8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC #10

We did this on our cruise last year. It turned out great! I plan to do another one this time, but I thought I read a while ago that you could no longer request all the characters' signatures.

We've had a discussion going on the Pirate Zone regarding a kid's meet. I have created a separate thread for sign ups.

Thanks for the reminder Monica. I thought I signed the kids up, but didn't. I just went over and signed them up.

We had a great DC Mini Meet today with Laurie (Mrs. Scoobie) & Family, Mike & Linda (cruisin'Mike), Laura (Eeyorelover10) & DD, and me and my DSs. We had lunch at the Natural History Museum Cafe. After about 2 hours, we left the cafe, took a photo and (I thought) parted ways to explore the museum. 1.5-2 hours later, the boys and I were leaving the museum...and there was everyone else...right where we left them. They never left! Just stood there chatting for hours. Sounded fun, but DSs would not have been happy if I didn't let them explore a bit. Everyone was wonderful and friendly (as expected). Even more reasons to look forward to TOAL!

We missed ya, Kristina!

It's funny how quickly 4-5 hours went! Everybody was so easy to talk to. It was great to see Laurie & Darren again, and to meet Laura and M! If our kids were with us (instead of at my parents), we would have been walking around the museum too.

You guys are really making me want to dive on this trip. I have not dove for a few years. I am not sure where my log book or c-card is. I have no dive buddy, but I am thinking I may want to find them and perhaps take a refresher dive, in order to dive this trip.

If it is meant to happen, I will make it happen if not I know I will still have a great trip.

Isn't that the truth Mike. We all have so much to chat about and there just isn't enough time. I think we are just going to sleep at the port the night before, because I just can't imagine having all of us there and trying to meet everyone and chat before getting on the ship. And great picture too.

Here's the view we have been enjoying for the last week.

I'll try to post some of the shark fishing pics later. I haven't loaded them into Shutterfly yet. They caught a 5ft Bull shark and about 20 others and 2 stingrays. They had a ball. Adam wants to go again on Tuesday, but unless he pays--he is gonna be out of luck. I'll pay for 1 trip a vacation.

Well, time to hit the pool...........talk to you all later.

OK, call me confused! The list that Cheryl posted last week had the late diners broken up into tables.(I thought) Is that not what it was?

Yes I had them in stations but a few changed!! I had to do what was best to fill or complete each station and keep the best tables. Table numbers will not be given out because as I stated in my disclaimer DCL has the final word on everything!!! Not yelling just stating the truth!!

The dining divas have not started on table assignments yet but if you put in a request to sit with someone they will take that into consideration while assigning tables.

I liked being called a Diva!! We took all requests and did whatever we could to make you all happy. I had it much easier because I only had to deal with 128 people. Kristina is dealing with about 240 people.

This dining Diva is done!!!! I took all requests into consideration and tried to get the best tables we could while still filling all the stations!!

Everyone should bow to the DINING QUEENS....this is a really, really hard job. More than you would think.

Let us put it this way.............I will never do it again!!!

No not tables, it's just that some folks have already linked with a few families. Those are the groups that Cheryl had together. Those groups may end up filling one table or they may be put at a larger table with others.

I put together people according to children or requests. I also had to fill stations and try to fill all tables. If it sounds confusing >>>>>>>it is!!!

Hi Everyone,

Busy weekend working around the house. DH had to work today (some network stuff that had to be done when all the office staff was out and the factory was closed) so I had the fun of trying to clean house by myself with a 9 year old messing it as fast as I cleaned it! It isn't perfect, but at least we won't be living in filth this week....

DS9 and I went to see Prince Caspian with my parents this evening. Wow - did they mess with the book! DS and I read it just a couple weeks ago. The 1st movie was actually fairly true to the book, but this one was miles away! (Although nowhere near as bad as Starship Troopers that was "based" on Heinlein's book and wasn't even recognizable as the same story.)

What corps is your son marching and what does he play. I marched in Crossmen and Renegades (hence the screen name). I am a percussionist (pit).

He marched Impulse Drum Corp on the cymbal line last summer with World Finals in our own backyard for the first time ever, in Pasadena. Then marched Pulse Percussion this past winter for indoor drumline on the cymbal line again with World Finals in Dayton Ohio. He is on the snare line (his favorite) this summer with Pulse again with World Finals being in Indianapolis in August.

Way to go with Crossmen & Renegades! Thats awesome.

No posting the picture!!! It was great to meet you both!!!! Good thing Bill does not talk on the boards or he would tell everyone I talk too much!!!!!!!!!! Yes...........I ate some of my Cheese Curds!!!!!! I even let John try the Mozzarella Whips!!!! I did not even know they exist!!!

If everyone does not know what cheese curds are...ask Tracy. I just know we can't get them until we cross the border.

Okay, I am really really behind (still on page 36). BUT, I finally made reservations for the Midwest Mini Meet!!!! Go me!!!

Anyway, the Pheasant Run resort was full, I will keep checking as there may be cancellations...BUT, I did make reservations at the Hilton Indian Lakes Resort. According to Mapquest, that is 7.36 miles away from West Chicago. Pam and/or Cheryl, do you think that will be close enough and easy enough to get to and from? The room was $100 per night and we are Platinum blah blah blah members because of DH's travel. So we get free upgrades to the best room and free breakfast at Hiltons, so that is why I chose that. Also, maybe I can convince DH to come along as it is on a golf course...

Let me know, as if that is totally in the wrong area, I can change!

Back to do bills, update our family calendar and many other weekend chores. Hope to ketchup during naptime!

hi everyone! hope you all had a great weekend! it's great to see all the pics of the meets! i hope to remember some of the faces/names when we all meet onboard!
we had dd's 6th dance recital yesterday...so it was a busy weekend here! it's hard to believe that she's been dancing for 6 yrs!! she is only 8yrs old!! here is a pic of when she started. she did a little mermaid song...under the sea:

and this was her costume from her solo yesterday....also a little mermaid song...part of your world:

yesterday she danced in 10 diff dances...2 of them were solos! and she did great for all of them!!


we also got our fish extenders in the mail on friday! they look so great! we had gradysmommy do ours too. makes me even more excited for the trip!!!
