanks, Tina

Hey Tina:yay:
I just started my lists (packing and to do) a few days ago. Try calling your hotel to see if they will accept packages for you:confused3 I'm gonna try that tonight:confused3

Hi Everyone,

Been a very busy few days! The day of the mini-meet (Saturday) the weather was threatening to be bad, so DH and I hopped up early and worked on de-cluttering the house. At noon, I took DS9 over to the festival (our local Railroad Days which was the reason for the fireworks in the evening) because they were doing "wristbands" for the carnival. This means you buy a $17 wristband and can then ride all the rides as many times as you want during a set time. It was from noon to 5 and I told DS we could only stay until 2 since I needed to get back to help DH finish getting ready for the meet. Just as we were leaving at 2, our next door neighbors showed up with their kids and said DS could stay with them - so he rode carnival rides from noon to 5pm with only a slight break for a snack! We managed to have the house ready by 4pm for the meet, so of course, the weather turned around and was nice. We ended up taking a table outside and eating there. It was tons of fun! :thumbsup2 After dinner, we went over to the park and set out our chairs and blankets for the fireworks. (Susan & Scott (Geffric & DH) had to leave) My DH (who is a total pushover with kids) took DS and Tina's DD (DownriverMama's DD10) to the carnival and bought them some tickets for a couple rides. Cheryl, Tina & Tracy watched the Mickey Dolenz concert while John, Scott & I chatted and kept our fireworks spot safe. Everyone trickled back in time for the fireworks show. It was a late night - but I think we all had fun! (I'll post a few photos once I pull them off the memory card - we didn't remember to do a "group photo" so I don't have a single picture with everyone)

Sunday was busy with more local festival stuff. We have a big parade (takes about 1.5 hours) and everyone socialized up and down the street and then we went to a friends house for a cookout in the evening.

I thought I would have a chance to Ketchup at work today - WRONG! I took last Friday off and came in to piles of stuff to do. It took me all day to start getting it under control. Makes me wonder what it will be like after I am gone 2.5 weeks!

Hopefully, tomorrow will be less crazy. Now, I am going to get DS to bed and then go take a nice hot bubble bath! :goodvibes

It would never be able to be a secret in our house! Both DH and I are constantly checking the reservation to see if we are out of the lifeboats yet! We could keep it a secret from the girls though!

My kids have landed in Sydney!!! :dance3: :dance3: I received a quick email from Samantha (17, dd) while they were at the airport -- she didn't say how she was able to email...I guess they had some sort of Internet cafe in the airport! LOL!

The Youth leader has sent out emails from both Korea & Sydney so, I haven't been with out any communication. ;)

DH has been looking online for pics, a friend called me to today to let me know that they showed people arriving in Sydney on the local news today. :goodvibes
DH said that he read that there are more people there for World Youth Day then were there for the Olympics

If anyone watchs EWTN When *Sisters For Life* are on this week (Wed?) our kids will be with that group.
I thought of you and your kids today! I read in the newspaper that the Pope had arrived in Sydney!

OK - DS9 is still eating dinner (the kid is eating like a horse lately!) so I have a few more minutes here!

I think I promised this a few days ago and then got busy, busy, busy. I have the "large" versions of each of the door magnets for those who need a higher resolution.

Thanks!

I don't have the info right in front of me, but I believe it is supposed to be tomorrow. M (sk8ingmom) & I are going to be working on the Navigator, but everything is being sent to her (too confusing to have it going two places!). Send her a PM....

Oops! M posted as I was typing. What she said....

OK - I'm really going now (going to drag DS out of the shower, stuff him into bed and go take that bubble-bath!!!)

If anyone watchs EWTN When *Sisters For Life* are on this week (Wed?) our kids will be with that group.

Our Youth minister put a big write up in the bulletin yesterday about the conference and referenced it being live on EWTN how cool! We have no one from our parish attending that I am aware of, San Diego hosts Steubenville in two weeks which is highly attended by our youth group. This will be my boys' second year attending. Did any of your kids ever attend Steubenville? 5,000+ teenagers mostly from the Western US all here for the same purpose is truly awe inspiring. I am afraid to tell the boys about a world wide conference, they would want to go ::yes::

Glad you heard from your DD and all is well.

Michelle

I think she means to put cardboard over the bars to make it sturdier. That is the same idea I had.

I have NEVER been asked for a credit card at the airline. I cannot imagine a scenario where you would need it. I am sure you will be fine without it. :thumbsup2

Coral

The only time I need a credit card is if I use the computer kiosk to self check in. And even then, it wasn't required, I could have swiped my credit card, my passport, or manually enter my confirmation number.

So far...

A few general comments-

Do we want to add some consistent daily activities? Cove Café evening meet? Rockin’D dance on the bar? Afternoon ice cream social? Drink of the Day meet in the afternoon?? Obvioulsy not everyone would participate every day, but you would know that if you head to XXX location at XX time you are likely to run into a few pirates.

I now some of the missing info isn’t available yet.

If you are a task force leader, please PM sk8ingmom and pdarrah with your cabin number as soon as you are out of the lifeboat. You will be the communication hub for you activities. Any updates or reminders should be posted on you cabin door.
