How many of you are bringing a laptop?

... I was thinking of bringing my NOTEBOOK plus an outlet repeater strip to handle all the electircal items we're bringing:

Notebook computer charger
Shaver
DSLR Camera battery charger
Fuji battery charger
Canon battery charger
Sony DVD Camcorder Battery charger
DVD Player
Nite light
ZUNE loudspeaker and charging cradle (maybe?)
Vitamixer (Nawww!)
Plus Alicia's AC powered stuff!

Congrats on the stateroom assignment! I've been checking my ressie every day, but it still just says Guarantee. Hopefully soon.

We're also still gty.

Had today off work as it was my Grandmother's funeral. Lauren was insistent upon coming & did really well. I'm not sure what she was expecting, but she stood on the pew at the chapel to get a better look! We keep telling her how lucky she was to have had & to remember her Great-Grandma.

All our FE gifts have arrived so last night Lauren & I started labelling them and sorting into decks & trying to match them to the occupants - obviuosly only a half finished job as so many of us are still gty.

Off to Cyprus tomorrow for 3 days delivering some computer audit training to the Cypriot VAT officers. Also an opportunity to catch up with former colleagues & friends from when we were posted there 11 years ago, so plaese don't talk too much as I won't start ketchup until Thursday

good evening everyone! i don't have time to read back thru the posts right now, sooooo.....
happy birthday to those celebrating and prayers for those that need them!
hope everyone has a great weekend! today was my friday as i am off tomorrow!!! yippeeee.....but not really! i needed to take the day off cuz both of my boys are going to surgery for ear tubes. this is oldest ds's 9th or 10th time!!! and youngest ds's 2nd time. youngest one will also be havind adenoids removed. i'm glad they are getting this all taken care of before the TOAL! both of my boys are very prone to ear infections...and i'm sure that even having the tubes, we'll still end up with an infection or two while onboard.
i guess i'd better get going since we have to be at the hosp by 7am!! have a great nite!!!

I couldn't get on DIS all morning and then when I try reading our thread it makes no sense. Am I in the Twilight Zone? Is this the Tower of Terror? I don't have a clue what is going on, but maybe that isn't too unusual.

Maybe this will end up on page 105. Good luck to all trying to follow what is going on. I am lost and will just smile and nod.

Wow, Kuwait. DH earned his Gulf War ribbon watching CNN in the day room at the Academy. Seriously, his class called it the CNN ribbon.

In all fairness, he's spent more time in the Persian Gulf than most of the rest of the Coast Guard. Ask him about the rudder falling off a Navy destroyer as they slowly drift into United Arab Emirates territorial waters.

Do we have a meeting time and place for military story hour? Will it be in the DIS Navigator?? Sign ups??? Poll????

My dh will definitely want to attend.

I'm bringing my laptop. My daughter couldn't live without it . I blogged my Europe trip last summer and my friends at work made me promise to do it again so they can live vicariously through me!

I've used it a couple times when I feel a cold coming on.

Actually, the absolute best thing to do when you feel a cold coming on is to start taking Code-Eeze. It contains A form of zinc that actually impacts the cold virus and presumably reduces its ability to reproduce quickly, thus presumably shortening the severity and duration of colds.

One hint - read the directions. Don't take any vitamins (especially vitamin C) or use artificial sweeteners for at least 1/2 hour before & after taking it - those neutralize the zinc.

I'd say about 90% of the time when I have that "cold is on its way" feeling, if I start taking Cold-Eeze it never actually becomes a full fledged cold and I feel find by the next day or the day after.

Having been a non DIS'er on a cruise with a heavy DIS presence (this is only my second cruise as a DIS member), I'd say we generally assumed it was some sort of special family reunion or something and did our best not to feel left out ::cop:

Don't understand this one Dan, all the articles that I have read indicate ascorbic acid has no effect on zinc absorption. The only interactions that I know of with zinc are calcium or phosphate containing products which decrease the absorption.
