At this point we are. We have a 5K Fun Run/Walk for our pool in the morning and I am not exactly sure what time that will end. Based on which ferry we can catch, we will probably be over there some time between 1-2. That is my hope at least.
OK, sounds good! We are actually going to Cle Elum Saturday afternoon/night to meet Esteri and then all of us go into Seattle. We'll have to call each other Sunday to coordinate!

My DD's boyfriend is a cop and after all we've been through in the last week, I told him that I NEVER want to be either a cop or a firefighter. He just graduated from the academy and was bummed that my DD and I had seen a crime scene before he has. I told him I would have traded that "honor" with him any day.

 My DH has seen quite a few & I know it has really affected him. :guilty:

Just the opposite for me. I Have been a Gene Wilder Fan every since I first saw WW. The next movie I saw him in was Bonnie & Clyde. Played a totally different character.

Love Johnny Depp, just not how he played WW. Couldn't get past the teeth - they just creeped me out :rotfl:

What do you mean????

Mu ha ha ha haaaaaaa....

Yeah and also 10 hours on a 3 day.... Does something sound a bit strange to anyone??

Yes it does seem very odd.

We're still doing the cliff divers too... That seems to be THE thing to see there.

;)

Hey I didn't mean any disrespect by what I said (someone quoted me). I don't envy the job or the families... Overall I have a lot of respect for Police and firemen. I do lose some respect with how much I see an officer doing 90 on the interstate or speeding through other areas without lights/sirens though...

Terri I know you didn't mean anything by it. Like Laurie said, there are good & bad in every profession so I'm going to sit here & say all cops are perfect, but just keep in mind that things are not always as they appear. For instance when I read what you said about the police speeding without lights & sirens to DH, he said that it is actually SAFER for them & everyone around them to do that. He said that when they put those lights & sirens on people actually slam on their breaks & they can manuever around people much easier when they are moving along. :confused3

He also said that the police are not so much above the law as they are exempt from many laws that citizens are forced to obey for safety reasons. I.E. no seatbelts due to their duty belts with handcuffs, gun, radio, etc. & use of cell phones, speeding, traffic lights etc.

But hey we can take the grief just like our resident attorneys Tom & Chris & I'm sorry I don't know who else, but they hear it all here too!

Whew....big post...tried to edit out so I only have the stuff I wanted to comment on....

Daily Activities - I'll be in Rockin Bar D just about every night, but time will be dependent upon what's scheduled. I think a daily DoD would be good to schedule, athough I won't be buying them. It would still be nice to know where to find some folks. Maybe at Signals? Or should we meet outside of the adult area?

Group Photo - I think we need one. Doesn't a time in between the early and late seating work out? Maybe on Pirate Night?? However I am not volunteering to arrange it with Shutters.

Sailaway Meet and Greet - Wasn't that going to be right after the lifeboat drill? So about 4pm? Deck 10 Starboard (above Goofy's)?

Never saw anyone step up for the wine and cheese. I say take it off the schedule.

Cabo Wabo - no real meet here, but many pirates will be stopping by after their various excursions.

I meant to quote this MUCH earlier today, but I just wanted to say that I will also be in Rockin Bar D just about every night I can. Last cruise we hardly made it in there, but this time I'm determined!

ITA about taking off the wine & cheese too. I thought about taking that on, but I think we have enough stuff planned especially with all the tastings which include wine.

We're hoping to hit Wabo! :yay:

Unfortunately cops aren't the only ones with those joys. :sad2:

OK, I'm used to steerage...you have a front door???
:rotfl2:
As opposed to the garage door? Side door? What???
Now I have door envy.

Ha I think I actually snorted Mikes through my nose! :lmao:

Is there a little voice in anyone else's head saying

Marco...

PALO!

every time this waiter's name and his place of employment are mentioned in the same sentence??

Um I was trying to keep those little voices a private thing between myself & the voices, but if you really have to know....YES! ::yes::

Hi Gang,

Just a thought - did anyone other than Pamela & myself get tea reservations for 8/21 - it makes it easier to roll these over for the Wench's and make it easier for Palo to accomodate our group!

Nope sorry but tea was the one thing I could NOT get. I'm depending on your Chris! :worship:

Thanks to everybody who tried to help me with the pirate banner logo last night. I ended up pirating the one on the Pirate Zone message boards!

Here's the sign that I came up with:

Very very nice Mike! :thumbsup2

Uh, Captain... the person who told you that we had to drill a canal through the boat in order to go through the Panama Canal was just kidding...

Hmmm last i left it.... I hung up on her after she insulted me. I'm thinking I'll take a lesson from someone around here and just leave her out of our lives for now. It's all for the better....

It will be the best thing you ever do for yourself and your family. :thumbsup2

Sorry to run this again but just in case:

OK...first off..let me start with a disclaimer! If we do not reach the total number needed (100) - I will not be able to do this...

I am getting PM's that people are still looking for lanyards..the last order took 3 weeks to get so we are cutting this close...if you would like to order lanyards...send me a PM and I will add you to the list. Your cost will be $1.50 - $2.00 (depends on the count) (sorry - I know prev they were 1.00 but that was because we went over 250 and I don't see that happening again)

I can only take orders until this Thursday night - I have to order by Friday to get the lanyards in. Keep your fingers crossed and thoughts of pixie dust that these come in quick and correct!

So...I am taking one more lanyard order... and wil let you know if I was able to place the order..we would need to get to 100 and I am currently at 18 so I am not promising anything.

I need in your PM the total amount you need (please consider $2 each so that if is less -- you are happier!) and your cabin number (if you are gty - please send as soon as your have) the lanyard includes a plastic pouch for your name tag/KTTW card

If anyone wants any extra who already ordered in the first round..please feel free to order additional.

Sounds good! Have fun in Cle Elum. The pass was so pretty last weekend. Blue sky, beautiful moutains, those are the times I love it here!

Hi Gang,

I thought I'd post the roster of those who are interested in the Wench's Tea.
FYI - I will go to Palo as soon as I embark and give them our request of 8/21 as 1st choice and 8/27 as 2nd choice. It should take them at least one day to get back to me. I will then phone everyone.

Don't see my name on that list....guess I don't need to run to Rockin Bar D with you when we board?

Cruise related question:

I booked a dummy ressie on board. We received a 100.00 OBC.

We then transferred our ressie to Dreams and received the 400. OBC...

I was told I would have both? Was I misinformed? Because online it online shows 400.00

Thanks

I'm not with Dreams, but I believe that their website will only show you what they've given you. DCL has the info on any additional.

Desiree does, but she wasn't on your list

I think I am going to need another door for all of these magnets! Anyways...Richard found a cute backround from Cars and I did this one for our anniversary..

Okay - plan on running w/me regardless - but I thought you passed on the tea. I thought we only booked it so the Wench's Tea would work???? Neither Lori nor I are having tea. Confused again!

A former co worker of mine for halloween dressed like one..he was short and goofy looking so he REALLY looked like one!!! Scared some of the kids!

When Brendan and I talked about getting married and he was asking "engagement ring" questions...I said it was a forever ring and it means something to me...I would never think of changing it...

When we went to pick out our bands he must have remembered that conversation because he said get exactly what you want because it will last forever!:lovestruc So I did! And I can't wait to wear it!

I was going to go today to the craft store but I was able to hold myself back...going out with my Best Bud to go makeup shopping (she is a bridesmaid and doing my wedding makeup)..so it will be shopping and dinner and...beverages!

Chrissie
Why is it that wedding shopping, planning, etc. must always be followed by "beverages?" Don't we realize that those "beverages" add to the waist line? Guess I should take my own advice and not pour myself another "beverage." :rolleyes1 ;)

I think we will see a lot in the next 24 hours,

CAT 3 please DCL.:confused3
:worship: :worship: :worship: Please...upgrade....please... :worship: :worship: :worship:

As a cop's wife I am going to jump in here and share my 2 cents. Although yes there are somethings that you see officers do that seem unfair, and even I have thought the same, they are far from having it made. In the 13 years that my husband has been an officer he has mostly worked in jails, courts, or on the streets. He has seen a 2 year old whose mother was visiting at the jail, hit and dragged along the street. He has had to listen to another mother who was there visiting her boyfriend who had killed their toddler, tell him that he was just having a bad day. He was injured the first day of the job having to restrain an inmate, he was kicked in the head, lucky for him they wear flip flops. He at one point has thought he was going to have to shoot a father threatening his family with a knife, in front of his children, luckily that didn't happen. He knows that the people that he is arresting have more rights than him. And so on and so on....but the worst was in the first year as an deputy having to attend the funeral to one of his friends that was killed in the line of duty leaving behind a wife and a 2 year old. Not to mention the many holidays, birthdays, and family events he has had to miss because of his work hours.

Yes he chose his line of work, knowing that he is in probably in the eyes of society the most hated of all professions. Even though we are very proud of him, unlike a firefighter, or doctor, I cannot put on my license plate, I LOVE MY COP, well I could, but have this thing about not being shot at or having my property damaged. My kids only tell their close friends that dad is a cop, son was harassed when in 2nd grade when he told everyone his daddy was a deputy.

So before judging think about what the circumstances may be. Is it that the if the cell is hooked up to a bluetooth it may mess with computer equipment that is in the car? No lights and sirens may mean that there is a crime in progress and they don't want the criminals hearing that they are coming.

Oh and by the way :lovestruc I LOVE MY COP!!!:lovestruc only place to yell it loud and proud and still be safe.;)
