Indian Lakes is a fairly easy drive. We have been there a few times for "Brunch with Santa" during the holidays. It was a really good brunch and looks like a nice resort.

Pamela

Super, I can't wait!!!

I just got my girls cheer competition schedule and we will be in Palatine on Oct. 18th and 19th, Reunion Meet? I booked a room in Schaumburg for that evening. Thinking that maybe I was planning ahead. I made so many reservations, I can't remember exactly which one, but is there a Homewood Suites in Schaumburg? If so, that is where I am at that night. Mark in on your calendars now!

I am done with seating people with people and all your tables are assigned. ::yes:: ::yes:: The tables will be a surprise because this is not easy to fill a stations, try not to use the stations that move far away from the other stations when into the next restaurant. It is worse than putting a 10,000 piece jigsaw puzzle together!!!!!!:  :rolleyes1

Don't think another thing about it!!! From experience ... send it into Deb and don't think about it again. No matter what you do there are going to be people not happy with something and there is nothing you can do about it. We had non DISers traveling with DISers who were in our mix and when they found out that they were not on the "best" rotation went to dining and changed it...so they were gone ... which left a gap in our seating. The DISer swore up and down that noone had changed their seating but if you had heard her upset with me on the phone when she realized it at 5:30 the first night while I was trying to get my family and myself ready and out the door to dinner at 6:00 ... well there was no way I would have admitted to her that I had been the one to tip the apple cart in her party after seeing her reaction. KWIM? Also, all three dining rooms are set up differently so you will not have everyone's stations right next to each other each and every night. Besides... that final decision is up to Deb. :)

Anyhow ... my suggestion to you is NOT to answer your stateroom phone that first day. :) Also... don't worry about what people will think ... too much else is really needing to be stressed about. ;)

Got lots accomplished this weekend!!!!

1. Finished all the dining links and sent my share off to Kristina!!
2. John almost got camera bag packed for trip. I had to make protective
covers for the cameras, DVD player, and mini camcorder from fleece.
3. Started puting FE gits together.
4. Had a mini meet with our Winotracy and her sweet DH..Bill.:woohoo:
5. Had the Cancer Celebration Party for over two hundred people.:yay:
Everything went off without a hitch.:worship: :worship: We also had 150 gifts donated like weekends stays and restaurants that everyone could
win in a raffle.:woohoo: :woohoo: The down side was the 8 leftover
pecan cheesecakes that serve 16 people. I now have one staring at me
everytime I open the freezer door.:headache: :headache:

Thanks for the reminder Monica. I thought I signed the kids up, but didn't. I just went over and signed them up.:thumbsup2

It's funny how quickly 4-5 hours went! Everybody was so easy to talk to. It was great to see Laurie & Darren again, and to meet Laura and M! If our kids were with us (instead of at my parents), we would have been walking around the museum too.

Here's a picture, although I'm sure that Laura got a better one:thumbsup2

From the left, it's Darren,Laurie and Kelly (Andrew couldn't make it), Linda & myself, M with Nate & Drew, and Laura. And a big thanks to Laura's DD Meghan for taking the pic!

I just hit the delete button in my mind. :lmao: Just have to remember to not answer phone.:rolleyes1

I had almost forgot the marathon dance recital from last night. This years show was 4-1/2 hour long :scared1: DD7 had her 4th recital and was in 2 numbers last night, one jazz and one ballet. After about 30 dances they all start looking alike. Here is Austyn in her jazz outfit.

Congrats on the Cancer Celebration Party. I knew that was a big event coming up for you, sounds like it was a big success! :)
I know about being left with yummy left overs. DS6 had a birthday on Friday and there was tons of Costco chocolate sheet cake left. I definitely ate my share of it! :(

Are those Zildjian cymbols? Tell him that Mrs. Zildjian is a personal friend. A real sweetheart. Her DH passed away several years ago, he was a pretty cool guy.

I LOVE the little girls in their dance costumes!! Too, too cute!

Jordan and I were in the dance shop the other day, and I was looking at the little tiny skirts & leos.....feels like just yesterday that I was buying those for her. But I don't miss sewing the ballet slippers!

Okay, I am really really behind (still on page 36). ...[ed]...!

U think you're behind... I starting on pg 1 tonite... AFTER I get the kids completely to sleep. DL was Almost too hot and the humidity sort of shut us down / dragged us a bit. We got there at 12 ish .. and left at 5PM from the parking structure. Caught supper with my parents. We hit a nice restuarant which is running a great deal.... 2 FREE live lobsters with any table of 7 persons and a modest minimum bill. Supposedly everyone qualifying gets 4 pounds of lobster - but it looked more like 3 pounds. Still - it tasted like it was cooked LIVE lobsters.

OK... gotta get started catching up SOMEWHERE soon here..... :surfweb:

Hi everyone!
Sorry I haven't been around for about a week. Just been so busy!
BUT.. I did take the time to meander thru thread links till I FINALLY found the last one before this thread (hey, that link on the first page does NOT take you to the last thread, btw LOL It takes you to the one that goes thru 5-17 or something like that! do you realize we get a new thread like every week? LOL)

anyway...... I managed to find back to the last time I was on here and no one posted on the 16th for Rita's birthday? uhoh... maybe I didn't have her on some list or something but maybe you guys could wish her some princess birthday wishes or something- NOW and I'll show her- and hope she doesn't know to look at dates of the posts and think it was back on the 16th?
(same day as Debi's anniversary- congratulations by the way!)

It was Debi wasn't? OMG short term memory.. I hope I remembered that right because who knows if i can find that thread again to look to make sure! LOL Was I supposed to have Rita on a birthday list or something or is my little princess just unloved around these parts? LOL

Oh she turned 8 by the way. my BABY is 8!
I haven't caught up on all the pages- not sure if Steph mentioned it but we had Rita's party on Saturday (21st) and Stephanie came with her kids! It was great to meet her and the kids. Her kids are GREAT! Little Claire is a sweetie and Brian hit it off with Robert pretty good- Robert is excited to see him again on the cruise! Well actually he'd rather see him again sooner than that... LOL Samantha is a beautiful young lady and I can only hope and dream that my ST Ruby turns out as great as her in a few years!!!!
Thanks for coming Steph- hope you all had a good time.

But hey....... you didn't tell ME about that sunscreen! You said you tell everyone! :rotfl2: Is it the spray sunscreen you used on the kids here? LMK!

So.. how is everyone doing? I hope everyone is well and um.. am the I only one kinda freaking out that the cruise is getting closer? OMG I don't have enough time to lose the weight! Here I go on another cruise uncomfortable in my "fat body" instead of my thinner one.......... and hardly any clothes that fit, and sweating to death, yada yada yada. my own fault- I know darn well how to lose the weight again (cutting the carbs) but just can't get my mind set to actually do it. I had TWO YEARS to get on track and never did. Now less than 2mo wouldn't put a dent in the weight I need to lose. Ohwell.. you'll all just see the fat me- just try to imagine the thin me. Maybe I'll take that Disney photo from a few years go so you can see the thin me that is inside this fat me. LOL give you a visual to imagine. wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I can't believe I wasted so much time :furious: -food that keeps me fat just tastes too good! wahhhhhhhh

Peter- LOL about the postcard.. but no, we got ours the same day you got yours and we made no phone calls that might have warranted the postcard. I guess they just took awhile to get to us. It looked like they were sent while ON the cruise? but maybe they sent them when they got back?

Here's my shams:
P1000214.jpg

P1000216.jpg
Wow- they wrote a WHOLE LOT more signatures on your shams than they did on my kids pillowcases last year! A WHOLE LOT more.... like twice as much atleast. Hey, they better give us more signatures this year. LOL
(you know what- I think maybe since we said their "favorite character" just to make sure THAT signature was on there- maybe they limited the names on there? I mean I put on there that Rita's favorite was cinderella and princesses to make sure those were on there, Ruby I said her favorite character was stitch, and robert I said his favorites were like Mickey, goofy, donald, etc. but no princesses.. (because I thought he'd be upset to have a pillowcase with a bunch of princesses names on it- a couple years ago he was very big on not having anything to with GIRLY stuff) Maybe they thought that's the ONLY signatures I wanted on there or something? hmm, yeah that's probably why. Maybe I should make a note- lots of signatures please but JUST MAKE SURE CINDERELLA IS ON RITA'S lol)

I like the idea of that frame too- that is really neat. What kind of frame is that -that they can write signatures all around it? Please let me know!

they didn't really stop the signature thing did they???????

Well, back to work-work this morning. I'm afraid. That's what a week out of the office will do, right?

8 Mondays until TOAL!

Is Cher on our cruise? Love her songs!

I'm guessing you love her butt tattoos.
Snap outta it!

Thanks for the reminder Monica. I thought I signed the kids up, but didn't. I just went over and signed them up.:thumbsup2

Thanks for posting the meet picture Mike. Did you guys ever stroll through the museum? Did they kick you out at closing time? :lmao:

DS9 and I went to see Prince Caspian with my parents this evening. Wow - did they mess with the book! DS and I read it just a couple weeks ago. The 1st movie was actually fairly true to the book, but this one was miles away! (Although nowhere near as bad as Starship Troopers that was "based" on Heinlein's book and wasn't even recognizable as the same story.)

Pamela

I KNOW! We read Prince Caspian a month or 2 ago. The kids liked picking the movie apart though.

If everyone does not know what cheese curds are...ask Tracy.::yes:::woohoo: :woohoo: I just know we can't get them until we cross the border. :(

MMMmmmm cheese curds....

The girls look beautiful! And their costumes are really cute.

Our DD Hailey had her first dance recital on Friday. She wasn't the best dancer, but boy did she have fun. And I was really worried about stage fright, but she got up there and danced away, so I was really proud of her.

She did hip-hop. I don't even have a picture because we weren't allowed to take pictures that night. When I get her picture from the dance school, I'll post it. (Even though we hated her costume. I didn't realize hip-hop equals street walker:scared1: )

Cheese curds and Mozz whips ROCK!!!! The best are when they are squeeky!

I am glad I got someplace you liked...I am looking forward to a weekend away. My parents (aka, my DD3's daycare) are leaving this Sunday for a 3 week vacation, so the big kids are taking turns watching the little one so my life will be a crazy disaster for the next 3 weeks, this weekend is right in the middle of all that fun, so it will be a welcome getaway!
