groglistjpg640x480jt1.jpg

As ye can see, me list still has room for some fortunate (unfortunate) wench or swabbie (or I'll have to reduce the point size lol)

Drink up me harties, yo ho!

Andy

Would anyone like to volunteer to make a list of the "open house" Verandah's for canal day? Hopefully, M & I can squeeze this info into the Pirate Navigator if someone can put together a list for us...

It sounds like the "if the door is open, stop on in" version is the most popular.

Wonder where I can buy a door stop to keep the door open ....

Pamela

I've got a list and I'm checking it twice ;)

Andy

But I am on it too and pirates tell no tales.;)

Evening all. Doing a quick ketchup. DD and I just finished watching "Water Horse". Nice summer evening movie.

Six weeks (can you believe it) from now we'll be watching Fantasmic. :cool1:

Upgrade question for those of you who have been lucky to receive one in the past. Does DCL call before they upgrade or do they just do it? Reason for my question is that we're going out of town next week and are still GTY. Don't want to miss that important call. If you have a TA - do they call the TA or you?

Also, Arlene or someone familiar with the toll booths between the Port and WDW - explain how it works and cost. Just want to be prepared.

My up-grade came via phone call 3 weeks before our first cruise. I was not home for the call and they just stated my new room number and change the tags on my transfers to the right room number. I was angry at first because I was a CAT8 on deck 7 (I only wanted deck 7) but they gave me mid-ship in a Cat 5 on deck 7. .:yay: :dance3: That is where we have been staying ever since. :rolleyes1 DCL knew what they were doing.;)

Good Morning Everyone !
We picked up Brooke last night and to our surprise.............My neighbors put signs up all around the streets. This was waiting by our front door to see.:goodvibes There was a balloon hanging on it, that was taken off before pic. taken. We were up late last night and now waiting for Brooke to get ready so we can start our day.:yay:

Give Brooke a big  for me.

San Pedro currently 62F/17C foggy going up to 76F/24C partly cloudy.

Anaheim currently 66F/19C clear going up to 85F/29C.

Finally warmer here that in Anaheim. Goint to be 87!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

CRUISE TIP

As I was walking home tonight, I was thinking of the last cruise and a thought came through from the past.

The Tip is on this long cruise to go regularly to guest services for a printout of your stateroom account. Do not leave it to the end as there will be a long printout and you might miss something.

On my last Repo, after the first week I asked for a printout and found a few items that were not mine.

There was some drink orders in the Bars late at night when we knew we were not there.

I asked Guest services to check these and they were made by the 'paper' receipts not KTTW card.

Firstly DCL said they were mine in my name, but I insisted they were not.

A day later I was called to guest services to 'see' my 'bills'.

The bills were made out with the same surname as myself, and I clicked quite quickly what had happened, there was another family with a Cat 4 the same as us just down from us.

They had ordered these drinks and when guest services checked the signature it was the other party and they refunded my account.

So do check, mistakes occur and on a long cruise you might forget what you have or have not ordered. And it takes DCL some time to sort out and correct.

Thanks for the tip Andrew! We'll definitely check ours frequently.

I didn't know the Denver area had a Lego store...... I'ld rather go to Denver then Houston! :rotfl: And 10ds favorite Aquarium is in Denver....and my favorite Chirldren's museum......

If he loves American history then Philidelphia is a fantastic place to go!! The *birth place* of our country!!!

Do the *Spirit of America* ABD!!!! :yay: :yay: They are running specials right now......

Mt Rushmore is COOL! We took the kids there about 4 or 5 yrs ago. One night while watching tv there was a comercial for South Dakota and dh & I looked at each other and said *We've never been there!* So, a few months later we were there! :)

Yes, Denver has a Legostore, but it's small compared to the one at Downtown Disney at WDW (about 1/3 of the size). The one in Denver is located at Colorado Mills shopping center just as you go into the mountains. It's close to I-70 and Colfax. The best thing about having it in Denver is taking advantage of the stamp cards for discounts, as well as the special events they have throughout the year.

Philadelphia is a great idea to add to an East Coast trip. I'd love to tour Independence Hall, and Deryk's already talked about wanting to see the Liberty Bell.

We spent 10 days over spring break 2006 up there because DH was completing his graduate internship at the NTSB. I even took the kids into the district for 12 hour days on my own via the Metro. They loved it!!! We stood in line early to get Capitol tour and Washington Monument tickets. They were 5 and 7 at the time and wanted to move up there because they loved the museums so much. We want to go again in a couple years and do more that we didn't get to like the US Mint.

We have a US Mint here in Denver, but have yet to take the kids.

Torture. This diet is killing me...how many more days til we leave???

And if you wander around that album, lots of WB pictures...... (I'm Innocent!)

Also, that is the type of album we are looking for the pirate sharing site.

Great idea for an album to share pics after the TOAL!

I've seen frequent tips to bring bungee cords or rope to keep the doors to connecting rooms open. Not sure why, because we took that advice on the last cruise and the room steward just gave us door stops that worked quite well. When I've responded to these tips on the main board, I've been told that door stops weren't always available or didn't work properly.

What has been your experience with keeping doors to the connecting rooms open? Bring your own door stops/bungee cords or depend on Disney?

DH, Belleisthebest, kept asking me what was going on on the DISboards all the time, so I told him to join and he could keep up. I said that many had the same warped sense of humor he did and he would fit right in. :lmao:

Anyway, last night, we were watching Steel Magnolias and that quote came on. (Yes he will watch chick flicks with me sometimes.) I didn't remember anyone posting it and he hadn't made his first post yet, so that is what he chose. He actually scored some points yesterday by helping us make FE gifts. We were handing out Save Our Pool flyers and making our FE gifts at the same time. It helped the time pass and we got some projects made. Great responses from all of you. I was laughing so hard I was crying. He will feel so welcome when he gets up and reads them. :cool1:

I can't believe only 6 more weeks. We are getting so excited!

I keep checking for our cabin number, but nothing yet either.

So I didn't really get caught up -- what do I have to do to get on the list???;)

Dang it, I didn't make the Steel Magnolias connection! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Too funny...and I knew instantly that he fit right in.

I bring a rubber door stop. I don't want to count on the room steward to have an extra or not. And if I use my own, they get the message that I want the door open, and won't remove the stopper & shut the door.

I also like to prop open the bathroom door after showers, to let it cool off in there, and de-fog.

In a pinch, we've used a tennis shoe to prop doors.

Probably a boring story.....but I do love Steel Magnolias.

Before the 2 younger kids were born, I played softball on an all-girl team. My hubby was our sponsor, so we had to design shirts. He works with steel....ornamental iron, etc....so of course our team was named "The Steel Magnolias".
:thumbsup2

Perfect, I love it! That movie is truly one of my favorites. The kids were watching it last night too and loved the part "hit Wheezer".

Were your shirts blush or bashful in color?

:lmao: :lmao: Piglet pink, if I recall.

My kids really wanted to do the ATV trip but Disney has a pretty high age limit. I found an ATV ride for beginners that will take riders starting at age 12. Here is the link.

https://secure.shoretrips.com/common/search4.asp?rcode=MEX&lcode=CAB&tcode=011615

I got them through ShoreTrips.com which we have used on previous cruises and been really happy with. You cannot make the morning time but the 11:30 time gets us back to the boat at 4:00pm which should be just in time for a 4:30 All a Board.
