Favorite DCL moment was DS8 (then 3) meeting Cinderella. Every time we saw her on the ship he would say "Mom, there's Cinderella. She's beyooootiful!" When he finally got to meet her on the last night of the cruise, he said something to her. She didn't hear him, so she bent down to his level. He asked why she was there instead of in her castle. She said "Becuase I wanted to be here with you" & flicked him on the nose when she said "you". DS8 just went "AAaaaahhhh" and almost fell over backwards! Magical.

Look at him, he's trying to be all cool.

That is such a wonderful story - so funny and so cute!

So then I have had others on this board help me, got designs off this thread, Lisa made me some, found my laminator machine in the attic, bought laminating stuff today and magnet tape from Staples, printed them out, laminated them (not all of them- just a few so far) and THE DARN MAGNET TAPE WON'T STICK TO THE LAMINATED PICTURES!
It sticks "sorta" but it wouldn't take much for the laminated signs to fall right off and I'd end up with a door full of pieces of magnets (only) all over it. with door magnets on the floor of the hallway?

sigh.
How are people getting this magnetic tape to stick? *sigh sigh sigh*
someone doesn't want me to have door magnets!

I used advertising fridge magnets that people like the plumber gave us and used packing tape to stick them to the laminated pics. So far they have stuck ok.

yep, I'm just taping the magnetic tape on there! (see my last post- it was probably posted the same time you were posting! LOL)

So my magnets might not be the best in the world but ATLEAST we have something on our doors this time! Last time our doors were bare! LOL
Some of them have hidden mickeys too. So come on by and see if you can find all the hidden mickeys I put in some. ;)

I'm looking forward to walking the corridors (no... I'm not that kinda girl :rotfl: ) and checking out the door art. I suspect our ones will look pretty dull!

Robert is working on some NZ theme ones to go with my Disney ones.

28 sleeps until we leave... but at least I have my bag packed!

Told husband to get everything ready while I am gone this AM.... lets see how much her can do!!:confused3

I just bought roles of magnet stripes for my door decorations. For one I have no clue how to make a pix with our names on them... and two.. cant find magnet paper besides from ebay..

Our last cruise we had a member named SHIRLEY on board and she made me the most beautiful pooh bear signs... and they were 3D as well... I wish she was coming along again...:worship:

Roger!

Way cool costume. I like the detail and colors and vest.

Remember your not allowed to speak while in costume.

I was thinking the same thing. Perhaps he needs to learn to throw his voice to have the parrot speak?

It is a great costume as all the homemade ones posted on here have been.

We love going out to the port to see the ships off. Captured this one when the Wonder had just come back from drydock and the Magic was heading out. The horn blows 3x and the Wonder was to return but someone said they blew the fire horn? instead. sorry about the rocking but I had to stand out on the dock to get it and it was rough that day.

WOW! I was on the Magic that day! We had a baby with us so I stayed on the verandah with him while DH and the girls went to the sailaway. It was Magical to hear the ships exchange greetings! What a treat to relive it, thank you!

Honey, I run a day-care full of toddlers & pre-schoolers (and when I'm lucky an infant :lovestruc ) - I'm really good at "toning out what's going on around me" when I have to :rotfl: :rotfl:

Seriously, no worries, I love the sound of kids being kids.

What a relief! Thanks! I hope you get that "they're not my responsibility" feeling which can be just so satisfying when they're not. :)

Looking forward to meeting you!

We also got our cabin assigbment yesterday. We're in #6003 and I here it's quite a good cabin.

Also booked the Segway for Saturday morning in California Adventure.

Just need our luggage tags and we're done.

Just a little matter of packing now.

We are close, right up the hall, 6036. We also booked Segway for Saturday morning, so I guess we will see each other there.

Can't wait for those cruise docs!!!

DH & I had the unpleasant task yesterday of trying to figure out how much to budget for this cruise for costs (spa, excursions, palo, tips) once we board.

:scared1: :scared1:

Maryann - I hear ya! I have been working on that for the last couple of weeks....This is our 3rd cruise with Disney and the others have only been a week. Now I also have a 21 year old DD and the other is 18, so there goes my bar bill and my spa bill and my Palo bill.....need I say more :confused3

Now I am just trying to figure out how to pack with all these luggage restrictions...

You're not the only one! I ended up gluing mine on.
I just taped mine on. And instead of using the 2nd expensive roll of magnetic tape (yes, I plan on returning that one LOL) the lightbulb finally went off due to someone else's post and I started cutting up some of the BAZILLION magnets we have on our fridge from various businesses, etc. and taping those on! geesh why didn't I think of that sooner? LOL

penny for your thoughts please

Just curious what everyone's thoughts are on this. Well on these 2 issues.
Okay #1
Concerning the age changes... I'm still not keen on my eldest being in the teen section and BEFORE I realized it wasn't up to 14 in the OC I'd mentioned that to her- and now she thinks she's in the OC age group and doing the activities /not hanging out in the stack/etc. ARe they gonna let me put her down with 11-13yr olds? Trust me not a problem with her getting along with them and enjoying the activities....... just not sure if they'll let her and then she'll be disappointed with the "hanging out" in the stack. She's not a hang out kind of person. LOL
But do they really do lots of activities in the 11-13 age group I wonder? Like they did with the 10-12 age group she was in last time?

If I let her go to the teen group and she's just totally miserable- do you think they'd let her switch to the younger age group? Would you suggest trying that first as it might be harder to switch to teen group (since everyone says that first night is a "do not miss" in order to make friends/etc. in the teen group) later for some reason- than it would be to maybe switch to younger group if she's just having a totaly boring time in the teen age group?

Okay #2
Your thoughts on putting my barely just turned 8yr old (youngest DD) in the club instead of the lab?
Couple of reasons.......
A) she's just barely turned 8
B) she's small for her age- not that size matters but she just tends to gel better with kids her age or younger, not OLDER kids up to age 10. yanno? For instance she's all excited to see Claire again but she won't be with her- Claire is 7 and will be in the club! She was NOT pleased when I explained that to her. :(
C) she'll be in the same age group as her brother... okay so my kids aren't lovely little angels and the younger two ESPECIALLY don't always get along so great. At the time we booked I thought she'd be mostly grouped off with 8-9yrs old and he'd be with 10-12 but now that's all changed and they'll be together.
D) she still just likes the type of things they would do in the club and not sure she'll like the activities in the lab that would relate to older children up to age 10...... the stuff they did in the lab on the last cruise interested my older two but would not interest my daughter, even now- so if they do the same type of stuff (ie: both still have similar activities for the same ages as before) she's not gonna dig it so much. My son will have a blast- but she will probably be less inclined to spend time in the lab as she would in the club.

So what do you think? Should I put her down in the club or in the lab with the big kids plus her brother?? It seems to me that she wouldn't be out of place in the club- she hasn't changed much in things she likes to do/etc. -she likes all the stuff she liked when she was in the club before- and it seems to me that there are probably going to be quite a few kids that are basically "her age" but maybe a month or two younger than her (therefore still 7). And she's little for her age too- so it's not like she'd be towering over 7yr olds... that's for sure. (ie: she's STILL wearing the same princess 2pc swimsuit she wore on the last cruise...... 2yrs ago...... size XS .... yesterday she wore some shorts she's had for years and I kid you not- they are SIZE 24MO SHORTS. Apparently she still has the same hiney size as a toddler? LOL)

What say you, pirates?

So we get in on the Thursday before the cruise, and have a morning flight, I think we get in at 9 something. I'm looking for a rec for lunch at either one of the hotels or downtown disney for lunch. Anyone have any suggetions or favorites?
